You shared a link of 2018 showing that N33b had been released as at the time for the project to support your claim that Jonathan paid for the bridge. Is that suppose to be a joke or what? shocked

Oga, Jonathan left Aso rock since 2015. The contract for the main work of the second Niger bridge was awarded by Buhari in 2018. See the link below. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vanguardngr.com/2018/11/just-in-fg-awards-n206bn-contract-for-main-work-of-second-niger-bridge/amp/

Jonathan only paid for the design and preparatory works for the bridge. He did not even award the contract for the main work not to talk of funding it.
Ok, so now u agreed he paid for the design and preparatory work. Do u just go about awarding contract without design or preparation?

U all forgot that the south east exists, tomorrow if they start agitation,u will be the first person to tell them to allow peace to reign, that they should join hands to build Nigeria,no wahala, one day one day,all this will end.

For me, I think we need the ports and industrial parks more urgently in this region, the trains and rail lines will be an associated infrastructure

You can achieve goals faster through diplomacy than agitation. Agitation & violence only makes your area hostile to investment. Take that to the bank.

Don't cut your nose to spite your face.

It's almost 3yr.
From just Lagos to ibadan.
And u are even saying it proudly, something that is suppose to take less than a yr.

You mean they build 156 km railway line, elevated bridges and 10 railway stations in less than a year?

You need your head checked.

when they want Biafra, they want president in the other hand, and they foolishly under develop their region by them self by keeping their investment in the north or west... because of envy among them self and lack of cooperation.

A peaceful environment attract investment, not an environment agitating for war or violence.
the south eastern state can come together to change the narrative, jus like the west..
you will Neva been taken serious until u take urself serious.

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the payment of $318m (about 123bn) as counterpart funding to the Chinese Government for the Ibadan-Kano standard gauge project.

The Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi who disclosed this said work on the Ibadan-Kano segment of the Lagos-Kano line may commence by the end of August.

It would be handled by the China Civil Engineering and Construction Corporation (CCECC). Amaechi who spoke in a Democracy Day interview monitored on Channels Television on Friday night commended the Chinese Government which he said had been very helpful in funding the railway modernization projects of the Federal Government.

He however added that the Federal Executive Council (FEC) had approved the opening of an account where some of the profits being generated from the standard gauge train services would be secured for repayment to the Chinese government. Amaechi disclosed that the flagship Abuja-Kaduna train which started with 300 daily passengers now records over 4000 passengers.

He said when the service first started, the government was making a monthly loss of N46m but now generates between N109m to N110m monthly profit.

Amaechi added that by the time the Ibadan-Kano train service comes on stream with cargo operations added to the service, more profit would be generated to ease the repayment of the loan.

He said: “We must attribute our successes in the rail operation to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

What happened to Lagos-Ibadan-Kaduna railway? Is this Kano-Ibadan railroad bypass Kaduna? If so, why should there be two major railroads from Ibadan-Kaduna and Ibadan-Kano? If this is an extension of Lagos-Ibadan-Kaduna-Kano railroad, it makes more sense than Ibadan-Kano railroad on the same corridor. One wanders what happened to PH-Aba-Umuahia-Enugu-Otukpo-Makurdi-Kaduna railroad? Why do most Nigerians wonder why certain people want out of the shithole called Nigeria?

You people should stop asking same questions everyday because another person will still ask same question by next week again when nrc website is there for you to confirm

Ibadan kano will pass through Ibadan-oshogbo-Ilorin-minna-Abuja-kano-kaduna

Kano and kaduna can be interchanged
It can also be Abuja-kaduna-kano

The main objective is Lagos kano rail

At the end we will have,
Lagos-Abeokuta-Ibadan-osogbo-Ilorin-minna-Abuja-kaduna-kano
