THERE IS AN UNHEALTHY COMPETITION AMONG STATES AND THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FOR SUPREMACY OF AUTHORITY as far as lockdown matter is concerned.

Federal government imposed that authority and states counter it with curfew and other forms of authority.

In America, there is meeting point and agreement is struck with mutual understanding with both state and the federal government in Washington dc at choosing the best way forward for implementation.

But this is not so with Nigeria where we have Buhari as President who is a northern far right leader and his anti-restructuring and anti-south ideology.

Buhari just do what he likes without adherence to the constitutions.

Some governors have become DICTATORS due to covid 19.

They have even forgot what they were originally elected to do.

Stop saying what you don't know.

State government in America also tackled Trump that he doesn't have the capacity to dictate for them if they should open or not.

"The US Constitution says that states maintain public order and safety. So
far, it has been individual state governors who have issued lockdown or
shelter-in-place orders."

It's not a Nigeria thing.

COVID-19: Don’t reopen schools now, NUT warns
The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) has advised federal and state governments against “hasty” reopening of schools, cautioning that the lives of teachers and their pupils should be seriously considered before such action is taken.
Principal Assistant Secretary of the Union in Niger state, Comrade Labaran Garba, gave the advice in Minna at the weekend after conducting newsmen round the ultra modern Niger state secretariat of the organisation.

It's important to note that this phase of reopening is meant for those in graduating classes, to enable them prepare optimally towards external examinations. Hopefully things returns back to normal soonest for everyone to resume, including public University students because ASUU is still on strike. I only fear that as with schools, once there is an outbreak, even though sporadic, schools maybe shut down again...we must be ready for staggered classroom schooling while optimizing our e-learning options
U must be a Mungo Park!! Where did u see external examinations in the report? Ogbologbo somebody

This is what we have been talking about for some time, lift interstate lockdown and allow schools to reopen. Many thanks to the Government for this wise and bold decision to allow the graduating classses; Primary 6, JSS3 and SS3 to resume tomorrow before other classes.

This shows that the Government is listening, however, more need to be done in Lagos and Ogun state about the reopening of all religious organization.

Don't compare HIV with coronavirus.

They are two different viruses that demand different approaches.

Covid-19 is a respiratory disease, which makes it far more contagious than HIV. It is much easier to avoid catching HIV than coronavirus.

So, a lockdown (if followed totally) can help us contain the virus.
