THUNDER4real: First, you must become like a Child, abandon every thing your so-called men of God have ever told you about who God is or what He does. This is how Jesus Christ said we have to be if we want to enter into His kingdom Second, pick up a good translation of the Bible. When I say good, I mean a translation that is in a form of English that is near natural at this point for you. I post from an Easy-to-read translation myself cause I believe it is closest to today's English that people at any level can grasp what is written without pretending it needs to be "specially" interpretated Thirdly, read the entire book of Acts as if you were reading a Novel. There are only about 28 or so Chapters anyway so if you sat down to read it as if reading a good book, you can finish it in one or two days. Lastly, be sure to let the story read itself to you. Open your mind and let your mind tell you what happened and how. My hope is that by doing this, you will learn how the first Christians lived by the compass of the Spirit of God and How they were able to individually and as a group live in obedience of J Jesus Christ's commandments each and every day. I hope you also understand also the place of the Spirit of God in every follower of Jesus Christ as opposed to the whims and opinions of men, what we some like to call "counsel of men" this days 3 Likes |

If you are sure you read chris4sur's comment on tithe, then I have nothing to say to you for you are Just been ignorant. |

Chris4sur:lol.. The funny is what Paul really said was that Abraham, by paying 1/10th to Melchizedek, who he, Abraham, never paid to again after that one , he, Abraham paid our entire tithe debt forever. The only place where tithing is used according the formulae specified by God is in the Old Covenant days where it is thoroughly defined in Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy (you can only understand the old law of tithing by reading through all 4 books at least) Chris4sur:That is a lie. God instituted the tithing system as a way of ensuring that the Levites, who had no inheritance in the new land, would still taken care of as His people too. Tithe was never designed to be paid to God, and it was at no point used to pay God. God never asked His people to give Him money. Tithe was set up to ensure that no one in the land went hungry. The first 2 years tithes were to be eaten by the one who gathered it, along with those who had nothing. The third year, much of the tithe was given to the Levites and the rest to those who were poor. Tithe was set up to ensure obedience to God. The specifics of God's tithing formulae can again be found by reading through the pentateuch. Anyone who knows God will know that God will never accept anything less than that which He commands. And to make sure of it, God designed His tithing formulae in such a way that it cannot be easily copied by anyone, even the so-called MOGs of today. Anyone who tithes according to man's formulae and not according to God's formulae is worshipping God in vain because we all know God will never accept any sacrifice that is not according to His Will. Chris4sur: Wrong! :Give unto Caesar what is Caesars.... " refers more to paying applicable taxes with the appropriate currency. The temple sacrifices and dues that were used in the temple were collected in shekels. However the tax instituted by the Romans were paid in Roman coins with Caesar's face on the coin. Again if you read the old Covenant laws, you would see where God stated how much a vow, for example was paid off for. He, God stated the exact currency to be used in such transactions within His temple. Jesus Christ affirmed God's command by adding "...give unto God what is God's" Chris4sur:Jesus Christ never handed over His Church to His apostles. He told them that He and He alone is teacher to all His followers. He warned His disciples against getting disciples of their own i.e He was the only Master/ Rabbi/ Teacher/ Instructor for His flock. Before He left, He told them that He would send the Spirit of God to them. And that the Spirit would be their only teacher/counselor/ comforter / Helper /guide. His followers were to obey Him, Jesus Christ, and Him alone because He alone commands His followers and He alone teachers His followers. Chris4sur:To be addressed later |

Nooil: He was made a personal vow, he was not threatened with hell and curses to pay tithes.
Abraham paid the tithe during the meal when he was hosted by Melchizedek. He paid tithes because God delivered his enemies into his hand. Abraham did not pay tithes for life. Keyword, weightier matters. According to Christ Justice, Mercy and faith are more important than tithe. You guys have been brainwashed to believe that the most important thing in Christianity is tithes, and your salvation lies in tithes. A Numbers 18:21Are Nigerian pastors children of Levi? Is the tribe of Levi even still in existence? Psalm 24:1What has this got to do with tithes. Psalm 50:12God is hungry and requires your tithe to eat? I don't understand.
How does this relate to tithes by threats Malachi 3:8-12 Why not start from Malachi 2 instead of reading Malachi 3 in isolation? The instruction of Malachi was for priests and not for everybody. MALACHI 2 And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you. 2 If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the Lord of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart. 3 Behold, I will corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your solemn feasts; and one shall take you away with it. 4 And ye shall know that I have sent this commandment unto you, that my covenant might be with Levi, saith the Lord of hosts. 5 My covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him for the fear wherewith he feared me, and was afraid before my name. 6 The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and equity, and did turn many away from iniquity. 7 For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts. 8 But ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the Lord of hosts. 1 Like |

piagetskinner:I didnt need to judge you. It was simple logic really and God already gave us the very answer to this logical puzzle from the beginning. This has nothing to do with flaws. This is to do with your attempt at lying against the Almighty Everlasting God by pretending one can actually deceive God into accepting an unholy sacrifice, something God said so many time He will never accept. It came down to either you are lying or God is lying and we all know God does not lie, neither does He change His mind. He is true afterall, so it means you are a liar. 1 Like |

Kobojunkie: From all you have said, I can see that you are still ignorant. First you should pray to God for the gift of understanding his words not as you wish but as how he wants you to understand them with an open mind. Then you open your bible, read it from the beginning to the end, letter by letter, word by word, chapter by chapter, books by books, letters by letters, from Old testament to New testament. When you are done if you cannot see where you have been Ignorant. You should continue to pray for understanding and keep reading your bible. The old testament and the new testament are interwoven and understand is required to truly see the connection. That's all I have to say to you. A Christian does not argue he just speaks the truth. You are free to call my comment what ever you wish I have nothing to say to you. |

Chris4sur:Gift of Understanding? Therr is no such gift. Understanding belongs to those who are open-minded. Not those whosw minds are closed to even that which is right in front of them and written in human language (not God or angel language) . With simple language comprehension skills yiu should be able to comprehend that written in your English translation of the book, no magic necessary. Chris4sur: Again with praying for understanding...lol. you call me ignorant yet you are the one ignorant of the details of God's law, the one ignorant of who Jesus Christ is and what His commandments mean to all of His followers. It is not ok to wear a badge that says "Christian" . Be sure that badge will never get you anywhere close to the Almighty God if you continue to ignore His truth as you continue to gobble up the doctrinal lies and traditions of men who you have set over your heart. Chris4sur:The old testament and new testament are interwoven? Yet they are so separate from each other? Lol Basic English comprehension skills are what He is calling you to use in reading the book. Abandon your arrogance and become like a child so you can read and understand what is presented you, even in plain English language . 1 Like |

wirinet: Those Bible quotes are all related to tithes, addressing both the priests and the people. And yes, Malachi 3 was for the priests stealing the tithes and offering the people brought to God. Moreover, even priests pay tithe. You can see it referenced in the last chapter I wrote. "Even Levi, who receives tithes, paid tithes" I'm not here to argue about what a pastor said or not. I'm here to let you guys know that it is in the right order to pay tithes. Now read 1 Corin 16:1-2 and tell me your thoughts. Please, it's the last time I'm replying any mentions. |

Nooil: False doctrine. I know you have been conditioned to believe your salvation is tied to tithes. So I don't expect you to see reason concerning it. Christ did not come to preach tithes, he never required anyone's tithes, he never taught his disciples to preach tithes. Christianity is about charity, free giving and empathy for the poor and under privileged. It's not bet9ja where wager money in expectations of a jackpot. It only makes the house (bet9ja or pastor/church ) richer, while the people get poor, with some getting addicted to the wagering itself. 4 Likes |

Kobojunkie: I disagree with this your statement: The covenant was an everlasting covenant with the descendants of Israel irrespective of their religion. Or do you mean Israel of today are still under that Old Covenant & still obligated to keep the Old Law of Moses? |
Re: Bishop Oyedepo: If You Don’t Pay Your Tithe You Are Under A Financial Curse by Kobojunkie: 10:12pm On Jul 18, 2020 |
emmnprince:Yes it is! What do you think Judaism is all about? Jesus Christ never abolished the Old Covenant and He certainly did not make any changes to it. God never said the contract no longer existed. so why would you believe the Old Covenant no longer holds as far as the descendants(children) of Israel are concerned? The agreement was made between God who wanted to rule over the people of Israel and the people. Over the centuries, many of them did worship idols , abandoning God but God never abandoned them because of that. These people are His people whether they like it or not. |

wirinet: Just like adulterers think everyone is like them, people who probably paid tithe due to expectations and got disappointed(and became bitter) think everyone is like them. Uncle, not everyone is like you. Some of us are noble at heart. And yes, God will bless us tithers abundantly. Because no word goes out of His mouth and returns void. Tithe has never been tied to salvation. I wonder where you guys get your satanic thoughts. You must be a member of the church of satan to have such thoughts. You had better repent. 2 Likes |

Kobojunkie: This is where I disagree. The Old Covenant accomplished it purpose in Christ. Read Galatians 3:19 and 5:14. The Old Testament Covenant and Law was done away with at the Cross. It is no longer in force. Jesus Christ took it away. When Jesus fulfilled the Law, it ceased to be binding on God's people (see Galatians 3:16, 19, 24, 25). a fulfilled Covenant is no longer binding. Here's an illustration: Consider what happens when you sign a contract concerning the purchase of a piece of property. Once you have fulfilled the contract by meeting all the conditions (including making all payments), it becomes a fulfilled contract; it is no longer binding. Jesus did not come to come to destroy, dissolve or undo the law, nor did he come to show disrespect for the law. He came to fulfill its purpose and not to violate its principles. The fulfillment of the law meant the end of the law. Jesus here showed the stability of the law and that it would end when its purpose was fulfilled. (Colossians 2:12-17; Hebrews 10:9). Through the prophets, God stated that the law would change when the covenant change (Hebrews 31:32-33; Hebrews 8:8-13; Galatians 3:23-25). The Old Testament law functioned in such a manner to bring man to justification by faith in Christ (Acts 13:39). The law had served its purpose and now discharges from its duties. (Hebrews 10:4). Christ is the end of the law (Romans 10:1-4 (note verse 4); Hebrew 10:9. The law therefore, was a means to an end. Bottom line: The Old Covenant and Law are no longer in force today because Jesus took them out of the way. We (Jews and Gentiles) are under the Law of Christ. 1 Like |

emmnprince: You know that Paul whom you quote has no authority as far as the Truth of God is concerned, right? Paul has no power or authority where the commandments and laws of God is concerned, so I would be cautious and careful. That said, it seems the idea you have is only proclaimed by Paul and Paul alone. Are there are other witnesses to the alleged nullification of God's Covenant with the people of Israel? I ask because according to the law of 2 or 3 witnesses, which even Paul spoke of in 2 Corinthians 3(i believe), 2 or 3 witnesses are required for such judgments as the one you claim . So who are the other witnesses in this case you present? |

Kobojunkie: Paul has authority as far as the Truth of God is concerned. He is one of the Christ-sent apostles. The book of Acts has the record. Paul was called to take the Gospel of Christ to the Gentile world. He did. There are historical facts and evidences. But the New Testament Scriptures are enough for us. Peter also spoke about Paul in one his epistles. He wrote: "Bear in mind that our Lord's patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction." (2 Peter 3:15,16). Peter, James, especially John and other apostles would have written against Paul's apostleship and his writings. Mind you, Christ promised the apostles divine help through the Holy Spirit who would guide them into all truth. John, one of the apostles, wrote this in John 16:13-15. Since Paul is one of the apostles (though was not with Jesus and the 12 during His ministry), we can trust His writings since they are inspired by the Holy Spirit. |
