Seriously , hitherto am a fan of GEJ though av always been concern abt those that surround him. but having gone through ds thread am beginning 2 think dt av been in a wrong camp all along.
i av never giving any thought Or dAMN abt  Buhari @ all  beecos i used 2 think d man is an old school who doesn't know the latest art of governing a state like Nigeria. but from d fore going i think he is just d most clean and stainless among others contenders, d best MAN 4 d job, even better than Ribadu who will latter be controlled and arm twisted by d Tinubus .

i think we should all vote base on personalities and not parties,
these vultures we hav around av wasted enough of our glorious time, change should come.
I think i will be swinging toward the BB team now dt i know better.

Of all the present candidates for Nigeria presidency, there is no an iota of doubt that Buhari stands head and shoulder above the rest. I am old enough to know that he meant well for the country as Head of State but the corruption infested millitary lead by Babangida would not allow him. It is not surprising that people like WOLE sOYINKA are not supporting his ambition. The professor sometimes behaves like one who is living ahead of the time; not facing reality or running away from it. He forgets that as humans, no amount of perfection will make us walk without having our heads tilted/shaken. Buhari may have made some mistakes in the past but I believe that all the good things he stands for far outweigh whatever his past shortcomings were. If Nigerians are really desirous of reaching "the promised land", Buhari remains the only candidate that has all it takes to take us there. As promising as Ribadu may appear, he is still very far behind Buhari in terms of the zeal and the readiness to step on toes. There are many interests Ribadu will still want/need to protect if he becomes the president. Or does anyone think that Ribadu will want to offend Tinubu whom himself once described his (Tinubu's) corruption as of "international dimensions". I"LL RATHER VOTE FOR BUHARI TEN TIMES THAN GEJ ONCE.

The bolder part is one of the reason I'm joining the BB train
Re: What We Did Not Know About Buhari by 9ijaMan: 9:50am On Feb 22, 2011
Do not forget to tell your friends at home, colleagues at work and family members to join the BB train. We may never have this opportunity again in our lifetime. This generation of Nigerian youth are wiser and more informed. Together we can all kick out the maggots in ASO rock.

VOTE BB for the change we desire!
Re: What We Did Not Know About Buhari by GOODYDAVE: 10:03am On Feb 22, 2011
My greatest joy is that Nigerians are wiser now! We are collectively abandoning the politics of fear and we are chosing the politics of hope. Arise Oh great nation! O God come to our aid and pls destroy our oppressors(PDP)! No matter the mistakes of BUHARI, he meant well and everybody knows that he did nothing for personal gain. That fact alone is good enough for me. BUHARI/BAKARE is the only ticket that still gives me hope about Nigeria. That is the only ticket I can defend even before God Almighty.

Re: What We Did Not Know About Buhari by koyuid(m): 11:18am On Feb 22, 2011
Why i will not vote for GEJ
1. The 2011 budget is complete thrash (sign of worse things to come)
2.GEJ has done nothing about harliburton and siemens scandals
3.a serving senator an accessory to murder in ibadan was realeased and flown in presidential jet to abuja for the pdp primaries
4. more importantly his wife is darn too ugly grin

Buhari has displayed consistency, he has shown that he is not in politics for money or wealth. most nigerians easily get influenced by ethnic and religious considerations in thier choice of leaders for me the only consideration is character.

Please provide proof of him being a self-acclaimed Jihadist. Furthermore, please provide proof that he has sponsored or is sponsoring any Jihad crises in Nigeria.

Maybe you prefer a Jonathan who now wines and dines with the people alleged to be behind the October 1 2010 TERROR BOMB BLAST.

I keep reminding Nigerians, the begining of proper education is when you can make sound judgement  based on facts not sentiments. Are Nigerians denying that corruption, mis-managment and total lack on dicipline are our biggest problems?

If we accept, that the above is true, how do the candidate measure out? quite frankly if we are true to ourselves and nobody else, all would Agree that Buhari is miles ahead
Re: What We Did Not Know About Buhari by Nixo: 11:45am On Feb 22, 2011
Indeed the bulk population of Nigerians are becoming politically aware now and can really see the real reason Pastor Tunde Bakare agreed to run with Buhari. He is the best candidate from the North. Period!

I see more light daily about this guy and really defining where my single vote goes to and for whom it goes to as well.

My concerns however is that Power will only go back to the North (Katsina) but who really cares about that now cos looking at the bunch of Liars surrounding GEJ nowadays, that decision is easier to make these days, The same folks that have been in and around that corridor of Power from the days of OBJ up till now. So Pls all these talk about power going to the North or South aint totally true. They are only playing with the electorate and it is sad cos they are getting the results they seek.

Who wants FRESH AIR Truth be told, there aint no fresh air with the same old political wags in power, GEJ may or may not mean well but people we are on the same track as we were in 2007 if PDP gets into power yet again. So the sad thing is there aint no FRESH AIR afterall.

Vote for someone else then, VOTE for BUHAR/?BAKARE, for proper delivery of theyarnings of NIgerians.

I said to my friends: let's vote for Buhari/Bakare,
Some started expressing sentiments: that he is hausa
Some said they don't want to loose their votes
Some said he may not win because of his religion
Some said he was millitary, and that anything millitary shouldn't come along

I said to YOU, friend,
I dont mind grin
Your opinion doesn't matter cool
Your sentiments notwitstanding shocked
If I must loose my vote, it will enter Buhari/Bakare's ballot box shocked

people are giving excuses not to vote BB but the truth is that BB is what we need.
what has the PDP done for us in the past 12 years? our roads are still bad, electric power is still not stable, corruption is still everywhere, education is nothing to write home about, every wednesday the FEC award contracts worth billions of naira yet for 12years nothing is working, impunity and insecurity is increasing. YET YOU STILL WANT TO VOTE PDP.

my brothers and sisters on NL, election is coming very soon, it is time to decide our future. are you happy with the waythe country is being managed?

please your votes can make the difference, think of the following questions before you cast your vote, answer this question with open mind and allow your conscience to be your guide.

1. am i happy with the way the country is being managed, whom i do believe will make a change?

2. what does the future holds for me and my family if i vote this person, will it be biz as usual?

3. corruption, whats the candidate plans to fight it?

4. what are my reasons for voting for this candidate, please be very objective remove all sentiment.

5. what are the candidates plan on the following, road, health care, power and education.

6. who are the candidate pallies, because birds of the same feather flock together.

7. do i have confidence that he will keep to his promises, we have been promise heaven before?

after answering the questions please go out and vote for that candidate that you believe will make that positive change and protect your vote by making sure it counts.

We in the vanguard for enthronement of fiscal and fundamental discipline in our country, were not young when GMB, came calling, in 1983, as head of state. He burst shops that hoard our commodities sold to wholesalers and retailers, from commodity boards, and importers given duty waivers, and those that on concessed form M. All those NPN rogues and their accomplices. As a petroleum minister, he "birthed" the now existing refineries. We queued for commodities, and we leave the queue lines with our desired stuff. We were flogged to follow simple rules, that ordinarily we were supposed to imbibe as human beings. We were so unruly, and the consequence is what we are now suffering from. Our "Andrew's" have gone and contributed to the development of foreign lands at our country's expenses.
As a ptf chairman, he has been lopsided, if you recall like you said, you were around then. The road from Onitsha-Owerri-Owerrinta to Aba, was contracted out to a son of the Igbo land, Chief Iwuanyanwu, who ordinarily, one supposed will be patriotic enough. He did poor job of it, with only gravel and tar, and left. The other portion of the road, Owerri- Onitsha, was left in a chaotic and precarious position. At the burial of Father Tansi, it was difficult to access Onitsha on that road. Ptf, was left to re award, at another cost the construction, erection of gully barriers on that road.
The Eleme - East/West road, was a top challenge to the federal govt, until Buhari came with a plan of community dialogue, which has been an impediment for the re-asphalting/opening of the road. Part of what he did in dealing with community challenges was any economic land/tree is entitled to full compensation. Ptf came to the rescue of road users in that axis, though on palliative measure, but there was unanimity of opinions. I will also inform you from reliable source, that 80% of the hospital beds/sheets, in most of the teaching/specialist hospitals in the south south, have ptf logo on them. Emzor pharmaceutical, was a great beneficiary of ptf. My landlord's younger brother, Chukwudi, was without a job, 3yrs after graduation, until he ptf came on-board, and emzor pharmaceuticals, employed him. This ptf, program, has created openings/vacancies, in most moribund until hitherto, Nigerian companies.
Prof. Dora Akunyili, would not have done what she did in nafdac, if she had not worked and served under GMB's ptf, whom she still refers to with nostalgia, as "my oga". If we are to judge GMB's performances,as a military head of state, with GMB, as a civilian president, I think it is a task this fine gentleman will achieve, even better now. because he is senile now, he has removed the toga of military dictatorship from his nomenclature.
A vote for BB, to me and other progressive Nigerians, is a security for our children and grand children.
Ghana is what it is today, because of the even-handedness of Flt. Lieutnant Jerry Rawlings. If we had supported GMB, Nigeria and Nigerians would not pariahs abroad, and object of scorn.

May the good Lord bless you for taking us down this memory lane. The myopic and clueless amongst us will come here to shout that Buhari was lopsided, he was a Jihadist blah blah blah without a single shred of evidence.

The choice is easy, we either continue to wallow in abject poverty as a nation or take our destinies in our very hands and vote out PDP. As for me, I made my choice right from day 1: Buhari is the way and he's even made it better by bringing another Tunde (remember he once had a Tunde Idiagbon as his deputy) into his team.

VOTE BB to salvage our nation for generations unborn!

For those saying Buhari was a despot, a dictator, too hrash etc, Sanusi Lamido reminds you of the inevitability of such measures for the nation to move:

"Draconian policies were a necessary component of this struggle for transformation and this has been the case with all such epochs in history. The Meiji restoration in Japan was not conducted in a liberal environment. The Industrial Revolution in Europe and the great economic progress of the empires were not attained in the same liberal atmosphere of the 21st Century. The “tiger economies” of Asia such as Taiwan, South Korea, Indonesia and Thailand are not exactly models of democratic freedom. To this extent Buharism was a despotic regime but its despotism was historically determined, necessitated by the historical task of dismantling the structures of dependency and launching the nation on to a path beyond primitive accumulation. At his best Buhari may have been a Bonaparte or a Bismarck. At his worst he may have been a Hitler or a Mussolini. In either case Buharism drawn to its logical conclusion would have provided the bedrock for a new society and its overthrow marked a relapse, a step backward into that era from which we sought escape and in which, sadly for all of us we remain embedded and enslaved."

Sanusi Lamido, July 12, 2002.
