Kobojunkie:

WOW . . . . This is what I mean by the lack of critical thinking skills. Rather than actually analyzing the current, you are still stuck in the loop of the past. How does one change the future that way? I am not certain if you are a Christian but please consult your pastor on what God says of the past and what we need to do with it.

Education is an ONGOING process. Even the most college educated still has nothing if he does not understand his current surroundings and how to change it. He has to constantly educate himself so he can stay up to date on how to better his life. We just watched and saw how the young of Egypt, were able to set aside their past squabbles, educated themselves on their rights as individuals and as Egyptians -- then took to the streets to demand changes for themselves.

Critical thinking skills are lacking with majority of Nigerians . . . that is why people make excuses for the thieves-in-power and do not stand up for their right. Some do not even take the time to learn what their right is and if it is they to serve the politicians or the politicians to server them. How can you help these people? Simple -- by EDUCATING them on their rights, their place in government, and the need for them to demand change if they truly want change to the status quo.

I am settled with fact that those who failed to embrace corrective measures from the past events are bound to repeat the blunders. Also, I do not think that records are kept simply to jolt the idle memory of people but to function as a guide to the future.

It was not long ago that few Nigerian visionary soldiers decided to create such boldness in us but their actions were immediately turned into ethnical jingoism.

If this newly found fantasy of yours called “critical thinking” clarifies goals, examines assumptions, understands hidden values, evaluates evidence, accomplishes actions and assesses conclusion, I say Nigerians, especially Biafrans in our mist, are centrally committed to “critical thinking” since January 15, 1966.

Again, I am not going to go back in time with you. We live in a democracy – a situation now exists where EVERY INDIVIDUAL needs to know how to think for themselves and do so critically. Unfortunately, no single group is ahead when it comes to educating their own on how to do this. That is why we continue to go around in circles, both at the regional levels and the national level. If you want anything good for Iboland at all, you would be calling for them to learn what you have discovered works, in the west where you live. Regional sectionalism does not . . . I am sure you know that after many years in living out in the west.

@kobo We have pretended for too long that there are no differences between the peoples of Nigeria. The hard fact which we must honestly accept as of paramount importance in the Nigerian experience especially for the future is that we are different peoples brought together by recent accidents of history. To pretend otherwise will be folly."igbos/biafrans can lift our economy to a great mighty height, nigerian govt knows that it will be better for eastern- region to have their own country. That way we can control our borders people will have peace same with hausa and yoruba it will be easier now that we understand each other values and with our great capabilities,

a) Before you pretend to speak on behalf of a people, at least have some numbers to show you really can. The last time I checked, not a lot of people batted an eye when 200 MASSOB members were arrested by their governor, who has openly admitted his disdain for the movement, yet got re-elected by the people.
b) That you and the few you surround yourself with, feel a certain way does not mean all Ibos are with you.
c) The only people holding the Eastern states back have been and remain the local politicians who themselves seem to aspire to be local champions and not much else.
d) The people now have a democracy in place – if you are not willing to use it to the advantage of the people, you are part of the problem, not the solution. People no longer want someone else to speak for them ;they want to be allowed to speak for themselves – they want to be heard by their local government leaders, their senators and their governors.

Biafra cannot be discussed in a day. The issue is that it becomes a distraction when you seem to think you can reduce Biafra to shrink . By so doing you want to down play Biafra's exisence. You are not neutral as you claim because you have a strong one-sided opinion on anything about Biafra, gov peter obi is under A.P.G.A. and the party have a lot of (massob) members which you don't no, eastern region our politicians are still under nigerian govt control from abuja federal govt  to local govt.I suggest that you change your views to greater mind and do not stick on baseless points you are trying to make it will not take you far, innocent blood wasted  for  hate-tribalism just  because of ONE NIGERIA!!!!

I am not discussing biafra with you . . . I am simply bringing your attention to the fact that the people do not even care to come to the defense of those who claim to fly that flag. That ought to tell you that their attentions have probably shifted to more pressing issues for them.

Continuing to argue for a cause that does not even seem popular without providing conclusive numbers as to why is a waste of our time, and the time of the Ibo people who seem to have moved on.

Stop presuming I don't KNOW . . . what you have posted above is known to all nigerians who have been paying attention. There is no such thing as "eastern region our politicians are still under nigerian govt control from abuja federal govt  to local govt". People in Enugu are enjoying a governor who also happens to be subject to the same Federal Government. The same applies in Lagos with Fashola, and Rivers with Amaechi. Stop Making excuses for mediocrity and work on getting people educated so they can demand better from their leaders, even down in the villages and counties.

^^Biafra was indeed an example of what an African nation could become if left alone. We had our dreams and lived them out. We had one of the best functioning government even when in war. a) If non-ibos hated Ibos, Ibos would not today be able to boast of being able to live in about anywhere Nigeria. So please let us leave that delusion behind, and focus on deciding what will move Ibo people forward, if it is even the case that you care for such.

b) You are right that Chime, Amaechi, and Fashola are not the only governors in Nigeria. But they are among the few, that even with the Federal still over them, have been able to hold their people to higher esteem than many of the others have. So you trying to make it, yet again, the federal Government's fault falls short.

[b]Nigeria will never move forward till Nigerians accept the futility of forcing the co-existence of different nations in one ungovernable entity called Nigeria. Of what use is it to blindfold yourselves just because you don't want to see and believe how complicated and anti-developmental this British creation is, in the name of unreasonable agitation for "One Nigeria"?
We keep fighting against each other politically, socially, religiously and economically, yet we expect some sort of magic to happen for Nigerian ethnic groups to hug themselves and move the country forward. Is it not glaring that for 50 years Nigerians have concentrated on fighting and trying to out do each other, than coming together to lift the country? People fail to see beyond their noses. We can make good use of this constant disunity among Nigerian ethnic groups by molding a new political atmosphere that will turn the hatred and strife to competition among the ethnic groups. Regional politics was more effective than this senseless unity in diversity that Nigeria is pretending to practice.
One thing that the agitators for"One Nigeria" does not understand is that a crumbling house can only be stopped from crumbling if either a new one is built, or it is pulled down by the owner. If the owner of the house foolishly ties his eyes to pretend that his house is not crumbling, then the house will crumble on him while his eyes are tied.
Quit pretending. Even If Nigeria remains this way in 100 years time, We will never ever move forward. In fact we are just 30 years behind developed nations now. By 100 years time, we will be 70 years behind the developed world.

Why not instead of trying to WIN an argument, you focus more on speaking FACTS that actually apply to the people, not continue to promote your personal fears/hate as if they are shared by 8 million people in Iboland.

One of the biggest myths on nairaland is that I hate Yorubas.

The truth is that I don't hate ANY group. I can't. I am Igbo! Igbos can't hate innocent people. You meet us in the field of battle it is a different game. But the battle ends in the battle fields, not in homes killing innocent women and children.

That is why we are being ridden like donkeys in Nigeria.

If we have 10% of the hate you have, we would rule Nigeria unchallenged.

Gini ka ihe a putara?

I do not hate Yorubas. There are some Yoruba posters that I enjoy interacting with. Kilode is one of them. The Yoruba chest beaters such as yourself is what piss me off.

And if you think Kobojunkie is an Igbo, then think again. We Igbos have been calling her a Igbo-hater for quite a while, because she is always at odds with Igbos.

I am starting to think she is from a minority group from the Middle Belt.
