Dedetwo: Can your p51 carry Laser Guided Rockets including Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS)? Can it carry 3,300 pounds of weapons.? Can it carry and drop short-range air-air missiles like the AIM-9 Sidewinders.? Can it carry and drop Hydra 70 Rockets (70mm rockets)? Can it carry and drop a GBU-10 Paveway II laser-guided bomb, Is it equipped with electro optical infrared system? Is it equipped with encrypted digital anti-interception and jamming V/UHF radio? Is it equipped with GPS navigation? Is it equipped with laser-range finder? Is it equipped with a forward-looking infrared AN/AAQ-22 SAFIRE Is it equipped with surveillance cameras? I know your answer is No, so, that's how silly and ignorant you sound. Tucano is very advanced and high tech infused plane with many of the latest features and capabilities you see in the best fighters like the F35. Read and educate yourself and stop sounding ignorant. |

I see people shouting about how wonderful the news is, bros and sisters you are watching American scam on a kentro level. Do you guys know how much Nigeria paid for these Airplane, spare parts and airbases, that Nigerians might never get full control over ? Close to US$700 million for these 70s/80s brand of airplane Abeg, anyone that truly knows is waiting for the New millennium generation jet from China/Pakistan the J-17. America specifically asked to build the airbase because they know they scammed Nigeria, plus they also want to give out contracts plus entrench and build networks for their military/intelligence assets in Nigeria and west Africa at large. |

ykalhaji: Abeg stop your conspiracy theories, many countries bought the same package and I don't remember any of them having issues. They say young people are the leaders of tomorrow, but with the lowly thinking, shallow thoughts and conspiracy theories many of you peddle, I don't see any future for Nigeria, we won' even development because you are preoccupied and bugged down with non issues, small though and can't do spirit. In fact, the old leaders of today have better sense and competence than many Nigerian youths. |

NGpatriot: This is not news for those of us in the know and correction they are not constructing any damn base, they are simply constructing support facilities for the planes at Naf Base New Bussa (Kainji) , Niger state and this process has already been on since 2018.. Sheeeshh!! |
Re: US Army Engineers Corps To Construct A29 Air Base In Nigeria by NGpatriot: 2:07am On Aug 30, 2020 |
SAVAGEBETS: This is a bedown according to the news article that I did not write or publish. A bed beddown facility for any aircraft is a base for that particular air asset regardless if it's inside s larger or smaller base, it's a base for that particular air plane and infrastructure designed specifically to house, maintain and protect it. Of what relevance is this gan sef? You are in the know for what? That was a baseless and redundant info. |

US military under Trump is not going to crack down on Igbos but help protect them and any part of Nigeria that wants to break away if it has a clear plan. No part of Nigeria is ready to leave now Yoruba can't leave cos of slave mentality and cowardice. Igbos can't leave cos of the fear of leaving Yorubaland behind, the kind of poverty awaiting them and Igboland becoming one giant prison from having all the Igbos from other regions. Hausas and fulani can't leave cos of the kind of poverty they will suffer when they lose access to all the free money. The only people I'm surprised about are the Niger delta. They have enough oil and crazy people to set the ball rolling for the breakup of Nigeria. I don't know how they can't see how rich they are if the parasites fleecing off them are cut off. Nigeria is only there for economic reason I don't want to hear about any tribe leaving, no tribe wants to leave, only God can help us break the country I see having this base in Nigeria a blessing, who knows if the US is setting the base to help Nigeria break up. 35824L: |

phranklyn92: Nigeria having a base constructed for 12 planes. Where are those planes based presently?... what have they been doing since?....why the need for a separate base? Why contract the US Military and not a private company? The base is to serve the interest of the US.... they will always be based there... for one reason or other.... Nigeria military will never have full control of that base nor occupy all of it. |

nedekid: Let me respond to you accordingly. First, please drop that notion that the Nigeria Navy has a lean budget. If we are serious in this country with modernizing our military, the money wouldn't be an issue, trust me. You know how much was stolen in NDDC alone. So stop that crab of lean budget. Nigeria has money to modernize it's military. Egypt, Algeria, SA that have better equipped Militaries are not richer than Nigeria. So forget about lean budget. There is money in this country Secondly, bury that notion that a country's military only acquire modern military hardwares because of external threats it faces. The Super tucano aircraft remains an obsolete aircraft that no serious military world over buys. Your argument that BH doesn't have an airforce and so no need for newer jets is very lame. The US used fighter jets and attach helicopters in the fight against ISIL and other terrorist groups in Iraq, Afghanistan etc. They didn't use a super tucano aircraft. Go read about the military jets France uses against Jihadists in some of these Francophone West Africa countries. These are terrrorist organizations with no airforce but whose sophistication and links with other terrorists organizations (such like BH), you can't brush aside. Giving me the specifications of the aircraft is not necessary. It is an obsolete aircraft. Apart from Nigeria and maybe Afghanistan, no other Country is buying this aircraft. As for the Navy seals using the super Tucano aircraft, please read up the USAF light attack program. You might also want to look at the list of militaries operating these aircrafts (operating, not buying the aircraft in 2020 like Nigeria). I guess Nigeria is the only Country still keeping the Florida based company that produces these aircrafts afloat! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Embraer_EMB_314_Super_Tucano#:~:text=Developed%20from,the%20Embraer%20EMB%20312%20Tucano. |

Sir, The benefit of a superior argument is that there is no need to resort to insults... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_active_United_States_Air_Force_aircraft businessinsider.com/all-the-planes-in-us-air-force-2016-5?IR=T military.wikia.org/wiki/List_of_active_United_States_military_aircraft Those are 3 different pages with the aircraft in the US military inventory (the not-so-classified ones at least) Your A-29 you are hyped about appears on the LAST line of one of the lists as the most basic TRAINER aircraft in the U.S. military inventory. Sure, you can modify it to carry some payloads, but don't even begin to imagine that you have top of the range modern warfare performance from LIGHT aircraft designed for LOW Threat environments. Your country is using trainer aircraft as the bedrock of her airforce. Think about it for a minute. Best mil unit in the world? The SAS may want to disagree with you on that one. Enjoy your day. Deepthoughts: The SEALS spotted the potential of the Tucano and fought hard for it to be adopted to provide better close air support, transforming it into the Super Tucano. Navy Seals don't and won't disclose anything about their combat operations because their operations and activities are always classified. It says right there in the article that the Navy Seal spotted spotted the potential of the Tucano and fought hard for it to be adopted to provide better close air support. They obviously deployed it because they highlighted the RESULT by saying the Tucano proved them right and it performed so well that they they bought more of it. Nothing was omitted and I did not write the article, you on the other hand omitted or didn't read and understand the article and specifically the fact that the Navy Seal deployed clearly deployed the plans and was so impressed with the Tucano that they bought some more to add to their stable. |
