Hell is real according to the Scripture. It is a place where lost souls go to after death.

Psalms 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

Psa 16:10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

It is a place that burns with fire and a place of severe torment and sorrows.

2 Samuel 22:6 The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me

Hell is not a physical grave like some false religious people teach.

It has gates, graves don't have gates.
It has keys, graves don't have keys.
It is so deep that it is used to compare great depths.
The Bible says it can be avoided. But you can't avoid the grave -
Proverbs 23:14 Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.
But hell is not the final destination of lost souls
The final destination is the Lake of fire which is worse than hell.

Revelation 20:13-15
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. note

14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

The Lake of fire is literal. Let nobody deceive you and lost souls will be tormented day and night.

The false prophet and the beast that deceive the world will be thrown there.

20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

After this incidence, Jesus established his 1,000 years reign on earth. After the 1,000 years was over, Satan who was bound for these one thousand years will be released. He will deceive lots of people and attempt to fight the Saints. But fire will come from God and consume him. And Satan himself will be cast into the Lake of fire.

10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Notice that at the time Satan was cast there, it acknowledged that the beast and the false prophets which were cast over 1,000 years before are still there. And the Scripture says they shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

The Scripture is so clear. There is no ambiguity to the interpretation. Anyone who teaches otherwise is a false teacher. Give your life to Christ and save yourself from this furnace of fire.

The bolded has a symbolic meaning just like the rest of things mentioned in the book called Revelations!

But since you feel like you've gotten the sense, go out there and make disciples of people of all the nation baptise them in the name of the God who is teaching you this concept! Matthew 28:19-20

Watchout whether you're going to make real disciples or gaggles of no virtuous repute! Matthew 7:16-20 smiley

If everything in the book of Revelation is symbolic, it means Jesus himself is symbolic, heaven is also symbolic and God himself is symbolic. Please hear yourself again. How does forever and ever become symbolic? Symbolic of what?

"They will be tormented there forever and ever"

Means the memories of evildoers will continue to linger in the minds of those who survive the end of wickedness! Just as the thought of those destroyed in Noah's day, Sodom and Gomorrah keeps lingering in the hearts of faithful servants of God till today! Matthew 10:15, 24:37

Whenever anyone mention "Noah's day" the thought of a global deluge comes to mind, and at the mention of "Sodom and Gomorrah" the thought of fire from heaven comes to mind! smiley

Did you study English in school? The subject of discussion is not the survivors but the victims. The pronoun 'They' addresses those in the Lake of fire. Don't make a verse say what it did not say just to win an argument. The book of Revelation warns those who add to it and the punishment for such people is that all the plague in the book will be added to your life.

Don't digress. I have proven to you that hell fire is real. And it is not the physical grave. The terms use in connection to it doesn't fit a physical grave.

The Bible talks about sorrows of hell.
It also talks about pains of Hell.
It also talks about the gates of hell.
Our Lord Jesus said he has the keys of hell.
Jesus also talks about damnation of hell -Matthew 23:33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

The Bible always talks about souls being cast or thrown into hell. Do you throw people into graves? Dead bodies are gently lowered into graves but lost souls are cast into hell.

Besides, it is humans that bury people in graves but there is nowhere that humans throw people into hell in the Bible.

I could go on and on.

Ken4Christ, you quoted Psalm 18:5 to prove this your “hellfire” is an actual place where sorrow abounds abi? So are you saying the person who wrote that psalm—righteous man David, was grieving over languishing forever in a place of fiery torment? For what offense exactly? embarassed

The bolded need thorough meditation before you can understand but you've made your mind over already so there is nothing that can save you now unless if you want to be saved by putting your FAITH to the test.
So just as James said that if you're thinking you believe God exists is nothing because demons also believe there's God but can they be saved? never! James 2:19-20
Why? Because their belief in the existence of God is dead since there is no fine works to back their faith. James 2:26
So instead of concentrating on the meaning your corrupt, greedy, confused religious title chiefs gave the scriptures, why not think of the FRUIT this FAITH of yours is producing? Matthew 7:16-20 smiley

I want to get something clear about hell,

1. There's hell, it's nothing more than the common grave;

2. God will use fire to punish unrepentant sinners, but the fire won't be everlasting;

3. There's not going to be any fire were human beings will be roasted, God says such thing has never enter His heart;

4. Fire is symbol of the end of the sinners;

5. hell fire is the place sinners are tormented after death till the day of Judgment when they will be judged and cast into the lake of fire.

I guess if you know what man is, you will know how nonsensical thia your statement is..

Man is made up of a body fashioned from the dust of the earth + God's breath.. At death the body goes back to the earth where it was taken from and the breath returns to God who gave it... Why will God send his breath to hell.. What is the wisdom in that? It is just the body that was created differently, the breath is the same in all men and women.. Some Bible translation use spirit instead of breath.. We are all God's spirit living in a physical body made of dust..

Please read ecclesistics 12:7 and psalm 104:29-31

Now its you who's sounding off cos you clearly dont understand the makeup of man. Man is made up of body, soul and spirit. So when man dies, the spirit goes back to God while the body goes back to dust but the soul remains in a state of inactivity in the grave (hell) until the day of final judgment when they shall rise to be condemned to the lake of fire (permanent death). That is why the Bible says in Ezekiel 18: 20
The soul that sinneth, it shall die.

Mr man go and study your bible very and try to be civil in your approach to issues/ people next time. Its too early to start using vain words.
