Jesus gave a comprehensive breakdown of all that we should expect spanning from about 70AD when Rome sacked the temple of God to this present time that we are in, which is 2020AD.

The prophecy is still evolving, we have spent about 1950 years inside this prophecy.

One important point to take note of in the understanding of this set of prophecies is that Jesus did not lay them out in a chronological fashion, he laid them out systematically. The attempt to interpret chronologically has been the reason many Christians have not been able to understand them. These is why people are talking about Christians being killed for the sake of the gospel at this time; or they are saying the tribulation is just starting; or some seven year tribulation period or some pre-tribulation period is just commencing; and so many other oddities.

By attempting to analyse the verses sequentially or chronologically, they miss critical timelines of interpretation.

Also, the interpretation of this chapter needs a basic understanding of world history, with this basic understanding, one is able to situate events in their proper timeline and this helps to better unravel the prophecies.

Verse 3-5

This passage opens with Jesus’ disciples coming to him, privately, at the Mount of Olives.

The first thing that Jesus tells them is that they should take heed that no man deceives them; many a Christ and Prophets would come in his name. Jesus enjoins them to be careful and vigilant so that nobody deceives them. We need to understand that this is not the beginning of the prophecy in a chronological sense.

Deceit and deception by false prophets and fake anointings cannot be the beginning of the prophecy because the disciples and other followers of Jesus could not have been deceived as of that time. They were the eyewitnesses, so how can any false prophet or fake anointed come and deceive them when everything happened in their very eyes? 1 John 1:1

Jesus really emphasized this issue of false prophets and fake Christs, I think this is the prophecy he emphasized the most to his disciples

Verse 15-20

This is actually the opening part of the prophecy, and it begins with sighting the abomination of desolation in the holy place. Jesus commands his disciples to flee when they see this sign. He asks them to make haste to run away from Judea when they behold this abomination standing in the place where it ought not.

What is the Abomination of desolation that Jesus is talking about? The presence of Babylonian soldiers in Jerusalem was the abomination that led to the first desolation. This first desolation happened on March 16, 597 BC. This was the destruction of the first temple and the dispersal of the Jews, until, Cyrus King of Persia, allowed them to return home in 538 BC Ezra 1:1-4

The presence of Roman soldiers in Jerusalem was the abomination that led to the second desolation which happened March to September 70AD. The Jews were brutally massacred and forcibly dispersed by the Romans. Many of them were sold into servitude and slavery, not a few of them became gladiators fighting to the death in the arenas of the Roman republic.

Jesus was warning his disciples that immediately they see the Roman soldiers in the place where they are not supposed to be seen, they should flee Judea. They should flee into the mountains Psalms 125:2. This is the opening of the prophecy

As you can see, we jumped from verse 3-5 to verse 5-20. The reason we have done this is that as I have told you in the opening comments, the prophecy is not laid out chronologically or sequentially, Jesus expounded them systematically

Verse 6-14 is the second part of the prophecy

When they have fled, and in the aftermath of the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple of God, there will be a lot of disturbances in the world, wars and famines and pestilences. Their dispersal to the nations would bring them great suffering; having to leave among people with no knowledge of God, and having to bring these same people into the knowledge of God

They would be hated of all men; they would betray one another at the pain of death; many false prophets, christs and messiahs would arise purporting to be able to save them from their tribulations. Because of the grief and turmoil, the love of many would become cold. In the midst of all these trouble, only the steadfast and the ones who holds tightly will be saved.

The gospel will be preached to the whole world. This work has already been accomplished.

Verse 21-28

All these suffering is the great tribulation Deuteronomy 4:30.

Slave trade, Jim crow, Neocolonism, colonialism, fuel price hike, increasing taxes etc

It started when the abomination which leads to desolation was sighted in the holy place, and the consequent fleeing into the mountains, as Jesus advised. It was going to be the worst tribulation, and there shall never be any like it ever again. God shortened the time of those days (of the end) because of the brutality (Mathew 24:22) otherwise no flesh would have been saved. The suffering would have been so much that it would have been impossible to remain a Christian in the face of it all: Its either all flesh dies, or all flesh becomes corrupted.

This is the case during the tail end of the tribulations Ezekiel 35:5.

For the sake of the Elect, precious in the sight of God, those days were shortened. The tribulations ended on the 14th of August 2017. If the tribulation did not end, Nigeria would have been in the throes of a very bloody and cruel war by now. God thwarted their depraved, cruel, evil, devious, wicked, terrible, atrocious, and iniquitous plans

Because of the grievousness and brutality of the tribulations, during its time, many people would look for false saviours and false messiahs to succour/save them; these men and women with fake anointing would abound in those days, they will show mighty acts, and great signs and wonders, but Jesus had warned us already that they are fake. Were thy not abundant? We are all living witnesses.

Jesus emphasized this issue of false prophets and Christs more than any other sign.

He talks about these false messiahs in verses 5, 23, and 24. He knew that his people will be very vulnerable to the antics of these false people at those times (now). If it were possible, these false prophets and false messiahs would deceive the very elect! We know this isn’t possible. They failed.

Jesus said it like ‘’If they told you that a mighty prophet is in the desert, don’t bother yourself; if he is said to be living on top of Mount Kilimanjaro, don’t bother yourself; if said to he is living on some deserted island off the coast of Nicaragua or Antigua and Barbuda, don’t bother yourself; if they say he is spewing fire from his mouth and smoke is coming out from his ears and nostrils, don’t bother yourself; if he turns Ekwueme and says it and it happens as he says it, don’t bother yourself. IT IS NOT I’’.

In verse 28, Jesus says when he comes back all eyes will see him, no eye will miss his return, he will come back like the sun that travels from the east to the west.

No matter where you are you must see the sun as it arises or as it sets!

Jesus gives a critical symbol and marker to help us know and judge the time of that period, he says where the carcase is, there the eagles will gather.

This verse is a time marker. Carcase is dead body, eagles are the leaders of the world, Anglo/America is the place of the carcase. When you see the eagles gather in the place of the carcase during that particular time, it should tell you the time period in prophecy that you are in.

What is a tribulation?

A Tribulation is the consequence when Israel sins against God and her cup is full and she needs to be punished to expiate her sins and help her to start a new beginning.

As far back as Deuteronomy, Moses had warned the Israelites and had shown them what to do when they entered a tribulation

Deuteronomy 4:24-31
24 For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.
25 When thou shalt beget children, and children's children, and ye shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make a graven image, or the likeness of anything, and shall do evil in the sight of the LORD thy God, to provoke him to anger:
26 I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.
27 And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you.
28 And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.
29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.
30 When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;

This last one, which ended on the 14th of August 2017, is the greatest and terriblest tribulation that Israel has ever faced. Israel was displaced from the land; discontinued from heritage Jeremiah 17:4.

Israel, that God gave a very soft life, was made to work like a jackass. She was made to grind and toil, she is impoverished, and the country where the majority of ancient Israelites can be found today is now the ''Poverty Capital of the world'' Nigeria. This is hell.

I shudder at what these animals had in store for us had the Most High God not put an end to the tribulation on 14th August 2017. Even as the tribulation has ended, you can see how Nigerians are suffering today.

If God had not ended the tribulation, today, we would have been in the midst of a most bitter, cruel, and bloodiest war

30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

We see a progression of events leading to the end of ‘this generation’.

The darkening of the sun and the moon not giving her light is an eclipse.
Heaven is the code word for the leading ruling nations of the earth led by America.
The stars of heaven are the rulers and principals of heaven, they fell on that date.
Powers of the heavens shall be shaken means that they will experience a jolt in their powers, they fell but are allowed to continue to the end because the rulership of the world cannot be in a vacuum, there has to be rulers maintaining some semblance of rulership and order until Jesus Christ the King is revealed in the clouds of heaven, and he sends his angels to gather his elect from the four winds of heaven.

The Bible refers to the whole earth as heaven, this is because the whole earth has become Rome, and we have all become Romans Acts 22:27.

After we have seen the sign of the son of man in heaven, the next sign is that all the tribes of the earth shall mourn. Something will happen to make all the tribes of the earth to mourn. This is the day of judgement Isaiah 63:1-3. Very likely an asteroid will hit the earth, it will cause earth-wide devastation, and the epicentre will be in heaven.

The sound of the trumpet is thunder. It will boom as the asteroid hits the earth’s atmosphere and disintegrates. Because of the size of the meteor, the earth's atmosphere will not be able to burn it up completely, fragments will make it to land and cause devastation.

When the dead in Christ who are in their (mental) graves hear the sound of thunder, the sound of the voice of their God, they will hurry to his call and come out of their (mental) graves. They will resurrect and become like angels; having super-human, super-mental capacities and capabilities.

Jesus uses the imminence of summer after spring to describe the urgency of his coming upon the sighting of the signs that he is giving which will become very apparent just before his return. He says ‘this generation shall not pass till all these things are fulfilled’’ meaning that there will be a culmination of prophecy, and thence, his sure return before the end of this ‘’generation’’.

We take note that most of the prophecies of the end-time were fulfilled during the 1st term of presidency of President Donald Trump.

Heaven and earth will pass away meaning that the word of God that has already been spoken is surer than the universe itself. Jesus informs his disciples that despite the preponderance of evidence pointing to his imminent return, and signs and wonders, and unraveling and fulfillment of prophecy, no man or angel will ever be able to know the exact day or hour of his return. The sole prerogative to decree the day or hour lies with God. I think this is because God has not made up his mind on the hour, because he never hides anything from the son. If he has made the decision, his son would know
Even the angels of heaven, the messengers of the goodwill of God toward all men, these men who are his very Elect, do not know the date.

In the days of Noah, the people continued on as they did during the time that Noah was warning them and building his ark; they continued partying and feasting, marrying and giving in marriage. They did not even notice that Noah, obviously the object and subject of cruel mockery, insane jokes and hilarious jests, had entered his Ark; they had not noticed that he had completed his ark, and they had taken no note that the doors of his ark had been shut. No one noticed all these until the floods swept them all away.

God will eventually select and separate his people for good. He will allow tares and the wheat to grow together, the sheep and the goats, and then he will separate them on the last day. The sheep will be redeemed and rewarded with eternal life, and goats will be punished. Wheat will be gathered up and pampered. Tares will be burned up, no one has need of them.

Jesus reiterates again that no man knows the hour of his return and urges us to watch carefully, steadfastly, and faithfully. If the man of the house knows the exact hour the thief would come, he could even prepare a whole armed brigade to defend himself and his family. We will all see the signs, but no one will successfully predict the time of his coming. It will catch everyone by surprise.

Our watch is in our patient continuance in well doing which comes with great and excellent sure promises of eternal life and bliss.

Jesus advises us to always be ready because in the very hour we think it is unlikely for him to return, that is when he will return. The wise and faithful servant is the one constantly providing meat and nourishment for the flock of God. That wise servant will be made the ruler over all the Lord’s goods.

The foolish servant who begins to think that the Lord has delayed his coming and so begins to smite his fellow servants and also indulge with gluttons and the drunkards, this servant will be caught flatfooted by his Lord’s return. And will be given his place among the hypocrites where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth.

The chapter opens with Jesus departing from the temple (Jerusalem) and his disciples coming to show him the buildings of the temple. Jesus tells them that no stone will be left unturned in Jerusalem. This passage is symbolic. Jerusalem is the temple of God, and the people are the stones used to build the buildings of the house of God, Jesus himself the chief cornerstone. 1 Peter 2:5

The sign of the son of man in heaven

The Lord is a man of war, and his sign in heaven is war! Exodus 15:3, Revelation 12:7. The sign of the son of man in heaven is this coronavirus pandemic. President Trump has called it the invisible enemy and declared war on it. President Trump declared war on corona virus. Since World War 2, like the effects of a real war, the world has not seen this level of socio-political and economic turmoil that this pandemic has brought. Like a real war too, people were locked down, who moves about in the midst of heavy artillery shelling and aerial bombardment? This is the point we are, in the fulfilment of Bible prophecy.

After we have seen the sign of the son of man in heaven, the next sign is that all the tribes of the earth shall mourn. Something will happen to make all the tribes of the earth to mourn. This is the day of judgement Isaiah 63:1-3. Very likely an asteroid will hit the earth, it will cause earth-wide devastation, and the epicentre will be in heaven.

The sound of the trumpet is thunder. It will boom as the asteroid hits the earth’s atmosphere and disintegrates. Because of the size of the meteor, the earth's atmosphere will not be able to burn it up completely, fragments will make it to land and cause devastation.

When the dead in Christ who are in their (mental) graves hear the sound of thunder, the sound of the voice of their God, they will hurry to his call and come out of their (mental) graves. They will resurrect and become like angels; having super-human, super-mental capacities and capabilities.

Jesus uses the imminence of summer after spring to describe the urgency of his coming upon the sighting of the signs that he is giving which will become very apparent just before his return. He says ‘this generation shall not pass till all these things are fulfilled’’ meaning that there will be a culmination of prophecy, and thence, his sure return before the end of this ‘’generation’’.

We take note that most of the prophecies of the end-time were fulfilled during the 1st term of presidency of President Donald Trump.

The sign of the son of man in heaven is the corona virus disease or Covid 19. As you can see, America and all the top nations which are the heaven of our world have had the most number of infections and death.

Poor countries like Nigeria which are the hell of the world have had almost insignificant number of infections.

I hope you are now seeing that the corona virus pandemic is the sign of the Son of man in heaven. In Nigeria and Africa which is the hell of the world, the pandemic is all but dead. But in America and Great Britain, they are still talking about increasing cases and lockdown and shutdowns.
