Fact Check: Charles Idahosa is the Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo state

Chief Charles Idahosa, a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Saturday said those organizing June 12 protests across the country were being sponsored to discredit the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“As far as I am concerned, these protests are totally uncalled for. Those who organised it are being sponsored. Yes, we know things are bad in the country and the economy is worse”.

“But the truth is that all the problems Buhari is confronting now were inherited from previous administrations, it didn’t just start in 2015. Since coming to office, Buhari has done so many positive things such as the revamping of the rail sector.

“I am very impressed with that because if we can have a good rail network, there will be no danger when we travel on the highway. But like I have always said, Nigerians should learn to believe in the ballot box.

“If you are not happy with Buhari, instead of sponsoring criminal gangs to go and shoot police and burn down INEC offices in order to create an atmosphere of insecurity, why not wait till the next election in 2023 and vote out his party through the ballot? There will never be an Arab Spring in Nigeria if that is what they are thinking.”

There's absolutely nothing wrong with this protest.

As long as it is made clear that no one is armed and aiming to depose the president, then they have the right to request improved governance.

Infact, today's protest as I've seen so far shows that it is well organized and people actually learned their lessons from the Endsars rubbish they did last year where the UGM of today were set free from the prisons.

UtuokeAlcoholic:
So Buhari must go is not aimed at deposing the democratically elected president?
I listened to one of the protesters who doubles as a celebrity, he said the #buharimustgo is only a slogan, meant to awaken the government to improve governance.
This is entirely contrary to Sowore's idea when he formed the slogan.

Tinubu is fighting back. Tinubu is sponsoring secessionist movement in the west as well as the Buhari must go campaign in the same southwest

I just hope that the presidency can be able to decipher this before he destroys what is left of the regime

This one is just looking for an Appointment with APC government

Kenneth Okonkwo (living in bondage) said worst things about his people and was singing praises unto Buhari

Ask what happened to him before you open your gutters and disgrace your family and the good people of Edo

A WORD IS ENOUGH FOR THE WISE

Ignore the goat below me he sold his future for 30k per month

Nigerians are not hungry enough I swear ...was about increasing my former managers salary the fo.l was still supporting buhari ...next mistake he made I sacked him straight

Middle class people should stop making sacrifices for this poor people who put us in this mess ....when they beg u for money tell them to go meet government

Poor people that have nothing to lose are waiting for middle class to lead protest for them ...so that government can pay them 2000 to scatter it ...

When hunger beat Nigerians , then protest would occurs not this thing they are doing today

Sponsored to discredit the government.

I'm still searching for the credit the government has that could be discredited.
