Do you have the first idea of physics? If they shot in the air the bullet goes up and comes down somewhere I'm their own immediate vicinity, and is not more harmful than a thrown stone.

Secondly, its obvious that they were not firing live bullets but blanks. The explosion emitted from those guns is nothing like what ak47 fire looks like.
