Respect has to be earned, and in this case, the soldier erred. If he was on an emergency assignment, he should have explained it to the people on the queue. He would earn respect that way.

True, the uniform should be respected.
But if on an emergency assignment, questions can be asked:

Does the army not provide emergency feeding money for them(thinking reason to go to an ATM when on an emergency duty)?

Why would it be during an emergency that a soldier will remember ATM?

If on an emergency task, then being at the ATM is WRONG. Then it's likely not an 'emergency'

Perhaps banks can mount ATMs in the barracks
Counties that follow due process, no one jumps queue, irrespective of your status. Nigerians should at least learn that.

He has to respect a democratic society. Why won't he queue? He should have used the ATM in their barracks or walked into the bank and asked for special treatment. He will seat down and they will treat him to luxury while bringing him the 5k he wants to collect.

You want to know the truth, if it was inside the barracks the ATM was situated, he would queue cos anybody can be superior or influential.

Let's not encourage what's is wrong. He was wrong. If he had relax, am pretty sure someone would have asked him to go before them cos even his presence there is unsettling.


The truth I Nigeria is a lawless nation and anyone who is in the position of authority have this sense of entitlement that people must fear at their presence. All in all, Service men and Old people are not meant to queue to receive service .. They are first to be served even if they come late but Charisma is everything...
