Anyway, talk is very cheap. Who gives a ratass to the ranting of ants? Wike has established himself as a moving target. There is nothing he can say now that will change the picture he already painted.

Target from who ?

[[s]b]*Igbo denial by Igbos* [/b]

Sad that the issue of Igbo denial by Igbos has been trending on social media in the past two weeks. I am a very proud Igbo man, I do not see any reason whatsoever to want anyone who denies Igbo for whatever reason even though they bear Igbo names, speak Igbo language and dress Igbo to discuss the issue with me.

I am Igbo, I am a workaholic, I am progressive, I am an achiever, I develop both my Homeland and other people's homes, I create wealth from nothing, I manage and grow wealth to the amazement of my neighbors, I raise my children to be at the top of the very best around the world.

I am Igbo my villages and towns I develop with my wealth, I am Igbo, my daughters and sons are far better taken care of and better looking than that of neighbors, I am Igbo I break the glass ceiling in every aspect of human endeavor more than any tribe in Nigeria.

I am Igbo without stealing from public coffers, with the policy of suppression, victmization, deprivation, exclusion, denial of my rights all these stacked against me, I still live better quality life, my children get better education, my wife is better taken care of, she is more beautiful, I live in better homes in every city in Nigeria, I own properties in Maitama, Asokoro, Ikoyi, Banana Island, Victoria Island, Lekki Phase one, etc.

I am Igbo I own the best and biggest transport companies, the best and biggest airlines, I am the biggest importers, I am the manufacturers of everything from edibles, bikes, car parts and vehicles. I own Aba, Owerri, Nnewi, Enugu, Abakaliki, Awka, Onitsha, Umuahia etc all beautiful Cities adorned with eye popping mansions. I am Igbo I have eliminated mud houses, thatched and corugated iron roofing in all my cities, towns and villages, I am Igbo if I don't agree to live in your state you do not enjoy my benevolence, my developmental prowess, your economy depends only on hand outs from Abuja, unlike smart Lagos who welcomed me with open arms after the fratricidal civil war refused to implement the abadoned properties policy and now I am helping to make it a mega city, the sixth largest economy among African countries even though it is not a country.

I am a proud Igbo man I will always prevail because survival, wealth creation, is inbuilt in me, I take your swamp and turn it into paradise.
I have my shortcoming as human but my positive side is far more than the negative. I am not a victim, I am individually richer than my neighbors, I do not want to be born any other tribe, I will remain Igbo now and the life to come.

You are confused about me, you do not know whether to love me or hate me. But 100% you secretly admire me and desperately want to be me, you have a potpourri of emotions about me, you loath me, you love me, you fear me, you envy me, you admire me, you deny me, you want to suppress me but you secretly wish to be me.

I do not want you to identify with me if you don't want to. I do not see any reason for this conversation, I don't want to try to convince anyone who is denying he is from my great tribe because I prefer you dey your dey and I dey my dey. What will an Ikwere, Ijaw, Efik etc do for me that I have not done for myself?

If Nyesom Wike is threatened by IPOB he should take care of the issue as a governor. If he refers to the people he had issues with as Igbo and they are Igbo, what is the hullabaloo? The man says he is not Igbo, why should I want him to be? What extra value will he and his Ikwere people add to my wellbeing? *Absolutely nothing*

Was he not the one who accepted and divided my peoperties?
What did he do with it, is he better than me now, is his City of Port Harcourt not full of old dilapidated houses with corrugated iron roofs, was the city not at par if not better than Lagos before the civil war? What is the comparison between it and Lagos now?

Abeg make all peripheral tribes park well, I don't give a flying f**k about them so should every real Igbo.
I am Igbo, I am Southeast, I am the greatest!
An Ikwere man should be begging me to accept him as Igbo. What does he have, fossil oil that will be useless in less than 4 decades from now?
Well I have oil in my Southeast Igbo land, Imo, Abia and Anambra have.
My biggest resource is human capacity, you definitely can't beat that.
Copied![/s]

The level of self deceit in this write up is laughable.
All this because Ikwerre rejected you? grin
Shame couldn't allow you to compare your villages you call city to PH, rather you had to call Lagos grin

If your villages you call cities are so good and you are proud of them why run to PH to seek for better life? Why are your people ready to do anything in PH just to remain in the city? Many are even hustling to get Rivers State local government identification.

Your biggest resource is human capital, yet your region is the poorest in the south and the most underdeveloped region in the south, even with the smallest landmass grin.

How many Rivers person or say Ikwerre man/woman run to the SE to search for better life?

Wike and Ikwerre people are not Igbos. Peeps like you without sense of group dignity is exactly why Wike and his Ikwerre people are using Ndiigbo to wipe the floor.
Grow a brain biko.

How exactly is it your concern if Fulani are draining oil wealth in Rivers state?
Why are you crying more than the bereaved, where are your senses?

Wike and his people think Igbos are their problems, why won't they, when peeps like you have refused to grow up. You seem to suffer from a form of Stockholm syndrome.

Ikwerre under Ogbakor Ikwerre had made it clear they are not Igbos, Ikwerre people on the average are the most Igbophobic group you will find out there. Wike again demonstrated it by killing Ndiigbo in Obiigbo, yet your brain cannot get the message.
You are still here saying Wike is an Igbo man, are you retarded?

The Ikwerre people speak a language similar to Igbo. They bear Igbo names. I totally understand that they don't want to be classified as Igbo, but can someone objectively tell me how and why these people aren't related to Igbo people? Why is their dialect similar to Igbo? How did it all happen? If they don't want to be associated with the Igbo people, why can't they stop bearing Igbo-sounding names or use a dialect that isn't similar to Igbo?

I am a northerner, but southerners often mistake me for an Hausa person, and I try to educate them that I'm not. Yes, I speak Hausa, but that's because it's the lingua franca of the North. In the 1900s, only a handful of people in my village, who had interacted with hausa traders, understood Hausa. Bura is our native dialect and it is not related to Hausa the way Ikwerre is related to Igbo. A Hausa man won't understand one word in my language. That's how unrelated both languages are. My people were mostly farmers, while the Hausas and the Kanuris of Borno state were traders, who transacted business with Arabs. For my people, learning Hausa became a necessity because how else would you negotiate with a Hausa-speaking trader. As time went on, almost everyone in my village learnt Hausa, and some of them converted to Islam and married Hausa traders. At the time, my people weren't Christians, as the British hadn't arrived to proselytize. We worshipped nature and different gods. Islam came to my village first and we learnt Hausa out of necessity.

Years later, the British came and some of my people who hadn't embraced Islam, became Christians. In my village today, almost everyone speaks Hausa and Bura. Hausa is not our language, our forefathers learnt it for trading purposes and passed it on to us. Bura is our mother tongue and we still speak it, which the Hausa man doesn't understand because it is unrelated to Hausa. Now, because I speak and understand Hausa, shouldn't I protest that I am not Hausa when southerners assume that I am just because I speak it? I know a lot of southerners who have settled in the north for years and speak perfect Hausa. Does that make them Hausas?

That's why we have indigenous Christians in Kebbi, Borno (my state), Adamawa, Bauchi, Southern Kaduna, Niger, Nassarawa, the FCT, Taraba and Plateau state who have their own native dialects but understand Hausa because their forefathers had to learn the language to enable them trade with Hausa people. Some of these people were converted to Islam by Hausa traders. They are Muslims, but they are not Hausas. They speak a language a Hausa man will never understand.

There are people indigenous northern Christians call Hausa Christians. They are Hausa people from Zaria, Kano, Zamfara, Sokoto, etc who left Islam and embraced Christianity. Their language is Hausa and that's what they speak. They don't have any other native dialect.

Do you see why southerners should stop calling everyone from the north Hausa? If you meet a northerner, whether Muslim or Christian, ask them what their language is? If they are Zaar, Tangale, Bura, Angas, Berom, Chibok, Tera, Waja, Jukun, Kuteb, Nupe, Zuru, Bachama, etc, please, don't call them Hausa even if they speak Hausa. Don't be unfortunate! These languages are not dialects of Hausa. They are not related to Hausa in any way.

Now, back to my earlier question. Why is Ikwerre related to Igbo but they do not wish to be classified as Igbo?

Thats the reality, the manipulators know them as igbos when the chips are down.

I was in PH when Peter Odilis was seeking second term. Non Igbo speaking parts were using the Igbo thing to campaign against him. You will hear things like "Na that Igbo man you wan vote for? " "no vote for igbo man oo" this same language goes on in other states mixed with igbos.
In such cases you will see the igbos in upland standing up for the person and making sure he wins.

It's annoying to hear some of the igbos in riverine claiming Benin when infact the non igbo speaking parts of their state sees them as igbos.

They are just deceiving themselves with identity crisis.
These same people forgot that once the upland igbos remove hands in their case they will become minorities in their respective states and may never rule as governors again because they can't win elections without igbo support.

I heard Wike Is also an Igbo man
You heard only rumours (probably from IPOB) and not facts.
Here are facts from wike himself;

The governor said in the wake of the Oyigbo crisis, people peddled the rumour that he is chasing Igbos out of Rivers State which is not true because the state has an enduring relationship with the Igbos.

Tell your people, Rivers people will continue to live together with Igbos. Don’t allow your sons to tell you lies. Igbos are innovative and hardworking. There can’t be Nigeria without Igbos. Nobody should take them for granted. But that doesn’t mean you must allow criminals to spoil your name.

“If I hate Igbos, I won’t appoint your son into my state cabinet two times. But you have to obey rules. Don’t allow criminals to dictate to you”.

All the redded quotes shows wike referring to igbos in third person, ie them, you, they.
Re: Wike: Rivers Will Continue To Be Home To Igbos by gidgiddy: 7:59am On Nov 10, 2020
Wike's ignorance stinks to the high heavens. To say that Rivers state will continue to be home to Igbos is an insult to the indigenous Igbos of Rivers state. Does Wike know that the so called boundary adjustment of 1976 saw large parts of Imo state carved into Rivers state? Half of Egbema is in Ohaji-Egbema LGA in Imo, while the other half is in Egbema Ndoni LGA in Rivers State. Igbo-Etche used to be in Imo, it was carved into Rivers state and renamed 'Etche'. Obigbo was carved out of Imo state, put in Rivers state and named Oyigbo.

How can a Governor not know that Igbos are indigenous to several Local governments in his state?

Despite ENDSARS protest turning violent in Southern Nigeria, several Police stations being burnt and loss of lives on both sides, protesters and security forces, only Wike decided to make his own an IPOB issue

Governors were running around trying to calm the situation down and avoid further loss of lives and property, Wike was running around shouting IPOB, blaming the group for violence, with absolutely no evidence, and inviting the Army in.

Today, more lives have been lost and more properties destroyed. All for what? Because a Governor is blinded by hatred.

The only people clapping for Wike are those who hate Igbos. But Wike should know this, those people who are clapping for him will never see him as any different from an Igbo man and when he finally realises he has no friends is when quick sand will swallow him

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that the state will continue to be home to people of the Igbo Ethnic Nationality.

Governor Wike gave the assurance during a meeting with South-East Governors, the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo and the Igbo community in the state at Government House, Port Harcourt on Sunday.

The Chairman of the South-East Governors Forum and Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, has warned Igbos to be wary of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) because the outlawed group is trying to instigate another civil war.

He said they were in Rivers State to ascertain the veracity of the news circulating in the social media over alleged killing of Igbo people living in the State. According to him, their findings has proved otherwise.

Umahi after listening to Governor Wike’s narration of the atrocious activities of IPOB in Oyigbo that culminated in the imposition of curfew in the entire Local Government, warned Igbos to be wary of IPOB as the group was bent on instigating another civil war that will result in the murder of Igbo people.

The governor said he finds it nauseating that IPOB could go to Benue and Rivers State to foist its flag and claim the territories belong to the Igbo people. According to him, Igbo leadership are opposed to this stance by IPOB.

Umahi, who revealed that he has a huge investment in Rivers State, urged Igbos living in the State to respect the Government and people of Rivers State in order for them to continue to live and do business in the State peaceful. According to him, Ndi-Igbos cannot support any form of criminality.

Also speaking, the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief John Nnia Nwodo said the meeting has reinforced the existing affinity between Igbos and the people of Niger Delta.

He described Governor Wike as a champion of restructuring of Nigeria and a man who loves justice.

He explained that the leadership of Igbos cannot remain aloof while some misguided few who did not experience the brutal reality of the last civil war continue to fan the ember of disunity.

Nwodo, said he was elated to hear from Igbo leaders that under the leadership of Governor Wike Igbo businesses have continued to thrive.

Former Rivers State Governor, Dr Peter Odili, lauded the Igbo leaders for the peace initiative and decision to visit Governor Wike.

He stated that every governor desires peace to govern and Governor Wike is no exception. He stressed that the people of the State endorse every measure taken by Governor Wike to ensure lasting peace in the State.

Present at the meeting were the Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr Nkem Okeke, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu. Other dignitaries are Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Dr Mrs. Ipalibo Harry Banigo; former Governor of Rivers State, Sir Celestine Omehia; the chairman of Rivers State Traditional Rulers Council and Amanayanabo of Opobo, King Dandeson Douglas Jaja, National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Uche Secondus, among others.

https://www.vanguardngr.com/2020/11/rivers-will-continue-to-be-home-to-igbos-%E2%80%95-wike/

Certain fools in Igbo land should stop parading themselves as Igbo leaders. If I had been in the silly gathering where the bolded accredited to Wike was said, I would have stood up and walked away. It is completely idiotic for Wike to make such a braindead statement. Ndigbo are ancestral and integral part of Rivers State therefore it is moronic for the overgrown Bini kid to make such childish statement. What is the difference between "Rivers people and Igbo"? Are there also Rivers people and Ijo or Rivers people and Ogoni or Rivers people and Ikwerre? Sometimes I believe Nigeria is a major problem of Nigeria. In a well informed society, a sheep dung such as Wike has no chance on earth to become a dogcatcher talk less a gatekeeper.

Igbo is not just a language, it is about culture and tradition. The same ikwerre people due to low self esteem changed "Obigbo" to "Oyibo" and all your community names from "Umu- Rumu-" which is why you have Rumola,Rumomasi, Rukpakwolusi et al. My maternal grandfather has a house in Ikwerre and his original C of O still bears "Umueme" today renamed "Rumeme". Now Wike killed his brothers in Oyibo and you are here saying he killed Igbos. Who is slower? Tell me now, are you Igbos or Ikwerre?

Wike and his group are the only people on earth that derived their ethnicity from state creation.
Cos b4 the 1976 state creation, there was no tribe known as Ikwere.
The yerobber muslim miscreants here keep cheering them and calling Igbos land grabbers as if Igbos have ever needed any other tribe to attain the success the enjoy today.
If they don't want to identify as Igbos then let them be. Is it by force undecided?
You guys are yet to accept yourselves fully but want to include others who do not wish to associate with you by fire by force.
Many of the tribes worldwide actually have different origins from the ones they identify with.
There is something called tribal identity.

Dreadful:

Then who is he? He is Igbo!
These are the stooges you planted in Igboland to divide us.
If we allow this nonsense one day somebody from Ukwa in Abia State will wake up one morning to say he is not Igbo.

Brother, we are the only tribe amongst the three major in Nigeria that does this. It's very embarrassing when I see our people doing this. No true Igbo man will deny his ethnicity. Igbos in Rivers, Delta and other states proudly identify with us and of course we are proud of them. Brother Igbos are too big to be dragging this issue with a small group of confused people.

Let's get some respect by allowing them to wallow in their foolery.

DapperGuy:

The moment you stole from yourself, you begin to deny yourself. Some people would even attempt to cut their noses to despite their faces. A used tool has no self importance.

Good writeup.

Dpharisee:
*Igbo denial by Igbos*

Copied!

The way you Igbos carry yourselves makes it hard for Anambra indigene to join you people.
You guys have no dignity at all. Stop simping for ordinary Ikwerre. What do they have that you can't get on your own?
