Almost 4ml on roofing alone. If we add parapet then it's 4ml+. Then if we add the cost of rain collector

Where do we go from here as a nation

Parapet for this house took about N800,000 or more, scaffolding took close to N150,000.

This is a list of all the items I bought and used for this roofing work. Please note that materials used for the parapet is not included in this list, this is for the roofing wood works and roof covering only.

1. 2x4x16 roofing wood (660) x 969.69 = N640,000
2. 2x3x16 roofing wood (400) x 480 = N192,000
3. Bag of 4" nails (3) x 12,500 = N37,500
4. Bag of 3" nails (3) x 13,500 = N40,500
5. Transportation/loading = N28,000
6. Roofing carpentry N350,000
7. Roofing tiles (600 sqm) x 3,550 = N2,130,000
8. Roofing tiles accessories N300,000
9. Roofing tiles installation N90,000
10. Roofing tiles transportation N35,000
11. Miscellaneous N15,000

Oga spyder880 are you sourcing worker from ibadan or are they handling another job for you in ibadan?, if so, if you source them from ibadan I like the way you spread the wealth all around the country to engage our unemployed youth.

I might be wrong but it seems plastering is becoming a very handy skill for some workers in the West.

I met some of them during my last visit home to Mbaise, plastering a duplex. We had to call them to give their quotation for our ongoing school project and they gave a quotation which was far cheaper than the ones we got there.

The work came out very clean and they finished in accurate time also.

@Mr Spyder880, do you edit your pictures before posting, cos I've noticed the wall bonding in all your projects are always very clean and smooth

That cost seem reasonable considering the current prices of materials, Last time I bought 12mm rod the price was around ₦2800.

Super well done for another great job almost completed. But I just have some observation of mine. I don't understand the structural value of these high roofs houses in Nigeria especially Eastern part. No offence to anybody this high roofs just add over 25 percent cost to the roofing cost. All that space not utilised for anything other than aesthetics, they are not converted into additional rooms space on the roof attic or useful lofts, storage space or even converted into a man cave. That is one aspect of building business in Nigeria that I think it's still lacking behind. The full utilisation of this high roof space being created for good looks only and not used for anything. I think architects and engineers should advise the client on full space utilisation, I stand to be corrected it's just an observation. Keep up the good work my brother and your team.

No, I never edit pictures, what I do sometimes is picture selection. If I see a picture that has workers faces or other things not supposed to be seen online, I remove the picture. I send all my pictures unedited.

You should be happy that there are no two front pillars to complement the roof. That's an improvement.

I suspect that when you give our Nigerian architects a contract to design a building, most of them draw the front pillars and roof first, then try to figure out the rest.
