Good for her! Most girls are very rude when you call them for the first time. They will not even allow you to explain yourself. Lesson learned the hard way!! 2 Likes |

Jashub: The real greatest breach here is even posting private interviews on social media..........without consent of the interviewee. If she could afford to retain legal counsel, sue the idiot and the firm that contacted her in such an awkward manner and had the guts to post it on social media.... Nonsense clout chasers. 1 Like 1 Share |

Jashub: I have read all your responses to this post. You are obviously not very familiar with contemporary HR processes especially as it regards recruiting a fresh member into your organisation. There is no standard for a first time discourse with a potential employee. This was a very befitting approach as it took the lady unawares and exposed her underbelly. She is rude, uncouth arrogant and has a very limited scope. Perhaps this will be a good lesson to everyone; Never ever be in a hurry to ask the person on the line who he/she is. In the course of the conversation this will be naturally revealed. I have had the privilege of being on a Phone Interview panel trying to recruit fresh graduates during the pandemic. My experiences in this case will fill a book. Most candidates only become courteous (albeit pretentiously) when they suspect we are calling in respect of their career future. Many Nigerians have no sense of courtesy. Be calm in responding to calls. If the person has your number and make the effort to call then he will make his intention known at some point of the conversation. 3 Likes |

kingxsamz: International companies / Local Structured companies by standard do not send jobs via your personal number just your email. I can't speak for non structured company recruitment methods because I don't work for one. Its called professionalism. You send mails with company authorised channel, emails and your profile. |

At the end of the day, this might sound crude but we and some colleagues were discussing this and this is my exact response to it based on my working experience. Life is not supposed to be fair, its understandable to have a bad day, but Emmanuel here even though was wrong has the power to give or not give jobs and he exercised that power. Just make it easy on yourself by being emotionally intelligent or fake it like the rest of us. I'm sure I'd like to tell people to fvck off daily, but there's repercussion to that. Simple as that, at the end of the day, Mary needs the job not Emmaneul. So Mary has to learn how to be courteous, she doesn't have emotional intelligence. |

Jashub:boy be wise, in HRM or industrial psychology, there is what we call interrogative interview. They are interviews or questions set to make the potential employees look uncomfortable. He or she might not see it coming, but the management tend to provoke you just to know how you react.. |

Jashub:That is not correct, in running personality test, several methods are used. Including deliberately delaying or ignoring applicants at interview venues to watch their behaviours over the cam. She is simply mannerless and unfit for a job that will expose her to meet other persons. Imagin it was a prospect client? |
Re: Lady Loses Job To 'Who Gave You My Number?' Question On WhatsApp by Nobody: 12:55pm On Nov 28, 2020 |
Korllami007: Emmanuel is wrong based on professionalism introduce yourself with a pure intention and also its more appropriate using company official channel to communicate. I can't think of any proper company that recruits via WhatsApp or engages in company dialogue that can't be tracked. Unless na startup or small company. 1 Like |

willyjacs: No proper structured companies sends via WhatsApp I know of. Every communication on behalf of the company must be tracked, that is why you are given company mail , so people know you represent the company. You're not being objective here. I've worked for numerous organisations most international and local. I'm yet to see a proper company send company dialogue via WhatsApp unless its a Business account and thats usually the sales or support channel because Business WhatsApp account can be integrated to the system and tracked. |

Re: Lady Loses Job To 'Who Gave You My Number?' Question On WhatsApp by kingxsamz(m): 1:03pm On Nov 28, 2020 |
pcguru1: They sent it to her whatsapp. Whatsapp, just like every other app like Gmail, yahoo and so on are being used in passing and dessimation of information. Sending it through email ( an app) is not really different from sending it through whatsapp, as they're both used for both personal and business related things. That's why I said, who made such standards that anything work related must be sent through email only? Who? Is it part of the law? And how many people even check their mails? A lot of people feel comfortable receiving information through whatsapp, because it's direct and straightforward. I don't even get notifications for my emails a lot of times unless I check. Also, how did you know the lady dropped her email? Didn't she also drop her number? If she didn't want a private message as you all call it, shouldn't she have dropped her email only? Saying they should have used email and not whatsapp is highly irrelevant. There's only one person at fault here. |

Re: Lady Loses Job To 'Who Gave You My Number?' Question On WhatsApp by Nobody: 1:09pm On Nov 28, 2020 |
kingxsamz: I will say this again, I'm not dealing with candidate preference, no proper structured organization uses WhatsApp to communicate to its candidate for a job recruitment. Unless the company is not proper or structured. I'm not talking about one man business. If they do that is bad practice. Then again like I said this is based on companies I've been in and what Organizational standards are set to. Even in Nigeria , its discouraged to use personal lines to chat on behalf of business but na naija we dey. It is highly unprofessional unless it is an assigned number by the company. Though I'd like to make a clarification, you can have phone numbers in resume. |

Re: Lady Loses Job To 'Who Gave You My Number?' Question On WhatsApp by kingxsamz(m): 1:14pm On Nov 28, 2020 |
ehissi: First of all, the lady's contact was not displayed, all you have there is a random name and chat, which could be fake. Secondly, it wasn't the Emmanuel guy who posted it. So on what ground do you want to sue? |
Re: Lady Loses Job To 'Who Gave You My Number?' Question On WhatsApp by Nobody: 1:14pm On Nov 28, 2020 |
Korllami007: The corporate world doesn't care about what she went through o, if you cannot fake civility like the rest of us, omo you go learn hard. E.g the case of the NASA tweet. It costs nothing to say sorry , I am Mary, who am I speaking with and okay how may I be of assistance ? I dey para, but corporate settings you must suck up your attitude and fake it, if you want the job. |

Re: Lady Loses Job To 'Who Gave You My Number?' Question On WhatsApp by ehissi(m): 1:17pm On Nov 28, 2020 |
kingxsamz: And on whose behalf was the poster acting on? The only way details of a private interview will enter social media, is if there was a breach on the part of the person who took/copy the interview, who acted on the behalf of the prospective employer. The existence of the screenshot itself is proof........ |
Re: Lady Loses Job To 'Who Gave You My Number?' Question On WhatsApp by kingxsamz(m): 1:18pm On Nov 28, 2020 |
pcguru1: You keep talking about structure and standards. I'm asking who made it so? Just because emails are used most times does not mean using other methods is unprofessional or not properly structured. Where did you get the notion from that emails are used for an organization, but whatsapp is for one man business? abeg. |
Re: Lady Loses Job To 'Who Gave You My Number?' Question On WhatsApp by kingxsamz(m): 1:21pm On Nov 28, 2020 |
ehissi: Is proof that what? I could pick up another phone and make up such conversation. Did you see anyone's number displayed in that chat? No. Anyways, either real or fake, people need this. People need to have sense. You must learn to have manners. Even you yourself will never recruit such lady. |
Re: Lady Loses Job To 'Who Gave You My Number?' Question On WhatsApp by Oktane: 1:28pm On Nov 28, 2020 |
Jashub: There is absolutely nothing wrong with the way the interview was conducted. His Salutations should have calmed her down; 'Hello Mary'. He greeted her with her first name. What more was she expecting? The least she could have done is to be a little patient. But no need to argue about this. The message has been passed. Even Mary would have learnt her lessons judging from the way she begged later on as if her life was dependent on that job. Important question for you Sir; With benefit of hindsight, do you think she will repeat this behaviour consciously in a subsequent experience? That is the best answer to the question regarding if she was wrong or not. I rest my case. |
