Oga don't say what you don't know!! This is one of the best universities in the world. At least they have been ranked twice in the best 100 universities in the world and top 10 in Africa. I agree when you argued about how many church members can afford it, the fees are way too expensive though, but they are amongst the best you can find in Africa.

False. CU has never been ranked in the top 100. Maybe you meant top 1000. No Nigerian university is ranked in the top 100.

1 million naira for a child to stay in a proper academic environment, learn and get his or mind developed....if the child spends 7months on campus in a year..thats less than 150k per month ... there is a big difference between something that is overpriced and something u cannot afford. Hustle and no born pass ur power, u go begin see things appropriately

Don't mind them, they would go on birthing lots of children they cannot take care of and send them to places where they would be out of school for almost a year. How many grads from public universities are sending their kids to same universities they graduated from? People think this ASUU strike is just small, in the future when Nigeria becomes irredeemably broke, ASUU will go on strike for two years plus

Thank you for saying my mind. Most successful people succeeded by grace, hard work, making use of opportunity that comes your way and the hunger to succeed.

Abi Dangote graduated from covenant too.

You mentioned a man whose family has been very rich for generations? A man whose patriarch was once West Africa's richest men? C'mon, find a better example. Before you mention Otedola, his father was former governor of Lagos and Otedola's children attended the best schools in Nigeria and UK.

CU has been ranked twice as the university whose graduates are the most employable.

In many German school, university education is free.

In many Europeans schools excluding the UK, their fees are cheap too. As long as you can attend a school where you will be taught in their lingua franca, their schools are cheap. Though they have the expensive ones, but when you look at it, it is mostly international students that go to the expensive ones. The locals go to the cheap ones.

You are correct with Germany but across the rest of Europe, no top school charges foreigners $2000 as fees. CU is a top school in Nigeria, which top university in Europe charge foreigners $2000?

Do they get automatic employment when they graduate? Bcuz minimum of over 4million would have been spent on a student before graduation. This is ample enough to start a business and become a billionaire if prudently invested

How many billionaires has Nigeria produced in the last decade and how many do you know that started his/her business with 4M naira?

You people just come online spewing OKOTO MEOW everywhere

Even post graduate programmes are very expensive...
tunapawizzy:

I also have an issue with how the money used in starting the universities were raised from church members who cannot afford to send their kids there. They should have made it a proper business set up, and so the donors operate as shareholders, they make profits or losses as the case may be....But about what the university charges...sincerely it is not out of the roof. Education is very very expensive, Public universities is largely subsidized by the government....lots of public institutions charge very small for the regular degree programs BUT use other means to raise funds to complement what they get in running the schools, d reason diploma and predegree programs are very expensive, see unilag business models for example.

How much is the operating cost for European universities, including lecturers’ salaries, compared to the operating costs for Nigerian universities?
Does that matter

Federal universities cost not more than 50k. Yet we say this country has given us nothing.

Did you know that Americans borrow "student loans" to pay more than this covenant school fees just to attend university. Many of them never pay their loans back fully till death.

Yet we finish school, get government job and still refuse to resume early to work or attend to our fellow citizens unless they give us bribe.

Knowing how the Nigerian society works, my question is are they employed because of who they know or what they know.
I mean these are people whose parents are wealthy and can have their kids employed with a phone call. Lets talk productivity. How many of these graduates are actually leading in all sorts of breakthrough and research. I will be very interested to know about that and if you have any information, please enlighten us

you are talking of ASUU and Universities you no talk about primary schools

In my child school, we were "greeted" with increment in school fees during the last PTA meeting. My wife wanted us to withdraw him away from the school and i asked her this simple question
which school in the area has the same quality input/output that the school has

Those ones shouting up and down, ask them if their kids/wards is going to Gofment Primary/Secondary shukulu

Taxes cover the cost but Nigerians are too poor to pay such taxes and even if they can, they get squandered.

Gerrard59:
The future is private universities. Most millennials' parents attended public schools, but they (milennials) attend(ed) private schools - from primary to secondary, and to extent, increasingly, universities. In the future, these millennials' children will attend private universities. How many people are willing to send their kids to public schools these days (primary to secondary)?

However, this is not how things should be in a well-run nation. We're abdicating the responsibility of providing quality education to private individuals which is wrong as the vast majority of the populace will always attend public institutions. In a place like Singapore, the rich, middle class and lower class individuals attend public schools and public schools in saner places are where quality education is provided at affordable costs. Abdicating the responsibility of providing quality education to private individuals will get to the stage of the US where it is your economic background that will say if you're to obtain quality education and not your brain power. However, unlike the US where there are surfeit of scholarships and financial assistance, we don't have such here.

Will I send my kids to a private university if I remain in Nigeria? Affirmative! But is that how things ought to be? No. It should be that parents who desire to send their kids to private universities do so because they desire to, not because that is the only option of obtaining quality education for their wards.

The class war in the future will be epic to watch.

The offered courses are what any serious person can easily achieve first-class or 2:1 with the convenience of the learning environment. the laboratories are equipped with almost modern technology. most of the Federal universities can not compete with them.
Likewise, responsible staff works there.

The school fee is expensive to many Nigerians might be because we have too many children to cater for. with only one child, that will be fine.

The reasoning and the mentality behind this post is exactly the reason why parents who can afford it should consider enrolling.

You clearly have no ide the quality of the graduates of Covenant. Otherwise you would not have uttered this misguided statement.

You that attended a non-glorified secondary school, see how you are behaving in public.

See millions upon millions being paid to go to glorified secondary schools called Universities in Nigeria.
All you see and hear is department of
Business admin, Political science, Law, economics, philosophy ,psychology, accountancy, arts and culture, name it: with little or nothing to hear of Medicine Engineering, science and technology. So our educational systems not geared towards a particular goal. And yet when they finished they say no job.
That's why I always refer to our Universities as glorified secondary schools and our Secondary schools are glorified primary schools.
