Another ignorant point, it is not just calling the person by skin color but the underlying meaning behind it. If a person is not important to you, you call them names like boy, girl, you, pikin etc. If a person is important to you or at least deserves your respect, you use their title or name.

Let me give you a brief history lesson on racism, whenever slave masters wanted to call a male slave they would use the term, 'boy'.
