Not all anambra guys have thick igbo accent.. Some of us are well refined, have an accent.. Which was learned of course due to education and association... But.. I know one thing with anambra guys... They love to use their language slangs to hype their women..i guess that's what she means by being romantic.. About the alpha males.. I can't speak for all anambra guys... But I for one.. Believe relationship is a team work commitment. From your post.. I guess those that carry alpha male persona are mostly the business men.. I might be wrong though... Anambra dudes rock jari.. I won't say Anambra dudes rock. My experience and those close to me with them hasn't been palatable at all. I'm sorry to say that I disagree with the accent part. I'm yet to meet any Anambra man without a conk igbotic accent. Even the one previously married to a close friend who is a lecturer in one of the most prestigious federal universities in Nigeria has an igbo accent thick enough to break a concrete wall. A certain ex of mine who was born in Lagos but moved to Anambra speaks heavily accented English. My old school mates from Anambra state all speak like proud Igbo men. ALL THE Anambrarians I know speak with an accent. iKid you not. Please don't use 'romantic' and 'Anambra man' in the same sentence. The most romantic men I know are Tiv men, surprising enough. They are even more romantic than Yoruba men. The alpha male persona is also common with the men. ALL their men I know are alpha males, and they cut across various sectors of the economy. Perhaps it's just the alphas I've been coming across, I don't know, but that is the impression I've gotten so far. 2 Likes |

More like...?
They marry outside their state, that I know. The few ones I know are very Igbotic and egotistical, but there are exceptions like J111333 who is a very nice person.
They usually have very thick Igbo accent, eg pronouncing Lexus as Lexoos. Some of them believe women should be like civil servants, i.e, seen but not heard. All of them, and I mean all the ones I have been aquainted with are VERY unromantic and are alpha males, so if you can cope with an alpha male then you have no fear. The bolded is very true. Most people can always tell that I'm Igbo when I speak, even without asking me. |

The afore mentioned Anambra ex grew up in Lagos but only developed the conk accent when he moved to the east to for higher institution. I have an old childhood friend from Abia state. The only time you will know he's Igbo is when he deliberately adds 'nna' when starting a statement. He speaks perfect English without any mother tongue interference. |

Anambra men are not romantic never!
Dont be deceived, even their women know what I am saying. Their mood is controlled by money and nothing else.
They dont respect women, rather they see them as chattel, that is a property. I dont mean to degrade them. What u see them say while doing business isn't what they portray in reality.
They have eyes for beautiful women. They are hardworking and business savvy.
They are fond of marrying educated women only to domesticate them as house wives except for few which are very rare.
Inspites of all this, they are brilliant people and most industrious in the entire igbo land. 3 Likes 2 Shares |
