Almost 50% of Nigerians are living in penury compared to 10% in India.

Anyway, Nigeria is world's poverty capital!

India has over 1 billion people. If 103 million live below the poverty line it means about 9 or 10 percent of their population lives below the poverty line.

If Nigeria with 200 million people have 90 million people living below the poverty line it means 45 percent of Nigeria's population lives below the poverty line.

What this means is that out of 100 Indians about 9 to 10 percent are extremely poor and in Nigeria out of 100 Nigerians 45 are poor.
