A y, the leadership of the South should call for reform without wasting time again.
I actually look at this guy bragging with pictures of yam, carrot, cucumber etc and shake my head in disbelief. Here in Edo state, apart from onions every other produce up there is irrelevant here. Almost anybody can grow his own yam, tomatoes, pepper here. Even lecturers who have spacious compounds plant yam inside their compound. The main food here is garri. We only eat foreign rice. How someone could sit somewhere and delude himself with the thoughts of me starving because I don't have access to cucumber, carrot and cabbage is beyond me.

Oga shut up! You sound depraved. Your people are desperate to smuggle their products down because of monumental losses and you're foaming like a demented baboon. What if the East decides to seek reparation for the mindless destruction of Igbo business and property and the killings whenever your impoverished people decide to cause envious mayhem in the guise of meaningless riots. You suffered pain at Shasha and Nigeria has to fold up. You guys have so much and yet your people starve. What an irony! Just keep quiet! angry

Check am, the fg give you money and fertilizer to make agric products but can't install business sense in you.

How do you plan to sell to Niger, Chad, Benin and other neighboring countries while those countries themselves are trying to smuggle same products to Southern Nigeria to sell? Does that make any sense? What will be your medium of exchange? Can you spend those countries currency in Nigeria? And above all, how do you plan to sell to those who have low purchasing power compared to the Southern Nigeria?

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Ask China.

The North is just labelling themselves the white enemy of the country.

Painfully, it will also affect the innocent northerners when the cold war begins.

Omg! What a lovely write up you just have. That's very educative, instructive and highly empowered to the people of the South.....I really don't have much to say cos you have said all that makes so much sense to whom has a brain to decipher the contents. The Northerners are just a bunch of sycophants, ok could remember when their herdsmen were raping and killing the southerners, most of them on nairaland were so happy, the likes of Arewa1stson of motherfucker Uthman Dan Fodio and one useless Yener or Yessner and some other Fulani bandits here on Nairaland. Now the table has turned against you. The southern people have been roughly woken up to realisation that you guys in the north are just bunch of marauders, bandits, kidnappers and rapists that kills even after collecting ransom from the southerners. Really, you are shocked I guess that the southern people can wake up so late and so quickly also....don't be shocked like your useless and clueless Buhari and his cohorts of undeserved, incompetents lots of Fulani extractions that he's been appointing to rule over the shinning stars of Nigeria....how on heaven would a dullard Fulani from an unknown land come to my land and be dictating to me the owner of the land....Fulanis or rather Hausa Fulanis cos we don't even know the difference again since you Fulanis rapists have raped and married most of the Hausas just to make them forget their existence as a people....I pity you guys cos southern people are one and in UNITY...injustice to one is southerner is injustice to ALL Southerners. We are so much ready to send you all Fulanis goats and cows to your motherfucker Futa Jallon or rather make you all to speedily go and been having intercourse with your 70 virgins in Hell Fire.....Tribe of Maggots and Cow Dungs lockers...

Alba3:
A decision has been made to starve a section of the country. To be forewarned is to forearmed; it's a great hope that governors in each region of the South will call meetings to preserve the lives of people that elected them. Although for decades, the Federal government supports agricultural development of the North through countless irrigation system, free and subsidized fertilizer and making sure there is available market for the produce by banning importation of these produce. The billions of dollars being used is mainly from the Southern oil, ports and customs' duties.
Most of the states in the South are self sufficient, they can grow whatever they need except places like Lagos and PH. The major staples in the South is from cassava, yam, plantain, rice and all sorts of cowpie which people are readily growing. The SW people eat more of Amala and Ewedu, Eba, rice, etc with vegetables everywhere. The SS and SE likewise the same except in place of Amala and Ewedu, they have Akpu and Ogbono. There are lots of food crops, fruits, chickens, eggs, fishes that readily available to eat.
However, because of the population of the people in the cities and our lack of good leadership that should have envisaged the plan of the North before now, the south would have to endure for some time to fill up the gaps. This is a blessing in disguise and God used this to reveal the deadly plans of the North.
To avoid eating poison in future, Northern foodstuffs and perishable should be banned in the South. Bad chemicals like sniper is being used to preserve their beans and the cows are a kind of curse to our spirituality... people are being killed for the meat you eat; humans are mating with what you eat! The other things the North brings can easily be planted if not lazy. Get a small place to grow your pepper, onion and tomatoes. For the wise, this is opportunity to make money. There are lots of countries in W/Africa that are looking for where to sell their stuff like beans which are being infested with weevils, also cows.
Open grazing should be thoroughly prohibited in the South. The government should do everything to block foodstuffs coming from the North. The southern governments should support mechanised farming in crops and animal husbandry. Benin Republic people's tomatoes are rotten away, they should be brought in; so also cows and chickens until we can produce what we consume fully. The Northerners should not be allowed to head ports and customs commands in the South again. Northerners readily bring cows mainly from Niger & Chad but Southerners can't do same through Benin borders. We should care less about where they are boasting to sell their produce to. All I know is that the whole world is eyeing Southern markets; We're over 100 million in population with lots of purchasing power than anywhere in Africa. The North wants to put an end to their father Christmas' market.
A wise people of the South should prevent mass killings through poison
of food by avoiding northern cows and food, even if they decide to start bringing them. Most expecially, the leadership of the South should call for reform without wasting time again.

No body is lazy to farm in d South, even the bankers own mini fish ponds, some av farms for grains, most teachers av farms but the Fulani cows nd less patronage from fellow Southerners is d reason y they got discouraged. This is the best opportunity for all d Southerners to unite and even shun d North even if they rescind their decision. Agricultural revolution is needed now in d South and with what I know they will invest in mechanized farming. I stand with Afenifere that this could turn to be blessing in disguise if we manage it well. We must not beg d North to lift this embargo. The immediate pains can't be compared with the lifelong benefits.

Your assertion cannot work because you don't have enough land especially in the south to grow these food crops. The rainfall distribution in the south is 95% all year round which is not favorable for some cereals.
If you know a little agriculture, you would have known that some types of soil aren't good for some crops.

As for the eastern states, Cameroon is ever ready to provide for the right money. You ruined your free access, now you will have to compete with smugglers and indigenous farmers down south.

Sense is indeed very vital in whatsoever one does in life.

We won't even block your access to petroleum products.... Cos that will be the end of your region. We will only boycott your products to teach you are very vital lesson. The person with the money is the king, not the seller

Bros, tell am..

I wont lie, watching this unfold has made me laugh cheesy

I don't know that we northerners a wise people until now,we will not go burning and destroying our properties like what happened during #endsars terrorism (for I would not Call it protest),to show express our disbelief ,but rather we now take a suitable options to teach them lessons,
you are foolishly claiming that you would boycott northern goods ,boycott it.and see ,if not you are going to continue eating bats, rats etc ,whereby we we can supply fuel from others countries as we are doing now ,and we most continue receiving fuel allocation from FG since its national cake

No one should fault decision by our farmers and transporters who decide not to move food to the south. This is the most civilized response to sundry provocations.

Certainly better than retaliations against innocent people.Northerners feel the pinch too, but it is worth it.

Respect the Arewa!!

All you have done in the past one year is to burn down the Northern markets in the Southeast, slaughter the Cows and their herders, burn down Mosques and every Quran in it, chase the North away and take over their Properties.

You killed Northerners in Abia, did we retaliate? NO

You killed Northerners in Imo, Did we return the favour? NO

You attacked Northerners in Enugu, did we come back for return match? NO

You attacked the Notherners in Ondo, did twe attack your people living in the North? NO

You killed and slaughtered many Notherners in Oyo, did we retaliate? NO.

So why are you wailing and kicking because we have now reduced the velocity of our food supplies to the South?

We are NOrTh poor, but poorly managed.

Arewa shall rise again!!

Congrats over your farm products, please all you northerners should come and pack all this dirty beggars scattered everywhere in the south, you guys produces so much as you claimed, but attached to poverty like super glue.
