You guys should know the difference between a normal king and a priest-king. Go and read 'Arrow of God' by Achebe. Nri, Arochukwu and other towns had priest-kings, not this current system of warrant chiefs. Ahaba had a confederate system akin to what the Swiss practice now. We had five quarters headed by five chiefs. This five chiefs had a leader. So you can call it a 'first among equals' type of system. This present Asagba-ship was gazetted by the British in 1925.

Not every community in Anambra state has a king before the arrival of Europeans that is my point.
Even in Abia we have few exception like Abariba and Arochukqu etc...
