McSquishi: So Nigerian doctors only come from Nigeria What about the Nigerian doctors born and trained in the states?? Why are you adding doctorate degree holders into the mix?? When the premise is about MEDICAL DOCTORS? According to that aamc.org site 5% of black people overall are doctors and that includes Nigerian and AAs, both are black. I don't care about the ethnicity and numbers Break down, percentages will do just fine. 1 Like 1 Share |

1Sharon: This person is so smart they ask “outside of agriculture where was African American labor utilized” as of agricultural labor was not the source of wealth production and therefore the center of nation building. “In the pre-Civil War United States, a stronger case can be made that slavery played a critical role in economic development. One crop, slave-grown cotton, provided over half of all US export earnings. By 1840, the South grew 60 percent of the world's cotton and provided some 70 percent of the cotton consumed by the British textile industry. Thus slavery paid for a substantial share of the capital, iron, and manufactured goods that laid the basis for American economic growth. In addition, precisely because the South specialized in cotton production, the North developed a variety of businesses that provided services for the slave South, including textile factories, a meat processing industry, insurance companies, shippers, and cotton brokers.“ https://www.gilderlehrman.org/history-resources/teaching-resource/historical-context-was-slavery-engine-american-economic-growth This person is so smart but apparently not smart enough to know the basics of history or how to read a book. Sad Even assuming all African people enslaved in America did was provide their skill and labor to produce Americans agricultural needs, that would be quite enough. People will make themself appear an idiot all to put down Black Americans. Cant even acknowledge the most basic of agreed upon facts all so you can keep hating us. Stay in your country and be great since you’re so smart... 1 Like 1 Share |

1Sharon: See, I knew you were a dummy I added “doctorates” because medical degrees are a type of doctorate. there aren’t stats to tell us how many Nigerians/Americans earned medical degrees in the US. I only found stats for doctorates altogether. I then said even if all those doctorates were medical degrees that still wouldn’t account for the 70%+ number. I was being generous, you get it now You will note with many statistics you find including what I shared it is based on how one identifies. So if one identifies as Nigerian they will be counted as such for these surveys if Black American they will be counted as such. I don’t believe any one of the sources I shared explicitly said these were all Nigerian born folks. That’s why I included Nigerian/American. Yes, the link I shared said Black doctors are 5% of doctors, that is 45000+ Black doctors and that includes the less than 5000 self-identified Nigerian/American doctors. The math again: 380000 Nigerians + Nigerian American live in the USA https://www.migrationpolicy.org/sites/default/files/publications/RAD-Nigeria.pdf and around 4% of them hold doctorates of any kind (juris doctorates, philosophy doctorates, medical doctorates). That’s about 15000 doctorates. So even if all those 15000 were medical doctorates it still wouldn’t reach 70%+ of Black doctors (45,000+)... You can go on in your fantasy and pretend that there is an invisible race of American born Nigerian doctors floating around to make up the gap in the myth vs the facts but a fantasy is all it will be. If Nigerians were so inclined to be doctors there would be more than 75000 trained in your whole entire country... |

1Sharon: Exactly my point! White supremacy means white worship due to historical dominance. Whites being at the top, blacks at the bottom. Now that's a double whammy for Nigerians who worship whites , don't you think. 1 Like |

McSquishi: All Caribbeans and Asians were subject to the UK? Even if this was the case, show me the policies giving assisted immigration to those ex- colonies in that time period? Show me where I called your ancestors cows? The idiot doesn't understand what an analogy is. Oh, I thought you were saying those ppl were given incentives to easily emigrate and now emigration is now due to poverty and instability making them leave their homelands? Again, Nigerians are found allover the world in many countries that are not world-powers and far anti-black than white nations. You are not needed, you are self-important. Africans LEARNED agriculture. They initially were hunter gatherers. They knew zilch about agriculture. Whether they were managers of agriculture and whatnot, the point is slave labour in America was hardly utilised outside the fields and you are being disingenous for claiming African Americans built America. Slave labour is a poor way to built an economy, that's a reason why it is outlawed. Slave labour still exists in Africa today and there is nothing to show for it. Private slave masters are the main beneficiaries. I am born and raised in the UK thank you very much. African Americans are a liability to America not the opposite stop being disingenuous. Every area dominated by black americans eventually goes to shit, even rich black folks don't want to live in the hood. Go ahead and make your excuses, but allow Nigerians to make their excuses too or you'll be a damn hypocrite. You want your grievances acknowledges but want to dismiss the grievances of others. |

McSquishi: Why didn't you post this part of your article, you disingenuous bitch? In addition, Williams contended that it was economic self-interest, and not moral convictions, that ultimately led to the abolition of slavery. It was only after slavery came to be regarded as an impediment to industrial progress that abolitionists in Europe and the United States succeeded in suppressing the slave trade and abolishing slavery. Here's another article contradicting yours, now what? https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2019-08-25/how-slavery-hurt-the-u-s-economy 3 Likes |

1Sharon: Thanks to the instigator on that other thread for letting me see your attempt at the last word... “Disingenuous bitch” lol Did you even read what you sourced? How do you think what you added from my source debunks anything I said or confirms anything you said about African American labor being inconsequential to the building of America? Yes, after 400 years of an agricultural economy the developed world began to enter the Industrial Age and it was no longer an economic imperative to maintain slavery. In fact it was becoming more costly in some ways. I never typed my thoughts on what drove the end of slavery so why you added that from my source makes no sense, really? Why would I share that part when it’s off topic. The Bloomberg article you shared is hidden behind a paywall but I found it here for others to see https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bloombergquint.com/amp/business/how-slavery-hurt-the-u-s-economy for one thing it is in the opinion section of Bloomberg which means that it doesn’t have to pass the *facts* requirement that an editorial piece would. This person’s opinion is as useless as yours... Your article links to a study about the effects of serfdom on the Russian economy to claim slavery was detrimental to the US economy. The article you chose looks at the role of cotton in the 1860’s when slavery was abolished in 1865. There are 250 years worth of American history involving enslavement and you chose an opinion article that uses the last 5 years as a snapshot (4 of which included a civil war where the South fought to keep slavery)? The opinion article you chose didn’t manage to contradict much as it states: “In 1860, on the eve of the Civil War, cotton production represented just 5% of the U.S. economy. Crucially, relatively little — just 13% in 1830 — was used in the domestic textile industry. Virtually all the rest was exported to Great Britain.“ This only confirms what my source said about cotton being the major US export. Your article argues about the growth of the textile industry and whether slavery was needed for that, something that’s irrelevant and again uses the civil war era and post-civil war to make points ignoring over 2 centuries of economics. You chose a bad source, a poorly sourced opinion article. and then used my source thinking it debunked anything when it only confirms what I typed, as you shared: “it was economic self-interest” and “It was only after slavery began to be regarded as an impediment to industrial progress...” implying slavery was previously in America’s economic self-interest. Like I said before, you’re not smart. |

goody234: Yes, the Nigerian Coonery is over the top, I think they are the worst of all Africans when it comes to kissing white ass. They come to America with their preconceived white supremacists stereotypes of Black Americans. I swear if MLK and Malcolm were alive they would shun them. Sometimes I hate that our ancestors fought for their right to migrate here. They can be so embarrassing with their white worshipping and anti black American rhetoric. SMH. 1 Like |

Dobodobo04:Your post is filled with so much contradictions and hypocrisy. 1. The mindless killings in Nigeria is unbelievable with your ritual killings, tribalistic killings, police murdering you like flies (SARS), and not to overlook the citizens robbing and killing each other for material possessions. Call out your own communities, it shouldn't be seen as betrayal to do so. 2.You brought up Culture right, a culture where Ami cheats on Uche, her husband of 15 years lying to him that he's the father of their 3 kids when in reality his own father is the true father. Uche has worked his ass off supporting another man's children for 15 years who turned out to be his own brother and sisters. Is this the culture you speak of? Work on your own community before you criticize black Americans or any other community. 3. Summoning the elders in your community isn't going to stop old married Sasquatch from sexing young Ufufu, neither will it stop thuggish, yahoo boy Akeem from scamming people and impregnating Pagina, Homely, and Karumba, leaving all 3 of them single mothers. Your culture is primitive and need some serious tweeking. Your Culture isn't the best of all cultures, far from it. Check your community first. 4. On the contrary, Nigerians worship whites more than whites worship themselves and that's a hell of a lot. 2 Likes |
