rotadeco27:Nope. Resident doctors who are undergoing training to become consultants, are part of NARD, not medical officers who are not in a residency program. The only disadvantage is that you might not find the kind of specialist to see your father in a general hospital, and bedspace might be an issue. Soulseeker01 what's your father on admission for? What is his condition so that i can give you some suggestions? |

DrFunmisticGlow: Oh thank goodness u re a medical Dr. It means u understands the importance of saving ones life. The news says, the FG has met with virtually every request u presented except those directly under States Government. So the question now is why are you guys still striking that will warrant the Senate committee to say the doctors should be held responsible should people lose their love ones? In as much as I acknowledged the fact that the FG has failed the citizens in all sphere of life, but in a time like this, those who are trained to saves lives should trade with empathy when issue of downing tools are ordered by the body guarding ur jobs..... |

Abaman001:the federal government is lying through thier teeth, they have always been lying, my hazard allowance is still 5k. 5k hazard allowance is 60k a year. If i contract, HIV, or hepatitis B or COVID-19 or any other dangerous disease out there and NEED to be admitted, 60k cannot cover my hospital fees in a public hospital. on top of that i will be putting my elderly parents with comorbities at risk. Many doctors are also ill from thier line of work. Many are hypertensive, diabetic and so on. I am asthmatic, so if i contract COVID-19 during the of duty, my chances of dying is higher than others and my family will be left to suffer and nairalnders like you will only type RIP and forget that i existed in a few hours. My lecturers and colleagues that died of COVID-19, none of thier families have received life insurance benefits. We even had to donate out of our pocket for a houseofficer who died of COVID-19 in luth. His was the breadwinner for his widowed mother and sending his siblings through school. Please stop telling us to have empathy, our empathy has finished since june last year. We are tired. This whole thing is affecting our mental state. Many resident doctors cannot afford to take thier children to good schools unless they send them to the schools of thier teaching hospitals where school fees is subsidized or have to work 2 extra jobs to meet up school fees even eith the rigors of residency. It is because of issues like this i told myself that residency is not worth it in Nigeria. I will rather quit medicine and keep my certificate to open a boutique or cosmetics shop in Eko market and trade than to write those witchcraft exams callled primaries and enter a residency program where i will be bullied by my seniors and patients like you that will be blackmailing me to work for free. |

Racoon: Even Palliatives for health workers,'the senators are going to see to it'. It is unfortunate that when it comes to public good, Nigerian Legislatures are no where to be found. - declare your Salaries and allowances to the public,no way, then you refer to Fiscal Allocation Committee. This is unpatriotic behaviors,no more no less! |

jumpmasta: Trust me!! Many doctors abroad cannot do what nigerian healthworkers are doing. They will run back to thier country in maximum of 6 months, unless the pay is really good. Because passion for medicine starts to die from medical school, especially from clinical years. |

it's just pathetic. the money being paid to both doctors and govt officials are tax payers money.tge same money these people laboured for which lead to sickness. the govt are not bothered as they have the means to travel abroad.tge doctors want more money as they feel the govt is enjoying the largesse of the national cake. who get to bear the brunt? the same masses on whose money they are fighting for |
