Jarus, many nairalanders of the politics section are concerned about the whereabouts of aisha2. Last we heard from her was the morning after the alliance attempt between ACN and CPC. I hope everything is alright. She has always provided some nice moderating on the politics section. I and many others are missing her especially at this time. Kindly provide us with some updates.

Re: Attn. Jarus, Where Is Aisha2? by Jarus(m): 8:16pm On Apr 19, 2011
I'm still waiting for where I said I will resign if something happened and the contrary happened.

I staked my modship for 3 things during the election period.

1, That if Ribadu gets half of Buhari's votes, I will resign. Where on life is that guy, Tnubu4lyf, I challenged there? E don run away?

2, After PDP cleared Kano and some people said GEJ will defeat Buhari in Kano, I placed my Mod job for it, that I will resign if it happened.

3, That if Buhari did not defeat Sambo in his ward and Kaduna at large, I'll resign. This was the most risky, but I was so sure of my source in Kaduna, who knew the political mood.

Needless to say none of the 3 came to pass.

The only prediction I got wrong was claiming Buhari will get no less than 40%. But I was smart enough not to 'bet' my modship on that. I just mentioned it. And in anycase, I believe if we discount GEJ's votes by the inflated SS and SE figures, Buhari's % may come close to 40% plus.
And fyi, you can never find a post/place on NL here and elsewhere where I categorically said or predicted Buhari will win at 1st ballot. After the most optimistic of assumptions, I always concluded it will go into run-off.

I have spent more than 3/4 of my life following politics at the national level, to know what to stake something for what I am not sure of. This is not to say some events don't prove bookmakers wrong.

Meanwhile, I'll get in touch with Aisha2 for you guys.

@Jarus,
Since your Kano prediction came to pass as you expected (from your knowledge and experience of Nigerian politics) do you agree that the election was reasonably free and fair? At least free and fair enough to show that GEJ won.
Re: Attn. Jarus, Where Is Aisha2? by Jarus(m): 9:17pm On Apr 19, 2011
I have issues with some areas:

1, 90% plus voters turn-out in some SE and SS is very curious

2, The 1.1m votes GEJ got in Kano is suspect. But I may be wrong here.

All in all, I honestly believe GEJ still stood a greater chance to win without rigging, the difference would not have been more than 2m.

Although this one is normal politics, if AC had delivered SW to Buhari thru alliance, that 2m difference would have been made up for and run-off set in.

In summary, I believe there was rigging but it only widened the gap from possibly 2m to 10m, and if they had struck the alliance run-off could have happened.

@Jarus. Please dont join these almajiris who argue with sentimens and not facts. There was no '90% plus' turnout in any state. The allegation is just a way by CPC to cover for thier woeful performance in the SS and SE. Take a look at at the percentage of voters turnout in each state arranged in a descending order which I have produced below and you would see that some states in the north had even higher turnout that some in the SE and SS. While I agree that CPC and its supporters have a right to complain about the results, this should be done based on facts.

I disagree Mr Mod, I looked at the numbers again and again. In fact take only 70% of the votes of the SS or outrightly cancel up to six states and GEJ would still win the election. Buhari had no chance at all.
