The Old Covenant is an eternal Covenant between God and those of the blood of Jacob(gentiles are excluded) in much the same way that Jesus Christ, the New Covenant, is also an eternal Covenant between God and individual man(gentiles included).

Jesus Christ fulfilled the law on behalf of the Jews who would jump ship from the Old covenant to the New Covenant instead. And His fulfillment of that Law has nothing to do with you since you were never included as a part of it to begin with.

For the Jews who jumped ship from the old Covenant to the New, that meant they had to also abandon their worshop(trust and obedience) of the Old Covenant laws, switching over entirely to submission and obedience to New Covenant ideas of sin instead.
