Although Dr. Ahmed Isah, the Voice of the Voiceless announced this morning that the Brekete show would no longer continue after this month, he, however, rescinded his decision of stopping the show after listeners pleaded with him not to give ‘the enemy’ what they wanted.

Moreover he has apologized for his actions on air and some Nigerians called on air to appreciated him for showing remorse and apologizing having realized that he erred by slapping the woman who set the head of her brother's daughter on fire.

Personal I thing Dr. Ahmed Isah deserves a national award.

Nigerians...very disgusting hypocrites. They castigate this man for hitting a child abuser who attempted murder, but when some parents assault their adult children for doing something that differs from their beliefs, or when teachers or lecturers physically assault students, you'll see these same disgusting hypocrites support them because they also share the same dumb beliefs as the aggressors.

I don't know who this Ahmed guy is and I agree what he did is unprofessional as a journalist, but as much as you may feel it's wrong, as a human being, is it really?

Ask yourselves, in this world we live in, if someone that sets little children ablaze doesn't deserve to get slapped in the face, then just who does!!?

very reasonable submission here. Anyone conversant with his programme will attest to how quickly he loses his anger on the show and talks down on people only to start apologising later for his indiscretion after dehumanizing his guests. For a seasoned journalist that he likes to claim to be, he should be conversant with the codes of broadcasting and assault can never be justified under any guise. He should take anger management classes asap, it's getting out of hand

.for all we known the woman that was slapped might be having mental issues. Why else would anyone burn their own child? People don't have to Run mad before we know they have mental issues....depression itself is a mental issue. The man crossed big lines for slapping the helpless woman, two wrongs doesn't make a right. That man presents himself as an angel on the surface but I have always observed from little things that he is the devil himself.

In sacrificing yourself to helping people, don't become the monster you are saving them from. His actions shows he has anger control issues. Assault is assault. It doesn't matter who commits the assault. The right thing needs to be done.
If he had apologised from get go, it would have earned him more goodwill and show a truly remorseful person. This is just from excess pressure all around.
Don't just dismiss it as just a silly action.
If the assaulted lady decides to press charges, then that's the only thing he should worry about.
Nobody set out to bring him down. His actions caused all of this. It could have been a CCTV recording (Senator intimacy gadget) or a phone recording, that went viral. The BBC and the reporter didn't plan or ask him to assault someone when they are there. It could have been Channels or AIT or even a blogger.
He didn't sacrifice himself. He ran a radio station and used the mediation as anchor content. Radio stations are evaluated based on listeners, and he had a lot of that. It was a commercially successful venture that paid his bills.

If MTN or LNG MD should assault you and it was captured by a media house, will you say it was a silly action and you are trying to bring MTN or LNG down?

You will retain Falana and sue for billions...

I watched the full video

Most people are talking about violating human rights. What human right s does a murderer and a wicked soul have.

Everyone has suddenly turned eyes away from the main issue ; she almost burnt her niece to death and we are concerned about a mere slap?

He acted unprofessionally but he did what any angry person would do; he could have influenced the police to torture her, he could have hit her off camera and no one would know.

Without his influence NOBODY not even the police or Nigerian government would have done anything for the poor girl but she is now been medically attended to.

We have problem in this part of the world; we compare ourselves with western world on every issue, which yeye human rights; the father of the girl sef na mumu, else he would have done worse to the murderous sister.

No sane person from a developed country would do that to a person talk less an innocent child for being a " witch". Who certified her a witch? Is the aunt not confirmed more of a witch.

But we are talking of human rights, if he stops the show the helpless masses would still suffer.

This is africa, we can't apply every rule abroad here; he was been real, he was pained, he carried the matter for head like a father should, yes unprofessional considering his calibre of person, but then a "harmless slap" that is not commensurate with her evil act should not make us forget the main issue.

Nigerians are idiots. Put them in a position of power either real or perceived and watch them act like gods. For BBC to head an investigation means this is a well known secret. God decided to disgrace him on that given case. In the white man’s land that assault will erase any form of good he did for society. It means he can covertly force a widow to sleep with him as a guarantee to aid her family.

For a woman that chose to burn her own child because she was told the child was a witch,a slap is not even enough.dont just open your mouth and begin to utter gibberish.
