Sir in as much I support your comment that every workers need to be paid thats factual right.... but we,need too look into some, of this government owned establishment .... many of this civil servant are useless... I dont know of you ever walk to any like state owned hospitals, immigration... and many they will want u to bribe them to do their work
Being useless and demanding bribe are separate issues.
Many of you happily give bribes without asking when convenient.
This causes problem for the next person that refuse to give.

His points are grossly invalid. If he wants to cut expenses, he knows where to cut. It might surprised you to know that the salaries of 5000 workers are not up to the salaries of his aids and commissioners.
Most politicians have multiple ghost workers they collect money on.
He must think kaduna state belongs to him .
he's demolished a lot of structures and started a lot of projects without any clear plan on how to fund the reconstruction. And, according to him, he doesn't want another man to complete the works he started and take the glory. And knowing that he has less than two years to go, he is now desperately grabbing unto any straw to generate the fund he needs. Mark my words: EL'RUFAI WILL GET HIS MONEY ONE WAY OR ANOTHER NO MATTER WHAT WE DO. That man is evil.

The fuel should sell for 500. Mad people, its a welcome development, by the time Buhari and his deluded team members are done with Nigerians, even their gullible followers will prefer to stay in Somalia.

No oo, a litre of fuel will be sold to party miscreants at 80naira. All they have to do is flash their party cards at the petrol attendants.

BTW, what El-Rufai (failure) is demanding is for governors to deny their electorates and put up full support for him cos he is a 'fellow governor', the same tactics of pitching the north against the south. An average Nigerian needs to wise up, these political monsters don't care about us, they just want to fuel our discord to keep them in power. Today it is Kaduna, if this flies unchecked, expect 80% of most states to follow the same steps and if Kaduna can sack 45,000 workers, Lagos will be excused to sack 200,000 workers.

Tribalistic voters brain will be formatted after this regime

Very few people can afford 1000 per litre in the long run.

It's not just fuel that will go up everything will follow suit.

Transport
Food
Rent

Everything will go up.

What kind of country is this for God's sake? Why are Nigerians so stupid and foolish? Why are we like this?
With the high rise of insecurity, unemployment, cost of living etc already in this country , this devilish, demonic, wicked and evil leaders are proposing an upward review of fuel price betwn #380- #410. This is height of all wickedness and evil.
And the most annoying part of this is that stupid Nigerians will accept and swallow it. Some will even support this demonic leaders.
How long are we going to take this rubbish from these demonic leaders?
How long are w e going to continue suffering and smiling as a people?
How long are we going to watch this people destroy this country and steal all our resources?
How long Nigerians? How long?
What are we going to tell our children or children's children?
Are we so weak and stupid? This is absolutely painful to watch.
Are we all zombies? Are we this helpless? Are we this divided that we can't all stand as one people and fight and take this country back. Why can't we hold these leaders accountable to the people? God why? why am l even a Nigerian? ??

I believe El'rufai's points are valid. But I also believe 45 000 workers who suddenly find themselves unemployed will destabilise the state. El'rufai is a good student of history. He needs a lot of money to build a legacy for himself in Kaduna. History will only see his works and remember him; nobody will remember the sacrifices we all made for it. Just as nobody remembers the slaves who built the Giza pyramids. El'rufai wants to turn Kaduna into an exclusive city for the rich. I was wondering what stuff dictators are made of; El'rufai gave the answer.
Government is all about continuity. He should do his best and leave the rest for those coming behind him. Kaduna state have vast mineral resources, what stops "Mr smarter" than everybody from mining it.

The problem is, many Nigerians think we can earn enough money just from revenues from our raw materials...when in reality, we need far more than that.

Please name one developed country that does not have a well funded welfare system.

All developed countries have higer Gdp's than Nigeria, and have much higher tax to gdp ratios than Nigeria...which is why they can afford well funded welfare systems.

Take France. France has a higher GDP and a tax to gdp ratio around 40%. Nigeria on the other hand has a tax to gdp ratio of 6%.

Well, the simple reason why is
1.NNPC is running at a loss to keep fuel subsidsed

2.Nigeria is not earning enough from oil to keep fuel subsidsed

3.We are losing millions from oil being smuggled to neighbouring countries where fuel costs above N300 (and to be frank, among all west African countries, Nigeria is the only one that sells fuel at LESS THAN 200 naira.

4.We are having to take more and more loans to fund budget deficits arising from the amounts we spend subsidsing fuel.

5.Our tax to gdp ratio is too low to fund welfare projects, including subsides.

Yes, GEJ was able to subsidse fuel...because crude prices were above $90 from 2010-14. Since 2014, crude has been on a freefall. And we have had to keep taking loans as a result...(and GEJ subsidsing fuel meant he had to drain our reserves to do so...and even then many of the same problems were there)

Well, having relatives who have worked for government...no one in government gets fuel for free.

Also, we lose over N1 trillion naira to subsides, and we lose more due to smuggling of subsidsed fuel...which the government tried to stop by closing the borders, until the issues with trade meant the borders had to be opened again.

We have been losoing money to subsides for decades, plus it has led to the ruination of our refienreis, and oil industry. At some point, it has to stop.

Mad people in government. A country of over 200m people no functional refinery.
They should stop running around the circle. The solution is build more refineries. The crude will be refined locally. Nobody will talk about subsidy again. But corruption and greed will not allow you do the right thing that will benefit the masses. you are proposing a liter of fuel for #380? Is that not wickedness. Did you think of the multiplier on the economy?
Did you consider the inflation on goods and services?

Well, the sad thing is, no matter who is in power, subsidy is something that should have gone since the 1990's.

Instead, we kept it for too too long.

WE are losing trillions, getting into debt, and we have bad refienreis all due to subsidy. Yes, prices will go up, but the waste and stealing will stop once it is removed.

Your hero GEJ wanted to remove it in 2012, and people like you were protesting then.

Yea we can build more refienreis, but selling fuel below N200 is not going to generate the profits needed to build the refinereis, or crucially keep the refienreis running and well maintained.

Plus, in addition to Dangote, four other refinereis are under construction by private companies.
