I believe that waking up in the morning to announce a policy you glossed over in the night is a No No!
Nigerians need explanation of the what's, the whys and the ifs. It's damn too risky to trust any civil servant with such too personal of an information. Carelessness, negligence, tribalism, religious bigotry, incompetency, hatred and wickedness makes it too risky for compliance, moreover, given the personality of the minister in charge of that ministry.

I rise
we need to educate people on social media the dangers attached to doing this. We need to protest against this

Total bulshit! You don't have to use a mobile phone it is not by force to use a mobile device either. So if you you don't want to give them your mobile IMEI don't use a mobile phone simple!! Next you will be the first to yap rubbish about insecurities in the country.

Even your so called sky God would have registered his mobile phone to stop insecurities in his sky country. grin

Even if panty leaves now it’s likely he will keep a duplicate of all the sensitive data collected on Nigerians imagine what such a database is worth in the black market
Imagine that information even being with Pantami, a known Islamic extremist in the first place.

Total rubbish! Nigerian government have no right to do this, it is like nigerian politicians believes that all nigerian citizen are criminals and guilty of a crime until they are proven not guilty. grin

Again, government has no right to your mobile phone IMEI maybe the law enforcement but not government. Even so law enforcement still need a warrant to do that.

Useless country.

Why can't these people think of how to create jobs for the teaming unemployed people and solve security challenges facing the country first, before embarking on a mission of wasting people's time without result.
Finally theses people are confused and uneducated.
