The New Man - A life created in Righteousness and True Holiness

When we put on the new man and embrace it, the new nature of God manifests in all facets of our lives. Our dealings with God and man receives a divine transformation that brings us daily into the light of God's presence and reforms our spirit to desire the things of God. How can we put on Christ?

The bible gives us a clear explanation - "For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ" - Gal. 3:27.

True baptism after genuine repentance is an important step in our transformation into the body of Christ - it represents a rebirth; being born of water and the spirit. In preparation for baptism, you open your heart to the wooing of the Holy Spirit to be reformed and when you're baptized in water, it symbolizes total surrender and a new birth.

Why are you wavering between light and darkness?

God's people under King Ahab, had become subject to an imported religion. Many out of fear sought to please the state by adopting the worship of Baal. We are under the same situation today - so much falsehood has been imported into the church and they are leading people into darkness.

Elijah's question, "How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him." - 1 Kings 18:21; is a call to action! Enough of bending in fear and aiding the spread of darkness through compromise of faith. Rise up and say no to the falsehood, and raise the banner of truth! The truth of God's word!

As God's own people today, we have a duty to be a light to the world that is covered with darkness - ignorance and unrighteousness. The glory of God that has risen upon us by our salvation through Jesus Christ must be reflected as a light to dispel the gross darkness that has befallen the people of the earth.

What is the Motive behind your decision to follow Christ?

Many Christians have been deceived by their pursuit of selfish gains. Their profession of faith or discipleship is borne out of the desire to reap worldly benefits, but this is not what Christ taught. Contrary to popular theology, discipleship is a service - not an earthly reward system.
