What year model of Honda city is it? The car is good but the gear issue spoilt the whole thing. Someone said he bought his own recently for 140k. And after everything you can still sell your condemned gear for 25k to aboki guys.
Sorry I'm just seeing this boss
It's 03/04 city
I wouldn't mind the connect of where the person got his gear boss.

same here o.

Been facing same issue with my honda city 2007. The gear vibrates and shake when you are about to move from zero but normalize after that.

Anyone that has link to genuine gear spare part seller should please drop link

To God be the glory.
What the vast majority said was impossible was achieved with dedication and resilience.
Attempted a DIY repair for my CVT gear, now my boy is back and bouncing.

Will update this post with the repair journey.

Modified

I came to the decision of attempting to fix the gear.
As I have nothing to loose. "If e no work i couple am back sell am as scrap and buy another"

Removed the gear, opened it up and discovered it was the Chain that got cut (pics attached)

Went to ladipo with a sample of the pieces.
Then made an on-site enquiry on the cost of another should incase we're unable to fix this.
Best deal we got was 220k
But they offered to buy ours for 40k

What if we convert it to manual and never have gear related issues again for life (my brother said)
Manual gear was less than 50k
Total estimate to convert to manual was around 90k
E be like that one go make sense. But nah me dey drive am I'm not mentally prepared to drive a manual car for now.

So 2options was on the table
1. Buy a new gear
2. Convert to manual

The 3rd was the attempt on repair which I wasn't sure would work

We then proceeded to look for the Chain. Make we explore all the options wey we get fess before we decide.
Also ladipo boys kept telling us cvt gear is irreparable that we have to buy another one.
We got the Chain eventually 15k. But unfortunately we discovered it was a wrong one when we got home. Returned back the next day and and got refunded then proceeded to oyingbo to look for its exact match

Emekayoung:
I am currently using honda ATF for my 2006 city. My issue now is that when my car is cold it drives normal, but when it becomes hot it vibrates when i am trying to move from the beginning. But when the car starts moving,it no longer vibrate. And that vibration is only when I am trying to move the car from the beginning while the car has warmed up very well. Please what do I do?

I understand that your 2006 Honda City experiences vibrations when starting from a stop when the engine is hot, but not when cold. While I cannot diagnose the exact issue remotely, I can offer some insights and potential solutions based on common causes for this problem:

Possible causes:

Transmission issues:

Dirty or degraded Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF): Even though you're using Honda ATF, age and wear can cause it to break down and lose its lubricating properties. This can lead to increased friction and internal component wear, causing vibrations when starting from a stop when hot due to thinned fluid and higher operating temperatures.
Faulty torque converter: The torque converter plays a crucial role in transmitting power smoothly. A worn-out or malfunctioning torque converter can cause vibrations, especially when the engine is hot and under load from starting.
Internal transmission wear: Worn gears, bearings, or other internal components can cause vibrations within the transmission, manifesting when the engine is hot and the transmission fluid thins out.

In as much as you are changing your fluids..is best you get connected to a Honda specialist. You could get connected to one on Requestmechanic.com. click on request now which is circled in red or fill in your email add on the waitlist.

Good day all, an in that stage where my Honda city 2007 model delays to start moving even after I engaged the drive, but after a minute or more it begins to move perfectly, even though after some distance it begins to blink D. It doesn’t accelerate above 4, can someone help out

Can I have ur phone number please for proper directions, I am experiencing similar issues with my Honda city 2007, I am presently in Jos Plateau state, when the car cools off, it takes a minute or two to start moving but can move properly fine, i also noticed difficulty accelerating/climbing a hilly area. If fixing it (changing the chain as u did) will do, it will save me from the 200k the gearbox dealer is charging me

The advice is to change the gear because no guarantee in repairing it. One guy called (Jibwillz) posted on this topic and said he repaired his own and it was successful, since that time he has been ignoring my messages, just to send the number of the person that fixed his own became a problem, black people are not behaving well and we want our country to be like abroad, how is that possible ?

Try and change the gear, the seller will still buy your own for like 40k so you can use it to add up.

I have experienced similar problem with my Honda city 2007 model, for the D blinking I had a scan on my car and it points to the ABS sensor at the leg, that issue was rectified. for the jerking I noticed that after changing my gearbox, I researched a lot and found out that a faulty CONVERTOR can cause that, I am presently considering to convert my automatic gearbox to manual sef, bcoz people don advise me to do that.
