The majority of the people in this forum aren't seeing what I'm seeing and this is deeply worrisome. The issue is that this tyrannical and nepotic govt have no plans to relinquish power nor to conduct a free and fair election. Further more, they have envisaged insurrection and uprising in a grand scale as a result , which will require a brute force in order to quell . And they will go to any length to achieve this their devilish aim. Thus having full control of the internet means they can and will get away with anything and everything heinous and hideous been perpetrated. 3 Likes |

Empiree: You too are ignorant. In the US they a teaching young kids homosexuality and trying to force boys into being trans. Its Pride month in the US and they are teaching young kids about adults having sex with the same gender. They are not arresting people for crimes, they are making sure they push an agenda. Please how oppose these teaching on twitter are banned. The reality is the USA controls most of the tech in the world. I dont believe in shutting down social media, but its the same social media that is pushing homosexuality on young kids and blocking the previous American president. I bet you didn't hear the BLM leaders bought multiple homes for pleasure. That's because twitter is mostly left leaning and pro homo Nigerians have became to independent on twitter, but going to China for help is also a mistake. Twitter and China media is the same in reality. |

Belial06: Enlighten us since you know the difference but failed to explain them in your post. The Nigerian government has in the past few years sought a way to control freedom of expression online Freedom of expression but little by little, they will soon set Nigeria on fire by fake news, photoshoped images, hate speeches and inciting comments. |

Coldshisha: I agree with you 100%. We need these tools to deal with bandits, kidnappers, terrorists including BH and Igbos. This will allow us to see and know what these terrorists are saying, who they are saying it to, intercept their communications, and save Nigerian lives and property. If you are not a criminal and you are not doing anything illegal, you have nothing to worry about. America the land of democracy uses the same method and tools to detect and foil terrorist operations in the planning state way before anything happens to innocent Americans. 1 Like 1 Share |

traihit: Truth is...we already at war, albeit undeclared. With what's happening in SE and the south as whole, something sinister is being put into play by the fulani - a repeat of what they did in Central African Republic. They are trying to carry out an ethnic cleansing without alarming the world about it, hence this sudden interest in censoring the internet. All we can hope for is that pple don't sit down quietly and let it happen, else they would be unstoppable. If you ask me, the simple solution is disintegration. That way pple can handle their security without having to worry about it being compromised. |

TRADELYN: Super development! We can't keep allowing persons with inordinate intensions, in the guise of investors or promoters of free speech, to continue to have field days in our cyberspace. It is a step in the right direction. Africa and Nigeria have irresponsibly remained a market for opportunistic investors, who only care about promoting their businesses and investments, against all odds. Insensible technology use is dangerous for national security. If you were better informed, you wouldn't find any disconnect between what the FG is proposing and enhancing security in the country. |

Have they also asked China how they are securing the lives and properties of their citizens? Have they also how they created the environment for Chinese citizens to prosper. If they had used one tenth of the energy they are channeling into internet censorship to secure Nigerians, this nation would have been a paradise in Africa. I find comfort in the fact that power is transient and the ultimate power belongs to God. 1 Like |

What is paining me is that it was clear to everybody the kind of president Buhari will be. He has his history and antecedents. The fact that you could not predict it is either as a result of foolishness or just a rabid hatred for igbos. Any of both qualities should ordinarily disqualify you from voting. 1 Like 1 Share |

[quote author=Coldshisha post=102474523] We need censorship and we need it now before another problem adds to what Nigerians are facing If ordinary FM radio can cause Rwanda genocide then Nigeria must be scared of fake news .[/quote I typed a barrage of insults for you but on a second thought I felt you might just be reasoning to the capacity in which your brain can function . Your leaders are so swift in engaging China on issues about internet as if that is an emergency but fail to engage them on how to provide steady electricity that will boost the economy and at the long run reduce insecurity since most youths will be engaged and you are so daft enough to come on a social forum to applaud them. Like seriously??. You and those who liked your post really need brain development therapy if there is such a thing. 1 Like |

The ignorant people shouting tyranny and other nonsense need to read about Eric Snowden and what he disclosed about the American surveillance system. They even listen to and intercept calls from foreign leaders, they filter words, they read your mail and so on. Many Nigerians tall and spew garbage strictly base on ignorance and sometimes just being stupid all because they can not elevate above their tribal and bigoted world views. |
