True, and that's why the idiot that occupies the highest office in the land should not be making genocidal threats online.

cool
They made a threat against the "Unknown Gunmen" (Let's pretend as if we don't know who they are) and some people automatically think the threat is against them.

That's a way of knowing the people who were in silent support of the recent killings of policemen, burning of police stations, ptoperties, INEC offices, assasination of Gulak, top INEC official and that judge.

They identified with the threat even when it was not directed at them.

Lol, this coming from one of the most notorious bigots on this forum

How ironic.
To you, anyone standing to protect Nigeria from those sponsored by corrupt politicians to destroy Nigeria is supporting President Muhammadu Buhari and anyone who opposes the IPOB terrorists misrepresenting patriotic Nigerians of Igbo extraction is a bigot.
You will all learn las las after Buhari leaves office but bigotry and hatred you have allowed to have a foothold in your heart continues to destroy everything you do. Most of you are all living a life of hatred and bigotry against PMB because of his tribe, religion and that he stands against corruption most of you feed from and the main reason he defeated your candidate in 2015 & 2019. I have never said Buhari is perfect but I cringe when I see your hatred and bigotry dripping over your comments.

One Aboki was asking how is Twitter a right

Well Freedom of Expression, Association of Legal Bodies, Expression of Opinions is a fundamental human right in every Democracy

Twitter is the largest platform where People can air their opinions easily, a legal body everyone has right to associate with

Essentially Twitter is the right to every Nigerian who wants it

Good one, now Nigeria is a battle field between Trump and the democrats, Give the muthafucking zoo of a country led and governed by cows ond donkeys economic sanction without warning. Madmen only behave when whipped, if not you would just be wasting time trying to call them to order

Firstly, read carefully to comprehend and if you find it confusing, ask politely so I can explain to you sir. Trump went all out and banned Tiktok, court reversal didn't change that he banned Tiktok and whoever is behind that Twitter handle, even if it is IPOB terrorists using Twitter as haven, did not tell Trump to reverse it. And to Buhari, who you hate with passion and bigotry, didn't ban Twitter. He suspended it and now demands they get registered and licensed to operate in Nigeria.
If it's still not clear, please ask politely, if you are rude, I will either ignore you ,report you or do both. Good morning sir. All the enemies of Nigeria will lose las las. They always lose.visit www.freestuffsng.com to find free stuff. God bless Nigeria

You are simply ignorant. Go and get informed. Trump banned Tiktok just like Buhari did twitter. But unlike Nigeria, the ban never took effect because a US court blocked it. Read carefully. TIKTOK NEVER STOPPED OPERATION FOR A MINUTE IN THE US Mind you, Trump even banned Tiktok for economic and national security reason and not for ego tripping and narcissism like Buhari but, the institutions of state which are crucial for the proper running of a democracy stepped in to curtail him.

On 6 August 2020, U.S. President Donald Trump signed executive order 13942[121][122] which would ban TikTok transactions in 45 days if it is not sold by ByteDance. Trump also signed a similar order against the WeChat application owned by the Chinese multinational company Tencent.[123][23]

On 14 August 2020, Trump issued order DCPD-202000608[124][125] giving ByteDance 90 days to sell or spin off its U.S. TikTok business.[126] In the order, Trump said that there is "credible evidence" that leads him to believe that ByteDance "might take action that threatens to impair the national security of the United States."[127]

TikTok considered selling the American portion of its business, and held talks with companies including Microsoft, Walmart, and Oracle.[128]

On September 18, TikTok filed a lawsuit, TikTok v. Trump. On 23 September 2020, TikTok filed a request for a preliminary injunction to prevent the app from being banned by the Trump administration.[129] U.S. judge Carl J. Nichols temporarily blocked the Trump administration order that would effectively ban TikTok from being downloaded in U.S. app stores starting midnight on 27 September 2020. Nichols allowed the app to remain available in the U.S. app stores, but declined to block the additional Commerce Department restrictions that could have a larger impact on TikTok's operations in the U.S. These restrictions were set to take place 12 November 2020.[130]

Three TikTok influencers filed a lawsuit, Marland v. Trump.[131] On October 30, Pennsylvania judge Wendy Beetlestone ruled against the Commerce Department, blocking them from restricting TikTok.[131] On November 12, the Commerce Department stated that it would obey the Pennsylvania ruling and that it would not try to enforce the restrictions against TikTok that had been scheduled for November 12.[131]

The Commerce Department appealed the original ruling in TikTok v. Trump. On December 7, Washington D.C. district court judge Carl J. Nichols issued a preliminary injunction against the Commerce Department, preventing them from imposing restrictions on TikTok.

Lousy headline. US cannot impose sanction for banning a private company. Twitter is not the only social media and Nigeria is not the first country to ban twitter.

I think banning twitter is the wrong approach but US cannot threaten anyone. Facebook once had an issue with the Australian government and google still has cases in European court houses.
Twitter is an embodiment of freedom of speech it's not just a company

Your country that is a democracy and taking grants from USA should comply with USA policy on freedom of speech

When You're not an automated call response.

I'm sure you weigh your words more carefully in reality than online.

That's the responsibility with free speech you've applied. People just need to apply the same responsibility online.

There's still Instagram, Nairaland and other apps to express free speech. It doesn't start and end on Twitter.

In real life, in my presence, you would want to say that to my face because you realize there are consequences for this "Free speech".

But you can say it online behind your keyboard because you feel protected.

That same responsibility you applied in reality is what people should transfer online.

Being online gives people the freedom to throw inhibition to the wind and be careless with talk.

We've done it to the point of almost destroying our country.
