SavagesWillLose: The more some people want to discredit the Nigerian government ban on Twitter, the more they make a mockery of themselves. First of all, the original tweet was from USAID. For the obvious dunces that don’t know what that is, it is the United States Agency for International Development. It is just an agency of the American government, just like any other equivalent in other countries, with remit for administering international aid. The US Mission in Nigeria simply retweeted and some incurable dumbos are gladly posting it here and happily retorting that the Nigerian government has been given an ultimatum. Shows that Twitter can help give a feeling of being more important than one truly is but it can never give a senseless person sense. 2 Likes |

Nodogragra4me:The US and the west have never had our interest at heart. They ruined G.E.J's chances of purchasing weapons to fight Boko haram by blocking all avenues of purchasing weapons, causing the crisis to blow up. They don't purchase our oil anymore, it's mainly India that buys our oil now. Buhari had to switch to China, Russia and Pakistan and they've been delivering in record time. They're only fighting for their American company to ensure they keep remitting taxes made from the largest black economy, even if it means allowing practices that can burn down the country. We need to start looking within and stop with this slave mentality of dancing to their every tune. No Super Tucano?? Return our money and we'll buy more JF-17 jets from Pakistan and drones from China. They're just as effective and cheaper. 2 Likes |

Complete rubbish, you can't tell a country how to run their affairs. No one can tell the US how to run their affairs, same should apply to Nigeria. The US mission should shut the FVCK up. They were silent when Trump tried to ban Tik tok, all of a sudden now they found their voices. Rubbish. Buhari, tell them to go to hell. These western countries actually respect countries that doesn't give a FVCK about whatever they say than those that are submissive. |

EgunMogaji2:That's what many of these people complaining take as "Free Speech". It's really sickening how media houses release inciting fakenews on Twitter, spread the message, get tens of thousands of likes............ then retract or apologize with a few lines, get 10s of likes after the damage has been done........ then rinse and repeat the act over and over again. We hide our irresponisibilities and criminal acts under "Democracy" , " Rule of law" and "Freedom of speech" too much in this country. 1 Like |

Personally, I feel pained by this hypocrisy by the western government on this issue. Before going further, Let me plead with both Twitter and the Nigerian Govt to sheath their sword and dialogue. The Action of the Nigerian Govt through minuscule could gather momentum in other countries and when the traction is maximized then it will come full-blown. CNN did it and came to a dialogue and life continues Twitter's argument that freedom to the internet is a basic right does not hold water as the Nigerian Govt can claim that Censorship is going against the UN charter on freedom of Speech. Why I feel pained by the hypocrisy is simply that it is well-known fact that UK banned Broadcasting of the Irish Sinn Féin for almost 20 years and all western govt supported it. But when it comes to Nigeria banning Twitter because of percieved imbalance ,we are against such?? |
