you are looking at it in a very shallow way. Didn't you read where she supplied razors, cell phone and even possessed drugs for the inmate? The razor can easily be used against officers or fellow inmates, he can organize a jail break in collaboration with her or use the cell phone to coordinate criminal activities with his gang members outside the prison. This is clearly a situation that endangers not only the other prisoners and officers but the general public. There is everything wrong with it and the authorities are right to relieve her of her job and punish her accordingly

Hmmm.. Don't tell me you read the article and you still raised this kind of foolish suggestion. I wonder what you would have said if you were left to reason alone with no guide. Okay please go back to the part where it says " she signed an oath not to engage prisoners sexually in the course of her duties " she took the oath unaided, not under duress, not drunk, meaning she agreed to something and later reneged on her oath. That alone is criminal.

Secondly, read the part where her relationship with the prisoner could possibly put the security of her colleagues in jeopardy. Blades and cell phones exchanged. These are against prison rules. Except you want to opine that she also has the free will to change prison rules because of the "sense of freedom' you have in this generation.

If you know the law, why break it?
Also it is a precedent. These people are kept away from society for a reason.
They are to have minimal contact with others.
A guard having a relationship with an inmate can easily compromise the safety of the prison and even other guard and inmates.
Remember prison break. Remember what Sarah did because of her love for Michael
