DeRichard:

Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

What this passage is saying is that in life there are two ways where we'll spend eternity:
1. The broad way which leads to destruction in hell fire.

2. The narrow way which leads to the kingdom of God.
Not that the kingdom of God has two gates/ways.
interesting claim you make about life .. eternal life or the "Dead" life you have before Salvation through Jesus Christ - John 3 vs 16 -21. undecided

So, according to Jesus Christ, those who are headed for Hell, do so for eternity - Matthew 25 vs 40 - 46 - damnation I.e. eternal life which they will spend there in damnation. Do you recall that it is only by believing in Jesus Christ that one can gain eternal life - john 3 vs 16-21 - this through Salvation from the condemnation of sin which is Death? undecided

What this then means is that those who will be in Hell believe in Jesus Christ and are at least saved according to John 3 vs 16-21?

It's all summarized in this:
Those who are born again and obey the commandments of God will spend eternity in heaven while those who are sinners will spend eternity in hell fire.

Sinners are those who donot accept Christ as Lord and saviour hence, they are not born again.

You need to go back and read John 3 vs 1 - 21 for yourself so you realize that it has nothing to do with being a sinner or not. undecided

Salvation that you recieve from Jesus Christ is not from sin but instead from Death and it is available to anyone who simply believes. That said, to be born-again means to . enter the Kingdom of God through either of the 2 doors - the broad or the narrow gate. The only guarantee of Heaven belongs to those who enter through the narrow gate, where as those who enter through the broad gate condemn themselves to eternity in Hell from their entry point. undecided

Essentially, Heaven and Hell are domains within the Kingdom of God and those who will enter into each are those who are saved and also born-again - they all have eternal life through believing in Jesus Christ. Those who continue to obey Jesus Christ's commandments are those who are meant for Heaven and those who disobey are set for Hell.
