Arrest which behaviour?

You guys should stop the nonsense.

Government is not responsible for parental insouciance.

Tell me what exactly you want government to do that wouldn't translate into you terming it "Sharia".

Ordinary NIN, we turn it into politics.

Judges are investigated for criminal conduct and the citizens protest.

You claim the judiciary is corrupt but you don't want the same judiciary to be shook.

Nigerians should carry their load.

Ultimately, the fruits would mature.

you hit the nail right on the head - the average nigerian is corrupt and lacks integrity but will blame government for everything even when he also steals from his workplace just like the government official he is is blaming .

Rusticate cultists and prostitutes!
Make a strong law about the permitted rules in campuses.
As we speak today, it's in only Nigerian universities that you will see politicians, contractors and business men drive their SUVs straight to a school hostel to pick up gals. This can be stopped. Arrest pimps that work in campuses and set standards as to how students live. For instance mixed hostels and off camps help breed these immoralities, Do something about that. Government can do something.
Keep defending your principals in government as usual. I think my points are verylear to the clear minded..

You mean an adult cannot have dalliance with whomsoever he/she wants?

And you don't think this is sharia?

Those you are praising are responsible for all this rubbish happening to the southerners. They took over Nigeria and left us empty. The northerners are being favoured when it comes to federal jobs, appointment and high position. In military and paramilitary, they dominate. I nearly cried when I heard two custom officers discussing about the way custom slot were being shared among northerners. Nevertheless, it is bad for one to destroy his image and that of the country he or she came from.
what exactly was making you nearly cry about custom slot ? The intention is already faulty if not it's just supposed.to be a job .

The funny thing is that it's mostly Yoruba or Igbo ppl soiling Nigeria's name abroad, you'll hardly see any news where a northerner was arrested for smuggling drugs, prostitution or fraud. Abi I lie?
That's not true. The ones that were arrested for smuggling drugs to Saudi Arabia during hajj pilgrimage were northerners

Ok, how many more examples do you have apart from the Saudi one? Not many abi? That's why I said MOST are Southerners

I beg to differ. If this was the case then Indians and Pakistanis would be barred from entering the UAE - the current issue right now is that we have a government without rudder! Nigerians are not the top 3 in the table of nationalities that commit crimes; Russians, Indians and Pakistanis rank higher - the difference is that these countries have the interest of their people at heart in whatever negotiations that take place at the government-level.
The Nigerian government does not give a damn!
This nonsense of blaming Nigerians for the failure of Nigerian diplomacy is laughable - if what the OP is saying is true, there would be a lot of citizens from other countries that would be banned or bilateral relations that will be strained even before it reaches Nigeria's turn.
Enough of people putting the blame on the citizens abeg - foreign countries use what is happening in Nigeria to treat Nigerians, you think the UAE can mess with Russian, Indian, Pakistani or Filipino citizens the way they mess with ours? not to talk of the US or UK.
Mr. OP no nation is filled with angels, what other nations respect is your regional/global gravitas, what you bring to the table. British tourists misbehave all the time in the UAE, have you seen them undergo strict restrictions?
Stop all the nonsense of putting the blame on Nigerians, if Nigeria worked for everyone, Nigerians won't be in UAE except for holidays or expansion of business opportunities.
This idea that Nigerians poor reputation is because of its citizens, is an abnormality that is only found in Nigeria. I wonder what you will say if you know what the Chinese do as tourists and as business people in the countries where they are, yet everyone keeps clear of incurring the wrath of China.

You would think Nigerians are the worst - the Indians, Pakistanis, Russians and the Chinese are the top dogs...the difference is that their governments actually have some idea on how to relate with the UAE diplomatically, Nigeria's diplomatic policies are anywhere belle face, and its even now worse under Buhari cc: the suspension of flights to the UAE.

tonididdy:

. . And in that' same Dubai.
You are a saint?

Please take this write up nonsense down, you don't read about Ghanaian or Congolese exploits online. You mean you don't have anything good to say about Nigerians in Dubai?

I'm certain I started visiting Dubai before you even had a passport. Don't shame Nigerians in Dubai in order to uplift yourself. Don't do this?

Like it or not, you are an alien in Dubai. One slip up and you'd be Deported, so don't make it seem like you are Holier than others, the UAE govt will grant you permanent citizenship.

This is wrong and the mods brought this to front page. Are we the only criminals in the world? Why do we have to contribute to our woes ourselves.

Be positive!

It's a university environment! It's not shariah..
There are led down rules and these banned already for undergraduates. We're talking of enforcement here..

Undergraduates are legal adults. You cannot restrict the movement of students in and out of campus. You cannot restricts adults from receiving guests in their hostels within campus or living quarters outside campus. There is freedom of movement, association and religion in the Nigerian constitution. Unless you want to convert Nigeria into a theocratic dictatorship, you cannot ban the movement or regulate the moral behaviour of citizens.

In every students hostel anywhere in the world, there are rules..
This is blatantly obvious. You guys are just arguing for the sake of it..

False. MOST PEOPLE do not indulge in crime because of hunger, but because of GREED. Are you telling me Hushpuppi engaged in crime because of hunger? Could he eat his expensive watches, cars and designer clothes he displays on instagram? Are you insinuating our politicians engage in stealing because of crime? Tinubu must be starving then.
They say an idle mind is the the devil workshop,
If you into something or working, you hardly think evil, but when you jobless hungry and idle their is high tendency for you going into crimes, but when you are employed busy and satisfy, low chance for you to indulge into anything crime, when one go into crime and get easy money,it lead into lavishly life easy come easy goes and hardly the invest the money and result into more and more crime, like the case of hush puppy

No one is saying that every students hostel anywhere in the world has no rules. What I am saying is that such rules do not infringe the free movement of adults citizens just because they chose to be students,( by prohibiting them from leaving their hostels or campus grounds or prohibiting them from receiving visitors on campus grounds.), except in theocratic dictatorship regimes.

Now tell me is it joblessness and hunger that made most Nigerian politicians and civil servants corrupt?
Is it joblessness and hunger that made most nigerian workers and businessmen to cheat others?

Nigerians are naturally greedy and dishonest due to the get rich quickly culture being promoted by all facets of the society including our churches (and mosques), out traditional institutions and civil society as a whole.

Most companies are now getting the memo and are now hiring Indians, Chinese and Pakistanis to run their companies instead of Nigerians. If you like give a Nigerian N1 million a month as salary, he will still steal you blind and run your company down.

Corruption has little to do with poverty. In fact the poorest people in Nigeria are the most honest. I have heard many very poor people who found lost money and return it to their rightful owners.

I am so sick of this excuse. Is Nigeria the only country in the world that is gripping with poverty? What about Somalia, Burundi, Congo DR, Haiti or even Pakistan? Majority of people in these countries are poor but they don't destroy their countries image like Nigerians do. The problem with us Nigerians is greed. The average Nigerian is greedy. From the President to the common man in the street, the average Nigerian will do anything to make money. We lack contentment. I am not a saint but the fact of the matter is that there is a huge moral decay in this country that didn't start today. The generation that fought the Civil War started the steady decline of morals in Nigeria.
Pentagon007:
The problem lies with Nigeria as a country. No matter how hard you may try to disagree, one thing is obvious. A people coming from Deep abject poverty will care very little about Moral and laws when they see any slight opportunity they may exploit to better their situation. People will do this with absolute disregard for what ever you may think is right and moral. Poverty caused by Failed country system, is at the ROOT cause of the problem.
