He submitted trasnfer request because the president then wasn't going in the right steps required by the club standard, a new and preferred president won and he decided to stay even taking a huge pay cut of 50% off his salary. Madrid's highest paid is Hazard, less than 450k per week (minus bonuses) while Bartomeu paying 1.36m per week to Messi and 881k to Griezmann.
The club needs wage restructuring.
