From The Information Gathered By , The Malawi-based Nigerian Catholic priest, Fr. Kelvin Ugwu has advised people to emancipate themselves from superstitious beliefs and certain falsehoods including ones surrounding paying of tithes.

According to the priest, wearing of trousers by women is not a sin and neither is paying tithe a ticket to heaven.

Sin is the direct opposite of Holiness! Walking completely outside the path of righteousness.

1. God never specifically said women shouldn't wear trousers (Scripture simply states all should dress modestly).

2. There is absolutely no where God instructed non-Jews to hand over a tenth of their incomes to shepherds in the ministry! Not a single place in the Bible!

3. Celibacy in Catholic priesthood is a man-made doctrine designed for commitment (Nothing Biblical whatsoever about it). You need not be a priest to teach and live holy.

I'd love to look at the second paragraph from a different viewpoint. You see, there are certain things that God has personally forbidden us from doing. Those are sins. Eg, murder, stealing, adultery, fornication, etc.

While the Bible didn't itemize some things as sins, I strongly believe that God speaks to us through our consciences. Those acts that make our conscience to prick us and come short of the glory of God are sins. God forbids sins because they have a negative impact.

It's difficult to understand certain scriptures without picturing the people being addressed. When the law that women should not wear men's cloth came to the Isrealites, they were not even wearing trousers at all. There was no trousers to begin with.


As a matter of fact, the scripture didn't mention trousers so why then should a lady not wear women's trousers?

The real purpose of the law is to maintain gender distinction and women's trousers doesn't tamper with that. You personally cannot wear a woman's trousers, you will appear like a headmaster who hasn't seen his salary in years.

We are not bound by some of these laws, as a matter of fact, Christianity is not about don't do this and don't do that.

Exactly, exactly! This thing of Africans being overly religious is what's holding us back. Dress codes were made by people, not God! it could have been the other way around,we as men could have been the ones wearing skirts and females trousers and would have been considered normal.
