Each ministries in Nigeria are striving and struggling so hard to bring innovative, interesting and foolish policy in order to push their agenda towards Looting. It was international interest that first killed it before completion that time. Russia versus USA. Local interest now trampled on the remaining remnants. Remember late Awolowo never wanted the factory to be located at Ajaokuta where the steel is. He was quoted to have said, " what is found in the farm is usually brought home( town) as food. That's the company should be built in Lagos while rail line is developed to join Ajaokuta and Itakpe to Lagos for transportation of the raw iron ore and steel but late Abdulrahaman Okene vehemently rejected that Awolowo's disposition. The steel company which is the bedrock of industrialization cannot see the light of the day because the same way the Yorubas doesn't want any other port elsewhere except through Lagos, the same way they want the north see industrialization.
The north too when in power look lakadasical at Ajaokuta as a southern project because it is at the boarder if Nigeria possibly divides.

You can see why Nigeria is a failed country. It is a fact not a cause, any government that doesn't take Ajaokuta serious in her agenda is already a failed government for sure.

You cannot industrialized without steel and cannot provide employment for the teaming youths without industrialization.

Harneyprojects wrote an article last year titled the " Ajaokuta steel company debacle". There is currently a glut of steel in the market due to excess production from china. The Nigerian government needs to do away with the Ajaokuta steel company due to foundational errors made while setting it up.
