DCatt: I'm not talking of Ogun ( deity ) but a Bini Prince named Ogun. I just told you how Ile Ibinu became Edo. Also, Ajayi Crowther in His book recorded the Egbas speaks a different language from His native Osogun language and He couldn't understand them. Prince Ogun/Square 1 predates Esigie, I'm talking of 14th/15th century not some 19th century slave trade. |

Chiefecho:Abeg shut up, you deluded chest-beating terrorists. The only thing that is clear is that the Igbos are economic refugees, loud mouth rabble-rousers that can't develop their unproductive barren land but can develop the universe. We are rooting for you to get your Biafra so you are all bundled back to your dot nation, all your braggadocio will end and your eyes will clear. Bloody leeches. 7 Likes |

Asour: Nearly all major infrastructures were constructed by FGN - international airport, Apapa sea port, the only railway that currently runs to Lagos, the 3rd mainland bridge, the carter bridge, Stadium in Surulere, some of the high rise buildings especially in Ikoyi, many government parastatal like DPR, NAPIMS, etc, that is still Headquartered in Lagos, foreign embassies, etc, you can name it. U see why being a former capital of a republic for 30 years can't just be washed away overnight because it somehow favours u. I'm sorry that this advantage also comes with the burden of large population, bc it is simply a matter of economics. People troop to old and new capitals of many countries, it is like that between Abidjan and Yamousoukro, Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia, Bonn and Berlin, Kyoto and Tokyo, Dar es Salam and Dodoma, etc. Now coming here to tell other Nigerians to go back to their state as if Lagos was built by strength of Lagos state govt alone, is purely u choosing to be naive. |

EagleNest: Even when the likes of Gowon and IBB who were once head of states based in Lagos during the military era period when the federal capital was in Lagos have long since retired back to their home states, there are still many Igbos are still living in the past, stuck in the delusionment that Lagos is some kind of "second federal capital". But beyond all that, it is intriguing the way Igbos get jittery anytime reference is made to Lagos as a Yoruba state, so much so that they have resorted to inventing all manner of false narratives just to discredit Lagos a being a part of the larger Yoruba heritage. Of all the tribes in Nigeria why is it only Igbos that are think and react this way ? Is it that Igbos do not have the capacity to build their own Lagos? Is it that Igbo cannot survive without Lagos? Are Igbos that culturally insensitive or just plain ignorant not to know that Lagos has its own traditions institutions and a history that goes back several centuries - long before the colonial masters arrived on the continent or even toyed with the idea of Nigeria. Lagos is undisputably a Yoruba State the same way Kano is proudly an Arewa state, both cities have stood proudly for centuries, long before advent Nigeria. Yorubas as a people do not owe anybody any apologies for Lagos, they as a people have shared their common wealth with the rest of the nation, and like every thing in life, they have had some wins and some losses. My advice to those Igbos that cant seem to move forward, is to learn to respect, and live in peace with their hosts where ever they find themselves outside their home states. Inflammatory comments cannnot be good in the long run. 3 Likes |

SmokedWhiskey: You are just going round and round. You didn't choose Lagos to be what it finally become, I'm not even sure if you were born then. It was concerted efforts by all Nigerians. No one is dragging with you if Lagos is Yoruba's. But it is worrisome when you starts acting as if its economic status, administrative and government history should be erased because Igbos are reminding u, that it wasn't built by ur effort alone. How dare Igbos tell u that to ur face is the anger. Don't worry we are not taking Lagos from u. Don't be too serious about it. . Has anyone spoken about any other state, no. Is Lagos the only state in Yoruba soil, no. Then why Lagos? Because it was once the capital of Nigeria for 3 decades. I'm sorry to see that u don't like it painted this way, but history can't be wished away just because we have a preconceived thoughts about a particular people. It is just like the native Americans telling all non-natives to disappear because USA has always belonged to them. Take it easy my friend, let's live and let others live as well. None of us chose where to come when we were born, neither will any of us take anything, when it's time to go. Think of how to help your next neighbor. |

Clown, No worry na, when you get your Biafra you will explain and sensitize us that not all Igbos are Biafrans. The same way you migrated in droves to Yorubaland is the same way you will all go back to your unproductive terrorist hamlets. 2 Likes 1 Share |

RolexOfGeneva: Oga the entire alaba market can be replaced by an 'APP'. When the ibos are gone our roads will be free then deliveries from factories to direct end users or same day export will be done. All this middle men job will evaporate and the currency won't have much inflationary pressure. 1 Like |

EagleNest: The reason y Lagos became prosperous is God given I explain Lagos has naturally navigable lagoons that connect to the ocean therefore ships can operate in the high sea and in those lagoons. In Niger delta the don’t have navigable lagoons that is why a lot of dredging has to be done. So historically ships found it easier to berth close to land in Lagos than in niger delta where they can only berth in sea. If u go to marina u will see ships berth in Wharf So this made Portuguese sailors use the Lagos route and they named it lagos which means Lagoon in Portuguese. I know about history of Lagos my great great great great grandfather were lagosians. Lagosians are open people we accept people from every where 1 Like |

CUMIN:Physical markets boost revenue and overall economy better than online markets because it gives more people a means of survival and government in turn can make more money from taxes. Nigerians are not completely ready to accept online markets at least for now, that's why it's finding it difficult to completely replace physical markets -we discovered that during the Covid 19 lockdown. |

RolexOfGeneva: This country population is made up of 60% of people below 30. If you are a trader at alaba...I'm very sure you must have waybill items to customers several times before. That's pointing something to you that that is the future. If I want to fix a part I orders it. I bought my phone direct from AliExpress 20% cheaper than physical market. If I need an I phone I can order from Amazon. We don't want people who will segregate our people by name calling our Muslim as Yoruba Muslim. When your Biafra comes we will re-write our law and a new land use act will come into force and we will reposses the land you have been sold for in the defunct Nigeria. And no international court would be able to fight for you. Because it is a sovereign country and within her rights. 1 Like |

CUMIN: It's good someone else is seeing things from these perspective. Igbos think all those their importer this & that is something to be proud of, when reverse is the case. When they get their Biafra, let's see how they'll sustain that nonsense. Everything, they want to import, putting pressure on the fx. If many Igbos were well to do as they claim, they won't be selling their wares outside of their region. But it's because YÒRÚBAs have good purchasing power which is why you see Igbos running to set-up businesses all over the western region. |
