You can get 15 CRS points in FSW from your sibling who is a PR/citizen or your spouse’s sibling who is a PR/citizen.

Page 1 FAQ 37 for details.

Study page one in general.

Hello all, I have a question concerning work experience. I've been working for my brother since 2018 but the business was registered in 2020, will that be an issue?

IMO not an issue but obviously one can never say for sure. IRCC typically do not check when a company was set up (as far as I know), although they probably verify that the company actually exists.

If you really performed the duties of your NOC at that company and can get a letter to that effect from your employer, then proceed and deal with any ADR when and if you get one.

Include these things that may show the company exists: Does the company or owner have an social media accounts even if it's just facebook, instagram, even linkedin etc. where they refer to the company? Or a statement/photo from an official at an event that was published online?

Do you have any photos taken with the company logo, perhaps at a training? Do you have a business card and business cards of the owner or senior officials?

Hi guys,
October will make my wife who is our PA exactly 3years of experience. However, she took a paid maternity leave since August. Will this affect her work experience? As in will it still count as 3years?
Note;employer has no issue signing reference letter as 3 full years of employment.

Leave/vacation including maternity leave is a normal part of work. She was still employed while on mat leave, just like many people are still employed while on annual vacation, which is why employer has no issues with giving her the required ref letter. Rest easy

Hi House,
I would like to know how else one can pay for PNP application online. I have a payment of $350 to make. Is it allowed to pay using online payment platforms such as Geegpay or Flutterwave? My USD card isn't working and I've been to the bank repeatedly to complain. They have tried troubleshooting to no avail! seriously, our naija banks nor dey try at all. I was totally pissed with the way they were all fidgeting. None of them seem to be able to understand what was wrong. I left angrily! I began to believe the story that their good IT hands have all left! undecided

Please how else can one pay?

Good Evening. So I'm married and I'm still using my maiden name on my passport but my NIN is my martial surname. I'm trying to apply for PCC online and when creating an account ,as i entered my NIN, my martial surname pops up meaning that my PCC would be in that surname which is different from my passport. kindly advice. Do i change my NIN back to my maiden name?

I'm not familiar with the new PCC process but you could:

*do what you suggest and change NIN name, although NIN changes seem to have wahala and I'm not sure how easy it will be to change OR
*get a one and same person affidavit https://www.nairaland.com/3999848/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/450#62358403 OR
*ask Inspector Rose or Moshood (search NL for their numbers) if there is any way to reflect the name on your passport (maiden name) on the PCC....before the new online portal process they would have just used the name on the passport.

As an aside, whenever you renew your new passport it will need to bear your married name, otherwise it may fail NIN validation (if NIN is in married name).

@GraciousWords @Dimple10 and to all;

I got an ADR for tax income for my biz. Providing this is not a problem however, my question is, is there any certain threshold that they expect to justify the activities of the biz?

Thanks in anticipation to your response.

No, I don't think so. IMO they are just trying to verify that the business really exists and one way to do so is to see evidence of taxes paid to the government.

Give them the tax receipts, let them give you your PPR.

Congrats in advance!

There's the option of offline PCC. I'd suggest that you explore that rather than face the struggles of name changes. The offline version PCC is still very much in use and acceptable by IRCC, so you have nothing to worry about.

Pls go ahead and use your name like that. Provided you submitted proof of legal name change in your application. My cousin passport carried her maiden name and all other documents carried her marital name, all she did was that she ensured she submitted court Affidavit for legal name change, news paper publication of name change. Today she don get ppr.

Please I need to estimate my chances of getting ITA this year. My score right now is 481 but will reduce to 470 before Jan next year because of birthday. I am worried that this might be a close one. Is there any like possibility of clinching ITA lastest December with a CRS of 481?

Thanks for your response.

Your CRS will drop by 11 points only if you are turning 41.

If that's the case, and your score is at 481 because of TEF or TCF, then hope for the best, but in the meantime, explore PNPs that favour French. Page 1 FAQ 8.

No one knows for certain......but if scores keep dropping by 5 or more points every draw and draw sizes get larger, then it may likely be at 481 before your birthday.

Please review your contact details above and advise us of any errors or updates.

The processing of your application for permanent residence in Canada is almost complete. You must complete the following steps within 30 days in order for our office to issue your Confirmation of Permanent Residence and, if applicable, your permanent residence visa. If for any reason you are not able to meet this deadline, please inform our Centralized Intake Office immediately via the IRCC Web Form: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp with details concerning your situation.

STEP 1: Change in Circumstances:

Should any of the following circumstances apply to you or any accompanying family member, you must inform this office immediately:

Change in marital status, for example due to marriage, divorce, legal separation, annulment or death of spouse;
Change in family composition, for example due to adoption or birth of a child, including a child born to your accompanying dependent child,
Death of principal applicant, spouse, accompanying children, or death of sponsoring relative;
Change in health;
You or any of your accompanying family members being charged or convicted of a criminal offence
Change in contact information: mailing address, e-mail address, or telephone number.

Your failure to inform us of any of these changes may result in the cancellation of your permanent resident visa and may render you and your accompanying family members inadmissible to Canada.

Your failure to declare all of your family members, accompanying or not, will permanently exclude them from sponsorship under the Family Class regulations.

STEP 2: Passport Requirements – Determine if you need to submit your passport(s)

Determine whether you need a visa or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to travel to Canada at: www.cic.gc.ca/ENGLISH/visit/visas.asp

If your passport is from a country whose citizens need a visa to travel to Canada, you will need to submit original passport(s) for you and each accompanying family member. Your passport(s) should be valid for at least 6 months and have at least two blank pages. If a child is included on your passport, you must have one blank page per accompanying child.

Please note that you STILL need to submit your passport(s) even if:

You or your accompanying family members have a valid Canadian temporary residence visa or permit.
You or your accompanying family members are permanent residents of the U.S.A and holder of passport(s) from countries whose citizens need a visa to travel to Canada.

Note: All passports must be intact and not worn, torn or otherwise damaged; the laminate on the bio-data page must be securely attached. Each page must be securely affixed to the passport; there cannot be any loose pages.

If your passport is from a country whose citizens need an eTA to travel to Canada or your passport is from the United States, you will need to submit one photocopy of the photo page and any pages containing amendments of the passport for you and each accompanying family member (Note: any accompanying family member whose passport does require a visa however, will need to submit their original passport as per Step 2a). Your passport(s) should be valid for at least 6 months. Please do not send your original passport(s).

*** Please note that Confirmation of Permanent Residence and permanent resident visas cannot be issued on Diplomatic, Official or Military passports or travel documents. You must provide an ordinary passport. ***

STEP 3: PREPARE YOUR DOCUMENTS

You must submit together:

1. One copy of this letter.

2. Passport(s) OR photocopy(ies) of passport(s), as explained in Step 2.

3. Two (2) photos of yourself and of each accompanying family member. Photos MUST meet the precise specifications found in the link below or in Appendix A at the end of this letter. If you submit photos that do not meet the exact specifications, your package will be returned to you. www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/5445EB-e.pdf

4. If not yet paid, Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) for you and your accompanying spouse (if applicable). We strongly encourage you to pay your fees online and provide a copy of the receipt. To pay your fees online, click here: https://eservices.cic.gc.ca/epay/welcome.do.

5. The height and eye colour (for both eyes) for the Principal Applicant and all of his accompanying dependants

All required documents must be submitted in one single package.

A) To submit your package while overseas:

Please submit your package to the nearest Visa Application Centre along with the VAC Passport Transmission fee.

For Passport Transmission instructions and fee details, please visit:

https://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/

B) If you are currently in Canada, you are not required to submit your passport and will be landed virtually. Please advise our office via webform within 5 days of receipt of this letter if you and/or any of your dependents are in Canada. Please include each person’s name/UCI and where they are currently staying/residing (in Canada or overseas).

NOTE: Permanent Resident document(s) Validity

The issuance of your Permanent Resident document(s) is time sensitive so it is important for you to submit your passport(s) as requested.

Once you receive your Permanent Resident document(s), please verify the information on it is correct. If there are any errors, such as incorrect spelling of name or incorrect date of birth, please inform our Centralized Intake Office via the IRCC Web Form: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp immediately. Your name will appear in the same format as it appears in your passport.

Your Permanent Resident document(s) will expire one year after the date of your medical examinations or earlier if your passport or the passports of your spouse or dependent children (if applicable) expire on an earlier date.

You must travel to Canada and present your immigration documents at a Canadian Port of Entry before they expire. The validity of the Permanent Resident documents cannot be extended. If you fail to enter Canada before this date and still wish to immigrate to Canada, you must reapply by submitting a new application and paying new processing fees. All such applications will be assessed according to the immigration laws in force at the time of receipt of the application. There is no guarantee a future application would be successful.

Important notice:

To protect Canadians from COVID-19, travel restrictions and pre-departure COVID‑19 testing requirements are now in place for individuals travelling to Canada. Please consult How COVID-19 is affecting immigration, refugees, citizenship and passport services for the latest information before making any travel plans and again before departing for Canada.

It is your responsibility to keep yourself informed of any changes to the travel restrictions to Canada by going to Find out if you can travel to Canada

Getting ready for your trip

As you have now received a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) or have been notified to submit your travel documents in preparation for the issuance of a COPR, you are strongly encouraged to use free pre-arrival services funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Several online and in-person services are available to you, your spouse and your dependants. These services can help you find out more about living and working in Canada. They can also help you take steps to get your education, work experience, and professional licences/certificates recognized in Canada, and access other free settlement services once you have arrived in Canada.

To learn more about free pre-arrival services that you can access before you leave, please visit the IRCC website (canada.ca/pre-arrival-services). Please note that in order to access these services, you must show a copy of this letter to the service provider. In-person orientation sessions are very popular and space is limited. We encourage you to register early to secure a spot in an upcoming session.

As you may know, Canada is a bilingual country where both French and English are spoken. If you are interested in living in French, you can get information about Francophone life across Canada by visiting Canada.ca/francoimmigration.

We are looking forward to receiving your package within 30 days to conclude your application for permanent residence in Canada.

Sincerely,

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)

I believe the scores will fall to 480s by December, hopefully before your birthday. But I cant say how low within that range it will be.

Look at this analysis that made sense to me and probably help you analyse things better:
