Hello House, i started my journey with the motivation of this thread:

I took IELTS in February 2024 and i have 8.5 band score.

I will be 30 years old by October.

I have a BSc from University of Lagos (I already paid WES for evaluation and I'm waiting on Unilag to send my transcript).
Post graduate diploma course in Lasu (Currently in the final semester - transcript should be ready by December).
I also concluded the ICSAN program since December and graduation will be by June (Transcript is available).

I have 2 small registered Limited companies i run; I'm also a manager at a firm where i work.

I need help with the following:
1. Should i send my ICSAN transcript to WES in addition to the Bsc since it's a postgraduate program or i should just continue with the Bsc, or just wait for LASU's postgraduate diploma certificate.

2. In the work experience field, do i need to include the companies i founded myself? Also do i need to include companies i interned in the past or i should just limit to my current place of work and maybe one earlier.

3. The provincial jobs, how best do i get one? It's confusing.

I'm single, no relative in canada. CRS score is 473. what are my chances?

Please assist, i don't want to waste my IELTS score. I wish to secure this!

Please study page 1 and all the associated links....very important. Brief responses below:

2. In the work experience field, do i need to include the companies i founded myself? Also do i need to include companies i interned in the past or i should just limit to my current place of work and maybe one earlier read post 3 of page 1 for work experience that counts, internship will not if it wasn't paid. Also read FAQ 14 to 17. You need max 3 years work experience, if you have several NOCs to choose from, go with one on the CBD list as your primary if possible.

After you get ITA include the companies you founded or interned at in Personal History e.g. Director at XYZ

3. The provincial jobs, how best do i get one? It's confusing. read FAQ 8 of page 1 for how PNPs work

I'm single, no relative in canada. CRS score is 473. what are my chances? read post 2 of page 1 for options for increasing your CRS - you do have a chance: you may get a PNP nomination, get ITA from the CBD if your NOC is listed or learn French

Thank you very much sir, I really appreciate your responses.

Is there a link to the STEM draws I can check to see the history and NOCs invited. I've tried to check but couldn't find it.

History of all draws since 2015 in the last link on page 1 post 2

I’m posting on behalf of my brother please anyone that has a similar experience or knows how to go about it should help us out

“I want to apply for the Transport Based Occupations Category specifically code 277, Flying Instructor. I’m a flight instructor with 1 year 1 month of experience. I have a degree and master’s in Mechanical Engineering. I’ve read up on the immigration website and it seems I’m eligible but I’m being told otherwise by someone that is a citizen of Canada. I would like to get an idea on how to go about this application.”

Thank you

See page 1, post 3 addresses this:

Work experience does NOT need to match education/degree for FSW. FSW work experience is not about what you studied as a degree, but what you do/did in your job e.g. an engineering graduate working as a barber must choose the NOC for barbers not engineers. In order to be assigned points under FSW, you must have performed the actions described in the lead statement, a substantial number of the main duties, including all essential duties of your chosen NOC and be paid.

You do NOT need to meet the employment requirements listed on the NOC you choose e.g. your NOC “employment requirements” section may say a PhD is required for your NOC, however to qualify for FSW, you do not need to have a PhD. This may be different for PNPs e.g. SINP.

Hi guys, Pls I need an urgent help.🙏🏾.
I started working in my uncle’s company in early 2020, however I graduated in mid 2021.
Will this affect my application Based on date one is qualified to practice?

The NOC requirements is stated as below.
“Occupations usually require a college diploma or apprenticeship training of two or more years; or supervisory occupationn”

Page 1 FAQ 7, second part

https://ircc.canada.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1127&top=29

If you’re listing any other primary occupation
It’s the date when you finished the minimum level of education needed for the occupation according to the National Occupational Classification (NOC) code. If the NOC only states high school, it’s the date you graduated from high school.

Good day house, I recently joined the Express Entry pool and will like some advice/guidance to avoid errors and possibly increase my scores.

My scores currently stand at 464points and I shouldn't be losing points via age for another 9/10 months.

1.) My appointment letter doesn't include job roles, just indicating that I have been appointed to a certain role. Should this be a concern? Big concern, read post 3, post 5 and FAQ 48. The ref letter that IRCC expects to see should have your job duties or description in addtion other things listed on post 5

2.) I currently entered the pool as sales Engineer for NOC 62100 – Technical sales specialists - wholesale trade. Does it qualify as a stem related NOC. I'm asking against stem draws. I believe I can also switch to 21301 – Mechanical engineers. Please advice. See page 1 post 4 for CBD NOC list

3.) If I receive an invitation to apply, would I need to submit Job reference for all my listed employments/NOCs or just my primary NOC? I would like to know so I do not give myself unnecessary stress with documentation. Page 1, post 3 and post 5. You need max 3 years work experience, which ones you choose is up to you. You must provide refs for the jobs covering these 3 years.

4.) Can POF funds be provided in multiple accounts? E.g naira and dollar or savings and mutual funds. Yes. Page 1 FAQ 21, 22 and post 3 section on POF

5.) Is there a link that indicates the NOCs considered for Stem draws? Kindly share please. Page 1 post 4 for CBD NOC list

6.) I added 16months work experience from my father's company where I'm also listed as a shareholder 15% of total shares. Hope this isn't an issue. No issue, declare both, see FAQ 13 second part and FAQ 41. On your profile now, update the 16 months WE. After you get ITA include the 15% shareholding in Personal History e.g. Director in XYZ

7.) Kindly advise how I can improve my scores or be better qualified for PNPs. I have a sibling in Alberta but they've put their draws on hold and I'm yet to get good evidence that they previously selected Sales Engineer/Mechanical Engineers or any other NOCs I may qualify for in their provincial draws. Page 1 FAQ 8. To improve scores see post 2 of page 1. One option is to learn French.

I really anticipate your guidance guys.

Good day all, I did receive an email from IRCC and they have requested I furnish additional supporting documents as proof of meeting employment requirements for the position I stated. I did submit my offer letter, bank statement, a letter from HR during the initial application.

Can anyone advise me on how to go about this, or what documents do should I provide again.

Thank you

You didn't submit a reference letter? You can also provide payslips.

I submitted a reference letter and provided payslips. I do have a BSc in Geology and work in the bank. I do not know if the VO officer is wondering what I may be doing at the bank. I do not have any financial certifications. I only learned on the job

Can my reference letter indicate how I grew to my current position by participating in in-house trainings?

Hmmm, and you said bank statements highlighting salary paid?. You can do that in addition to all IRCC requirements. Add photos of you at work if need be, promotion letters if any. Anything to convince the VO.

*What exactly did they ask for in your ADR? Maybe share a screenshot with your personal info removed.

*Does your ref letter contain all that IRCC requests?

*Does your Job description in your ref letter match your NOC? Is it an NOC starting with 0 meaning oga oga or C-suite executive?

*Does your company have online presence? Are you listed at all on the web pages or social media handles?

*In addition to pay slips and banks statements with monthly salary highlighted, maybe also include promotion/commendation letters, linkedin details, annual goals, annual manager evaluations and appraisals, call card, employment ID, vacation requests and approvals, evidence of tax payment, emails showing an aspect of your function being performed or other examples showing the completion of 2 or 3 tasks on your JD. Maybe add evidence of trainings you attended. Tie everything together in a carefully worded LOE emphasize all the aspects of the IRCC ref letter that are already present in your initial ref letter. Pls refer to the IRCC webpage indicating that we do not need to have the educational requirements for our NOC, if you believe that this is a concern (geology to banking) when you draft the LOE as you resubmit.

All the best!

Also, can you explain what you mean by ref letter containing all IRCC requests? My ref letter was tailored to the NOC. I don’t know if that was enough.

Thanks for your input

Details in screenshot (from the application checklist on page 1 post 5) is what IRCC expects to see as proof of work experience. Sample is on page 1 FAQ 48.

Applicants are free to add extra docs if they think it helps....some people include payslips and bank statements showing salary payments.

Bold - details in screenshot (from the application checklist on page 1 post 5) is what IRCC "requests"/expects to see, as proof of work experience.

Does your ref letter from your employer conform to this? Does it include the other things (apart for job description) in the screenshot like hours worked, annual salary, employment dates etc?

Page 1 FAQ 48 has a sample work ref letter.

Just guessing like aurorae1 that this may be the issue, we could be wrong. It seems like once the ref letter is perfect, people rarely get ADR for employment, although a few do. You may want to request another ref letter from your employer if the previous one is deficient, maybe add any of the other docs listed in my post that are readily available.

Please don't miss the 7 day deadline, try to submit at least a day or 2 before......... that their website used to have brain touching problem sometimes. Upload on the GCkey portal and send by webform as well (just in case).

Hello,

My question is unrelated to your post but the ‘age factor’ bit caught my attention and I’ve seen it multiple times. At what age do your chances become slimmer? Or if you could just shed more light on age as a criteria to success in pursuing Canada PR.

Thank you.

SENIORS in the house..........

Guys please want to switch to the NOC code 31101 medical laboratory assistant.

My NOC code is biologist and related scientist(21110). I worked my first year in the lab as a medical laboratory scientist and the next 4 years as a biologist in the same organization. My employment letter carries the name biologist and my masters program is in biotechnology( NOT MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENCE) my supervisor is willing to give me a reference letter for the time period i worked as a medical lab scientist , but my employment letter still says biologist.

My Questions are?

(1) submitting a reference and employment letter with different job description, is it not a red flag?

(2) Must my masters program be in the NOC code ( medical laboratory science)?

Please help me, i do not know what to do.

Good evening everyone, thank you so much for all you do. I got a notice of interest from Ontario today after setting up my profile earlier this morning. I realise that I made a mistake when setting up the form because the site was really buggy. I included my surname as part of my first name and left out one of my middle names. Herein lies my question: would updating the form to reflect the correct name invalidate my NOI from Ontario?
Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by MayorOfEdmonton: 9:39pm On Mar 21
Hey,

Check the NOC code more carefully 31101 is specialist in surgery, are you a surgeon? is that what you did in your 1st year of employment?
Check out 33101 and 32120, they are the closest to MLS. If the employment requirement of the NOC code says you need a diploma/degree, usually it’s best to have a diploma/degree in that field though with convincing proof in the reference letter(initial formal training) and a close enough/related course some folks in the past did not have issue.
So what field was your Bsc?

If your end goal is Healthcare category based ITA, kindly note that the Medical laboratory assistant/technologist experience is expected to have been within the last 3 years to qualify. This should be reflected in your reference letter.

Employment letter is not a requirement only employer reference letter is- as proof of work experience, some applicants choose to submit employment letter anyways. You can choose not to submit.

Cheers

MayorOfEdmonton:
I think a good question will be how did they send for other students in the past? Most schools already have a working system.

To send official electronic transcript(not student copy) to WES, I think the school needs to create an account with WES and the email has to originate from registrar’s/Exams&records dept(e.g registrar@unilag.com NOT xyz@yahoo.com)

You can reach out to WES to be really sure.
