Massiveglory: Growing up as kids in PH About bedtime we discovered a bullet on my cousins bed, you could see the moon from the room ceiling through the hole the bullet had created via penetration ... This is not a drill, just pray to God for his mercies everyday. |

dapaiks:lobish, U just wrote there, U have no Idea, using words U aint got a clue of.The maximum velocity of a bullet fades away as once the bullet leaves the gun nuzzle; let me come to your 90 degree, if a shot is fired from les than 90degs it means the shooter is shooting bellow his head, now tell me how someone who is 9 foot tall can aim his gun and shot in such a way that the bullet will go fru the roof of a house?. Bullets traveling fru semi parabolic path is true with a rocket as there is a 2nd lunch unlike a bullet which only have one lunch mechanism trigger. A clear illustration of what I have just said is in the Movie SHOOTER,There is a reason why a Sniper carries a High Velocity Rifle and has a spotter! |
Re: Gun Bullet On My Dad's Bed This Morning Thank Uord by Adaqueentroy: 7:01pm On Dec 25, 2021 |
erico2k2: @OP I second this writeup. Judging from physics, a bullet falling from the sky under the force of gravity cannot penetrate the roof like that. For the bullet to penetrate the roof with that amount of force, it was directly shot from above into the roof of the house. And the gun was not discharged from someone on the ground level, it came from someone on a building higher than OP's house roofing level. I really want to believe that this your case was an accidental discharge. But OP you should be looking at the possibility that your family may have being targeted. I have heard of such cases before. Some envious neighbours wait till festive season to carry out such nefarious acts. 1 Like |

erico2k2:Bullets don travel in a straight line, horizontally as you put it. Bullet travel in a semi parabolic path called trajectories |

dapaiks:Now I see where you going to, I will agree with you if we are talking at same level. But you are getting it confused, Bullets travel above the line of sight ,Now do you know what that means? At longer distances they travel in a semi curve. This is not noticeable to the naked eye and totally irrelevant to this OPs post, it tends to deep downwards cos of gravitational pull. This is what a spotter calculates to give aim to the sniper hence I made reference to the movie SHOOTER |

kalu61:But what if the bullet is fired up, rather than directly at a target? If you performed that experiment on the Moon, if the bullet went up at 1,500 miles per hour, then no matter what angle you fired it at and how long it took to come back to the lunar surface, it would come down at 1,500 miles per hour. A bullet fired away from the Moon’s surface would be just as lethal as one fired across it. But on Earth, we have our atmosphere, which means we also have air resistance. A bullet fired straight up, with no wind, might reach a height of 10,000 feet (about three kilometers), but will come back down at only around 150 miles per hour: just 10% of the speed and with only 1% of the energy as the originally fired bullet. Copied from same link you posted see your life? it clearly stated here that it comes back with 1% of its original Energy Ordinary comprehensioin of your own post you failed and U want to Educate me |

limcar:Good question U meant no oxygen in space. Answer, Modern ammunitions have oxidizing agents within them that creates oxygen for ignition and ofcos the resultant blast projects the slog, But big But, a gun that fires munitions that is Gun powder based will fire better in space than earth cos of the above theory as Gunpowder has an oxidizing agent within called Potassium Nitrate KNO3 in black gun powder. U can research this if you want. I shall stop there. |
