Over 142 flights in a month is decent for a new airport.
To be fair, those numbers are better than anywhere else outside Lagos and Abuja.

And it has to do with disposable income.

Kano airport with their billionaires don't have those numbers.
Too many poor people.

You are very correct. For a new airport to record such figure, it is easy to know that it is among the few busiest airports in Nigeria

So if you land for Enugu or Owerri you will reach Ekwulobia in 3seconds. Same you claimed road is bad same you advised people to land away from home and follow the bad road. Is it not better to land closer to home and follow the bad roads than to land away from home and start with bad road. This is not a federal government property, this is Anambra property. Allow us site our property in our land. Ogini di

michlins:
I always felt it is unnecessary. Awka to Enugu is less than an hour albeit the bad roads. So if efforts are made to fix the roads,flights will be landing in Enugu for Anambra North and central. Then Anambra South will be using Owerri airport.

Say you land in this Anambra airport, the terrible state of Anambra State roads will ensure you spend hours moving from Onitsha to Ekwulọbịa

My friend (1+1=2) ;
Think about the economic strength ,wealth and employments that a railway line; from Lagos to Onitsha; will create; and calculate, the profit and employments opportunities, that a railway line, from Kano to Maradi ,will create;then you have your answer.
Thank you.

this is your own thinking...

the reason for my first comment is people from different ethnic nations usually want to dominate the other ethnic nation so unless there is a signed agreement between the SW and SE on how it will be operated and how revenue will be shared then it's okay... but normally one ethnic nation will want to gain more than the other..

Another reason for my comment is Igbo have never partnered with the SW and when they had the opportunity in the 1960s they wanted to take control of the western region through been premier and when that didn't work out they attacked the SW... the same thing happened with the Ijaws after oil was discovered in Bayelsa, all the igbo leaders had to do was give the ijaws more control and percentage of the oil but they wanted it for Igbos only.

In summary, Igbos when they are trying to be in a business relationship with other southern ethnic nations including the Yoruba the Igbos will always want total control over such business relationship and subjugate non-igbos...

I want to believe that is why they imagine that they are like those egocentric jews, the most selfish race known to humanity?

Even for Jesus of Nazareth saying that he wants to enlighten the world on the covenant that his people had with Jehovah, they decided to kill him than for us gentiles to share the so called promise of Yahweh with them.

using the airports in Enugu, Asaba and Imo states is an economic decision. Anambra can use the funds to put in place do many other needed infrastructure and keep growing the state GDP. Obviously you guys are looking at it from "bragging rights" angle and not sound economy decision.

That's why many fail in business. Take advantage of opportunities presented by others and grow.

Anambra needs pipe born water system,many of the roads need repairs. I can list tons of areas the funds will be invested in and it will benefit not just the rich but every single person in Anambra

I don't think ur opinion is needed or even matter the airport will generate billions for anambra state yearly thausands of anambra people will be employed in this airport making them remain in anambra instead of traveling to other states to look for employment that's not available. The airport is a great investment and also a necessity no matter how u want to look at it other coming governors after obiano won't be building any other airport but would rather focus on other areas.

And that's with small plans that carry less than 40 people ...so when fully operational we should be expecting 20,000 to 50,000 flights monthly ...with international flight it would hit 200k per month

Charging is passenger #2500 and 50,000 passengers that's #125 million from passengers alone this can power the airport ( Diesel ) and pay very staff of the airport plus #30, million for maintaining the airport per month

The money gotten from airlines would just be pure profit estimated to be around #5 billion per year ...in 5 years airport is profitable

MMA is said to have 3000 passengers daily
Paptapata 20 or 30 flights daily
That's 900 flights a month

Where is Anambra going to get 50K flights?

Narcotics trade, NDLEA can give you flight schedule itinerary.

Even Pablo Escobar built his own airport in Medellin.

If you know what kind of sacrifices that Igbos have given to there southern brothers ;including the Yorubas ;you wount say all this;without Ndigbo resistance according to Obasanjo Nigeria would have been Islamitzed long time ago by the Fulanis;reason why they hate Ndigbo so much;
AD party (Action Group) was not even a strong national political party; prior to 2015; an Igbo man Ogbonaya Onu stepped down; a strong Igbo national party to help ;pilot AD to form APC to help the Yoruba race.the Igbo and Yoruba have a magic synergy that appears not to exist among any other nationality in Nigeria: in the work places, in housing estates, in shanties, in schools, market places, beer parlours, face-me-I-face-you and above all in the spiritual realm, mainly churches. Material and cosmic relations bring them together and even bind them almost in ways inseparable.

In the past few years, the number of inter-marriages between Igbo and Yoruba have tripled. The third generation of Igbo in Yoruba territories speaks Yoruba as their first language. Many of them when they travel to the East and are to return would say they were ‘going back home’. Even if Biafra emerges today I do not see how the cordial relationship between Igbo and Yoruba would be a minus. In Yoruba villages, Igbo have remarkable dominion.

To upturn this amazing cobweb for any reason is tactless, reckless and irresponsible. On both sides, there are extremists, . It is the responsibility of leaders on both sides, young and old, men and women, armed and defenseless people alike, to exterminate base instincts and advance values that protect and glorify the lowest and highest common factors of unity and prosperity between the two great empires.

This should be the stand of any responsible people or individuals. This is the position that will advance humanity and protect the heritage of the two great nations

This is good to hear. But there are still lots to be done with regard to seaports, airports, etc. Concentrating everything in Lagos is not healthy in any sense. If every part of the country is developed, mass migration of people to 'cities where things are happening will reduce', security will be enhanced, life expectancy will go up, etc. It shouldn't be if you are not in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kano, Ibadan, etc you are not going to live.
