They destroyed shanties and allowed the houses of big men who put them to "good use".

Oh God of the poor where art thou?

If you are chasing people from the place, chase everybody; if you can't chase everybody then allow everybody.

This selective eviction is nothing but the height of corruption and wickedness to the poor.

So it's not "good use", that the downtrodden come to lay their heads in those shanties, Abi?

And when you consider the fact that some of these guys must have rented those places or paid land charges to raise their pako, that's when you know how painful it would be.

May God of the poor come to their aid.
How do you want the coastal road to be constructed then? And we keep complaining About underdevelopment but we can't pass through the pain.

The government notified those staying there over 1year ago, why are they still there!

Government would mark properties encroaching the road during road construction and same Nigerians will start complaining when demolition starts Years or decades after

GOD BLESS SANWO-OLU.

Very Good Development.

That's a good one.

Lagos State : A country within a country.

The State of many Firsts.

God bless Lagos State.

God bless Nigeria.

We Rise.

Igbos are very pathetic animals.
Bunch of brainwashed swines they are.
The never do wells in the society.
Cannibalistic murderers they are.

Here is a governor working,
And we have another governor in a certain state, promising (ON NATIONAL TV) any woman that delivers in their health center, a whopping #500 (FIVE HUNDRED NAIRA!!) to take care of themselves and their babies!!!!
THAT is a whopping 90 cents in US currency!!!!

But these hypocritical swines never for one day said anything about this foolishness, but they are here condemning Sanwo-Olu 24/7!!!

May Devil and Amadioha punish all hypocrites and enemies of peace and progress in our darling nation.

God bless you real good.
And God bless your parents for giving us a King like you.

Honestly,u distort my viewings on threads with these ur long blabbings. You keep seeking for unnecessary validations. Stop it

It's not compulsory to live in Lagos. Go back to your village and erect your shanties.

If the federal government want to fight open defecation these are the places they should start from.

Since the coastal road is more important than the shanties, so the shanties have to give way for coastal road to become a reality. It is unfortunate for the poor people that are affected.

Gbam, the coastal road will reduce the traffic burden on Lekki-Epe express way.

Bro, save us the Robin Hood speech. Majority of people in those places are grown adult who know they should not be living there.

Very unfair to Lagos is the fact that 99% of dwellers of those shanties are people from outside Lagos, and even Nigeria, who deliberately came to set up homes and lives in Lagos with no money, no jobs and absolutely no means of sustaining themselves.

Confused people like you love yabbing Lagos yet you are against moves the State makes to gain order and improved socio-economic gains for her law-abidding citizens.

Next you will start pleading the case for cultist killers and kidnappers.

Simple. In most cases, these people will have been given many warnings to leave also. The reality is that Lagos is becoming close to being overrun by illegality and lawlessness.

Then build the road once and for all. What is the point in going through the circle of destroying shanties, rebuilding them, and destroying again?

The road is fully built and links V.I to Lekki. The only difference is that most structures along the road are under construction and most of the shanty dwellers are the casual labourers at these sites.

They need to build the road.

This problem has been recurring for decades and it will continue to happen until the road is built. That road has been promised since the Jakande era and the only way to solve the problem is by actually building the road. If not, the shanties will return in a few months time.

I don't even understand the delay in the commencement of the road construction, or is it funding?. It was flagged off since last year, yet we haven't seen much done on it besides clearing up the place.

The funny thing is that people like the person you quoted will be amongst those shouting that Lagos is the largest slum in the world, but when the government makes attempt to clear the slum, they'll now change tone and want the government to have sympathy on the dwellers.

Those ghetto people are so stubborn, they will come back and rebuild.
LASG used to destroying the place from time to time but before you know it those people will gather again.
Task force even came with thugs to displace them but they still remain there.

Majority of them are from Niger Republic and are criminally minded

What is the definition of "Mega City"

What does it mean to

"make a Mega ciity"?

Whether Mega or not shanties are not desirable

Invoking "Mega City" is Gibgle-gabble aka wotoworo

The way those people block the road leading to Goshen from that blue water, it's so shameful the government allow them keep scrap on the road, that is a huge security threat for the neighborhood, they block the road as well, those scrap sellers are constituting a big nuisance on that road, road linking blue water luxury apartments to Goshen. In an area like Marwa, it's a shame for government to allow it.

WELL SAID,

That place was an alternative road to Marwa but it's a terrible mess now. Close to the ocean and blue water apartments. It's a coastal line but don't be surprised it would be taken over and allocate to developers. Instead of road.
