I have noticed that anytime I send text message to people I don't get replies back. Infact, they would prefer to reply my text message by sending me message on whatsapp or Facebook. So is it the 4₦ or it's just some unwritten rule to not reply text message.

Ps. I only send text message when what I wanna say is important or an emergency. I could call but ....

Brother, #4 ain't much but you must know that in this part of the world, WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter and Telegram has made it easier to communicate with people. WhatsApp especially is the easiest way to communicate here in Africa (my opinion).

People have become used to it and that has made them reluctant to always text via phone or reply. You must also know that using social media platforms for communication is way cheaper.

Maybe your network is bad.

Although, I'm a ghost on it. I don't post nor view status. 95% of my contacts don't even know I'm still active. I like it that way.

Yesterday, I linked a friend up with a prospective client of his work. He was shocked seeing my message. I had to tell him I'm always online but private.

Just like formal and informal letters, text messages is for the former, while chat messages is for the latter.

If you really need an urgent reply, then call the recipient.

But what if you want to pass an important message?

Call would be a good means, then you can still send text for reminder.
