Nigerian actress Uche Ogbodo stepped out today in an attire that got many speechless.

The actress wore a jean short widely referred to as ‘crazy jean’ or ‘rag jean’ with a white t-shirt, a pair of socks and a brown Timberland boots.

The actress outfit is simply considered as that of a gangster.

Some weeks ago Uche was almost beaten up by a military personnel, although the military personnel was the one at fault has he hit the car of the actress.

Many of her fans could not hold it as they have asked her which school is having their rag day today.

Uche Ogbodo was born on May 17, 1986, she is also a producer. Born in Enugu State, Ogbodo's journey to Nollywood began following the decision of her father to register her with the Actors Guild of Nigeria in Enugu State. Since her since debut in 2006, she has gone on to star in several films.

Rev. Vincent Mulwa a pastor at Christ Pilgrim Restoration Centre, Kenya, has come out to challenge the Christian doctrine that men should only marry one wife to save a generation of women who are ageing without husbands.

In an interview with Kenya’s The Daily Nation, Rev. Mulwa says Africans bought the world views of European missionaries who brought Christianity into Africa and abandoned polygamy, a practice that was rife even among the people who lived during biblical times.

Rev Mulwa said he wants Christian leaders to review teachings on monogamous marriages, claiming there is no verse in the Bible supporting it.

He says this is necessary to “save a generation of women who are ageing in church without husbands”.

“I have been in the ministry for 38 years, preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ but now I have realised that we ministers of the gospel have lost our believers,” he said during the interview.

Rev Mulwa argues that many women are ending up unmarried and others are single and widows after they fail to get husbands.

“I have never seen anywhere in the Bible where prophets and preachers prayed for single ladies to get married. The Bible people were polygamous and everyone had a husband,”

He says, adding that widows were allowed to become concubines.

He says polygamy was commonly practised by many African traditional communities and the Jewish culture was also polygamous, adding that it only began to fade with the introduction of Christianity.

“As far as the Bible is concerned, the number of wives or concubines that one has does not matter and is not a standard of holiness. I have come out to tell Christians that we must preach the true gospel and allow our men in the church to marry as many wives as they want. Polygamy is not about men needing many wives but it’s about women needing husbands.”

According to the cleric, the Bible has only come out strongly to condemn adultery, which is taking another man’s wife.

The reverend argues that the fact that the missionaries, who mostly came from Rome, began to preach monogamy does not mean that this is what the Bible teaches.

“It is unfortunate for the Church that today, when our dear brothers and sisters attend theological schools, they are fed with so much gentile-tilted theology that upon graduation, they are well equipped to vigorously convince the world to buy into the Roman immigration of Christianity,” he says.

He says Christianity is not an American or European culture. Rather, it is God’s way of reaching and dealing with humankind.

Rev Mulwa, who says he is officially married to one wife, says he was preaching in a church he started 20 years ago but had to leave the church because his wife and members disagreed with his polygamy teaching.

“I told my wife that as much as she doesn’t want to agree with me, I will continue preaching the gospel of polygamy until the whole world hears of it because that is the true gospel,” he says.

When asked if he has secret wives to which he responds:

“The number of wives I have is not an issue. If I have one wife or more, I will not be holier than the other. That’s why I am saying Christian men should be allowed to marry many wives.”

His interpretation of the Bible is that it has not condemned polygamy. Rather, it was practised widely by men of God in the Bible.

“Polygamy is an acceptable practice. No lady should stay without a husband. Christianity remains the most holy faith, but when preached from the perspective of the European and American gentiles, then it is definitely the filthiest religion on earth.”

He gives the example of some of the men in the Bible like Abraham and David who married more than one wife and had concubines with whom they got children.

“The holiness was in how these men dealt with their many wives and concubines and God had no problem with them,” he says.

The reverend says it is wrong to imagine that God would have created two wives for Adam as “God created them so that they may fill the world”

He noted that in the Bible, some women seemed to have been in a complex situation such that remarrying was out of thought. They ended up being concubines.

But even for concubines, there was discipline, he says, and a man found with another man’s concubine was to be beaten.

“This was a lesser punishment compared to when you were found with someone’s wife where the sentence was death by stoning,” he adds.

A former Senior Special Assistant to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Doyin Okupe, has highlighted the reason for the decline in the practice of democratic system of government in Nigeria.

Abati stated that electing presidents, governors to be leaders of political parties is to be blamed.

The former presidential spokesman on his Facebook page further urged Nigerian leaders to take a cue from Jacob Zuma’s resignation in order to restore democracy.

Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale has said he will not sit aloof and wait for a Pastor to visit a shrine to kill him just because he wants to prove a point that he has the power to make and unmake.

According to him, if the Pastor who predicted his death thinks he is a man of God, he should meet him so he proves to him that he is also anointed by the Holy Ghost and that the Pastor is a thief and not a man of God.

Shatta Wale who made this call in a Facebook Live stream video made a clarion call on the President of Ghana to draw his attention to the fact that his life has been threatened by a Pastor.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Monday released the names of coaching crews of all the National Teams, including those of the main Senior Men Team (Super Eagles), U20 Women (Falconets) and U17 Women (Flamingos) whose contracts are running.

Chairman of the Technical and Development Committee, Alhaji Yusuf Ahmed ‘Fresh’ told thenff.com that the appointments are with immediate effect.

He assured that his committee had done due diligence on all the names and approved the constitution.

Yusuf ‘Fresh,’ who is also vice chairman of the NFF Strategy Committee, said: “All the coaches will be unveiled at a later date, alongside the coaching crews of the U20 and U17 girls that were appointed earlier as a result of their World Cup qualifying campaigns.”

The Big Brother Naija reality TV show seems to be getting more dramatic by the day. One of the coolest housemates on the show, Ahneeka, has finally revealed what could be her true identity as she blasted another housemate Teddy A, saying he doesn’t respect women.
After yesterday’s Friday night PayPorte arena games was completed. Teddy A and Ahneeka were seen engrossed in a conversation when she was asked not to be silly by Teddy A. In her response, she said Teddy A meant she was silly and she would not take that.

It was then that Ahneeka got really angry and blasted Teddy A, she went on to say that he has no respect for women at all. Ahneeka told Teddy A that he’s f**k!ng stupid.
She seemed not to be cool with the statement as she could be seen ranting all around the house and making known her grievances to anyone that cared to listen. Even Big Bitto tried to offer his help by trying to calm her down but she was uncontrollable.
She was finally able to calm down after a while as she found her seat beside Angel. Angel tried to pacify her saying whatever Teddy must have told her should not be taken serious as that was his opinion and doesn’t determine who she is. And everyone of the Big Brother Naija show has the right to say whatever pleases them.

Leo also came around to Ahneeka and told her that Teddy A didn’t abuse her, Leo was of the view that all Teddy A said was “don’t be silly” meaning he didn’t directly say that Ahneeka is stupid.
Ahneeka however did not want to take any of that. In her opinion she believes Teddy A doesn’t respect women at all and that she had noticed that ever since they all stepped on the Big Brother Naija show.

She even mentioned that she noticed the way he peaks to Bambam and she is not in any way pleased with that.

Retired Major General Paul Tarfa has held many positions of authority in both military and civilian capacities, such as Managing Director/CEO of the Nigerian Railway Corporation. However, he is more famous for his stellar career as an officer of the Guards Brigade, and as a former commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA). Daily Trust caught up with him for a chat. Excerpts:

Mc Ebisco: You are remembered as an embodiment of discipline in the NDA. How did you feel when you were posted there?

Maj-Gen. Paul Tarfa: It was an honour to go to the NDA as commandant, as it entails a lot of things. First, you must be professional enough. You must be knowledgeable, and you must be somebody who lives and breathes the profession. I enjoyed being there, to contribute a little, especially in shaping the character of the cadets.

At that time, the NDA was still growing, and many things especially infrastructure were lacking. Roads were not very good, accommodation not enough. Water systems, planting of trees, general welfare of soldiers and officers, all those things needed improvement and I am glad we did very well to improve on all of them. I don’t have any bad memories as the cadets were young people, and we were there to train them in the right direction.

Mc Ebisco: Your former cadets are now generals, etc. How does that make you feel?

Maj-Gen. Tarfa: I was a cadet at one time, and those who trained me, if they are still there will say General Tarfa was my cadet. It was a privilege in the first place. To the glory of God, we are seeing what they are doing now, they are doing very well and we feel very proud. Those that we were privileged to have trained always come and say ‘you trained us sir’. That is one of the pleasures of having been a commandant.

Mc Ebisco: It was an emotional moment for some people when you were leaving the NDA. Why was it so?

Maj-Gen. Tarfa: I’m happy you asked this question. It was very emotional as there were people who felt I did well for them, especially those doing menial jobs, like sweepers, gardeners and so on. Many of them benefited during my time because they acknowledged that I improved their lives, and so when I was going, they were in a dilemma over what was going to happen to them. I accommodated a lot of them, and they were happy.

Mc Ebisco: As a former MD/CEO of the Nigerian Raily Corporation, what do you think should be done to revive railways properly?

Maj-Gen. Tarfa: The government said its intention was to get every state capital linked with the railway lines. I hope it is going to happen; this ought to have been done long ago. However, it can only happen if we take corruption out of it. If we take a look at the short span between Abuja and Kaduna, I was told that the amount spent on that distance could have done the whole length of Abuja-Kaduna-Kano. So, if it continues like this, God knows how far we can go. If you take corruption out of this, it will be the best form of transportation.

Mc Ebisco: As a Civil War veteran, what is your assessment of the insurgency in the North East, with particular reference to your home state of Adamawa?

Maj-Gen. Tarfa: President Muhammadu Buhari came to power when a lot of people had lost hope in the North East. Boko Haram entered my house three times in my village, Garkida, in Adamawa State and I lost nine members of my immediate family. My niece, her husband and two graduate sons, my brothers lost five members, the villagers were harassed, some ran into the bush, some of them died of snakebites, schools were closed, no water, sickness everywhere among others.

Buhari came in and he did very well by appointing the right people to do the right job considering what it was three years ago. The hardship was reduced as Boko Haram retreated and today we are saying Boko Haram is defeated. Boko Haram was not only a threat to my village or Adamawa, it was a threat to the North East and the entire country.

Today we go to Churches and Mosques and so on in peace. Buhari tried to put a halt to corruption which is inimical to the poor man, killings, kidnappings among others, but of course, there are some problems here and there but it was not as it were during the previous administration. Hate speech has reduced, and yet people are saying he should go. I don’t think Buhari came into power to solve all the problems of the country, the country will continue to live even after his eight years, the problem will still be there so why are they saying he should go?

People used to say ‘why change a good team with a team you don’t know how it will perform’. My view is that he is doing a good job and he should be allowed to continue if he wants. After all, it is a democracy.

Mc Ebisco: What do you think should be done to the money recovered from looters?

Maj-Gen. Tarfa: The money and property collected from criminals should be judiciously channeled to public use. Government can build roads from Warri to Sokoto, Ughelli to Kano or Katsina, from Port Harcourt to Maiduguri and so on all over the country, and the names of those who looted the money should be boldly written by the side of the road to deter others from such acts. This is better than saying money has been recovered and nobody sees what has been done with it.

Mc Ebisco: What is your advice to President Buhari?

Maj-Gen. Tarfa: My only criticism and suggestions to President Muhammadu Buhari are that he should appoint responsible panels for building or improving hospitals, for constructing and maintaining roads, for construction and maintenance of dams and so on, and people will hail him. That is better than putting the money back to the state for thieves to steal. I am against the mere pronouncements by the EFCC chairman, that billions or trillions have been recovered. Tell the people where the money is going to, and not just making statements on the pages of newspapers.

Mc Ebisco: What is your reaction to the controversial correspondences of generals Olusegun Obasanjo and Ibrahim Babangida, to Buhari?

Maj-Gen. Tarfa: General Obasanjo should have met the president on personal basis. I support Buhari to seek for a second term and let the electorate decide to either vote him or not. Buhari cannot solve the problems of Nigeria; they would still be there even after eight years in office. On the letter, or letters written by Babangida to Buhari, I did not read them. I deliberately decided not to.

Whoever said President Buhari should go is just expressing views, and mine is that there should be continuity. When he leaves, then somebody else can take over. But nobody should tell him to go.

President Buhari Loses Sister In-LawA sister in-law to President Muhammadu Buhari, Hajiya Aisha Mamman, is dead.

According to reports, Mamman who is the wife of President Buhari’s elder brother, late Alhaji Mamman Danbaffale, died today.

She was 75 years old.

Mamman is survived by eight children, including Fatihu Mamman, a staff of the Nigerian Communications Commission and Hajiya Rbiya Mamman, a nutrition officer with the Katsina State Government.

She has since been buried in Daura in accordance with Islamic injunction.

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, Tuesday announced the lifting of the curfew on Gboko town.

He made the announcement at a meeting he held with leaders of the Benue Motorcycle Association across the state and heads of security agencies at the Benue Peoples House.

Governor Ortom reiterated his condemnation of the killings at the Gboko motorpart but maintained that the victims were not Fulani people as reported in some quarters.

Ortom had approved the imposition of a dusk to dawn curfew in Gboko town since January, 31 2018, due to the recent outbreak of violence in the state.

The Governor insisted that the criminals who carried out the condemnable act should be apprehended and prosecuted.

He urged the people not to take the laws into the hands but to report infringements on their rights to the appropriate authorities.

The Governor expressed appreciation to the Motorcycle Association for their pledge to assist in tackling the security challenges in the state.

The Kano State government has said it arrested no fewer than 94 beggars in Kano metropolis for allegedly violating the law banning street begging in the state.

This was made known to journalists on Saturday by Dahiru Nuhu, the officer in charge of Anti-Begging Unit of the state’s Hisbah Board.

Mc Ebisco reports that Hisbah is an Islamic doctrine which refers to the duty of the government to intervene and coercively to keep the society in order according to sharia legal system.

Nuhu, who revealed that 24 of the street-beggars were children, while 70 were adults, said: “the suspects were arrested during different raids in the metropolis.

“The arrests were carried out in January in areas around motor parks and restaurants but first time offenders were warned and released.”

Nuhu urged people to shun begging but instead, use their hands to better their livelihood.

The violation of the law banning street begging in Kano attracts a minimum of three months jail term if convicted.

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has said a strong statement from President Muhammadu Buhari would end killings by Fulani herdsmen across the country.

Okowa, while expressing worry over spread of killings by Fulani herdsmen to some other parts of the country like Abuja, said security agencies needed to disarm herdsmen of their rifles.

According to him, herdsmen should not be empowered to carry guns, riffles and roam in people’s farms except if they were members of security agency.

Okowa speaking further on security issues in the country blamed the inability of federal government to fulfil its promises to Pan Niger Delta Forum as reason for latest threats by the Niger Delta avengers.

He told Sun “Well, I actually think that there is a lot that needs to be done about increasing herdsmen attacks. This problem has been on in the last few years, but it appears to have taken a new dimension now. Because the killings you are hearing about now, yes because of the large numbers in Benue and Taraba States.

“It is coming to the fore, but you find those killings everywhere. Even as I was here (in Abuja,) I got a report that somebody was killed in my state by one of the herdsmen.

“I think that the security agencies must stand up to this very wrong approach to the issues of cattle rearing because when people come out and they carry guns, I don’t think that that was what used to happen in the past. Because in the past we used to see herdsmen, they come in; they relate with the people in the various villages, that is not the position at the moment. But when you just stroll into people’s farms, stroll into people’s lands and continue to do all manner of things, it is not right.

“I believe that there has to be a strong statement coming out from the presidency and such strong statements from President Buhari will possibly spur the Security agencies to take appropriate actions.

“First I believe that every herdsman must be totally disarmed because it is not the right thing to do, I don’t think that they are empowered to carry guns as they do, no Nigerian is empowered to carry such riffles except if they are members of security agency. So, we must do that.

“Delta State is unhappy that the federal government is yet to fulfil its promises to the Pan Niger Delta Forum, (PANDEF), two years after the promises were made.FG’s inability to fulfil the promises was responsible for the latest threats by the Niger Delta Avengers. ”

Recall that the Niger Delta Avengers threatened to resume hostility in the oil-rich region.

On the proposed cattle colony, Okowa added that the state does not have enough land for that.

“In the first instance you know that Delta State is possibly half of water, half of land. So, obviously we are in need of land,”‎ he said.

A man who is reported to be named ThankGod Eruagah from port Harcourt almost got his childhood friend killed in computer village in ikeja lagos.

The later who blamed the act on the current economy crisis duped his friend Vitalis Darlinton of a sum of N2.4 million.

This all started in Port Harcourt were the two friends reside, the suspect tricked his victim and brought him to Lagos and set him up in computer village.

Vitalis had told ThankGod that he has gathered a large sum of money to enable him travel overseas to go look for a better life. When the suspect knew that his friend have such amount of money he laid out plans on how to extort the money from his friend.

He told him he could help him acquire his travel documents and ticket which he did but it was all forged documents after he had collected all the money.

When they had gotten to Lagos ThankGod got an accommodation at Iyana Ipaja where they lodged. He took him to computer village today to buy a phone worth N100, 000 so his friend will use in traveling tomorrow.

He told the seller of the phone that he wants to take the phone along with him to go and withdraw money, and that his friend will wait behind till he comes back. He revealed this to the police after his arrest.

Before then, Darlington has been rounded up in the market as a criminal and was about to be murdered after they had waited for ThankGod to no avail.

However, the victim was lucky as the police used ThankGod’s phone to call him. The victim picked the call and narrated the story to the police, what ThankGod had done and that his life was in danger at the Computer Village.

The police then rushed down to Ikeja, rescued and brought him to the police station with the owner of shop, where the phone was recovered and given back to the owner.

During the interrogation, ThankGod confessed that he procured fake papers and as such the victim cannot travel abroad with the documents.

He was charged before Ejigbo Magistrates court for stealing the phone and for defrauding his friend.

He pleaded not guilty.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. F.J. Layeni granted ThankGod bail in the sum of N300, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.

The matter has been adjourned till 28 February, 2018.

So don’t trust your friend too much, for too much can be very dangerous.

The Nigerian singer Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun popular known as Wizkid has given his reason why he was absent at Banky’s wedding ceremony in Cape Town.

Wizkid said he couldn’t go down to South Africa as he promised to after he missed the traditional marriage because his passport was withheld.

The two were seen parting together in Victoria Island along with Paul Okoye.

Speculation is rife that OJB Jezreel’s eldest wife, and her father-in-law, Chief Anthony Okungbowa, are at war over the late music producer’s property.

Recall that on June 14, 2016, the iconic music producer died of kidney failure after a long battle with the disease during which his eldest wife, Mabel, donated one of her kidneys to him in a transplant surgery.

But latest information about the family the deceased left behind has it that his other two wives have moved out of his house, a four-bedroom flat bungalow and a duplex at Surulere, Lagos, while Mabel and OJB’s father are bickering over the property.

Report said trouble erupted between the senior Okungbowa and his daughter-in-law after he ordered her to vacate the house and leave behind her children, Ayokunle, a newly minted graduate of University of Lagos and Tolani, an undergraduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State.

Chief Okungbowa, according news flying around, claimed the land on which the property is located is his.

The mother-of-two was said to be uncomfortable with the her father-in-law’s order. Turning her nose at it, she reportedly placed the caveat, “This House is not for sale” on the property.

A former police officer-turned armed robber, Collins Ezenwa alias Emoney and members of his gang were shot dead at the weekend.

The suspects were killed by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) during a robbery operation in Imo State on Saturday, January 27.

According to reports, EMoney left the Nigerian Police Force early last year under the pretence of going to Malaysia in search of greener pastures.

He returned to his city late last year, a very rich man, claiming to have made lots of money in Malaysia. He got married in a grand wedding ceremony on November 11.
