Lupus is a horrible disease that attacks several organs. That said, even though it does not have a cure, most people who live with lupus and treat it carefully get to live a normal life-span. Not sure why a doctor would say that to her.

I really doubt the part of the story about "having 5 years to live", but well...

That being said, one of the complications of lupus is lupus nephritis which can lead to chronic kidney disease, which in turn can lead to a much reduced life expectancy.

The other complications of lupus (cerebritis, serositis as well as the skin lesions) may be debilitating but they are not life threatening.

I guess she hasn't gotten over the shock of having a chronic disease that burns a hole in your pocket.

She didn't get to carry the child as she was hospitalized for about 6 months until she gave up.. Terrible disease

With God nothing is impossible. Forget about money. Go to the Lord's Chosen Charismatic Revival ministry and your story must change. If you are in Lagos then go to Ijesha bus stop along Oshodi-Mile 2 Express.
Days of fellowship:
Tuesdays, morning and evening sessions.
Thursdays, morning and evening sessions.
Fridays, prayers from 10 pm. Go there and see for your self that God truly exist. Shalom.

Madam I dont know you oh but I can say for sure that you have at least 4 years to seek the face of Jesus to heal you.

Unlike the Most Peaceful Religion on Earth, the God of the bible heals.

Jesus raises people from the dead, so Him healing you is no big deal to Him

Luke 7:22
Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard;
how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed,
the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

Please dont seek yahoo pastors in nija for prayers, they are all frauds.

Ask members of your family & well wishers to join you in prayers.

If she takes out all processed foods, sugars and just startbinge drinking organic veggies and fruits juice she makes herself, plant protein no animal protein and Intermittent fasting plus a switch from her belief in the religion of the 7th century illiterate child molesting false prophet..

Let her do this for a year straight. I am of the opinion that her body will reverse back to normalcy.

Even if this doesn't work. She is still better than billions. At least she got informed by the doctors of her impeding death. It is a call by God for her to put things in order before she exits. Faith in Islam will lead her straight to Hell. It is even said in the qu'ran. That pedophile prophet could not save himself talk more of saving her or others.

Romans 10:13.
Then let her immediately switch to the diet I spelled above and her body system might just reverse.

Prognosis and life expectancy
The prognosis of lupus is better today than ever before. With close follow-up and treatment, 80-90% of people with lupus can expect to live a normal life span.

It is true that medical science has not yet developed a method for curing lupus, and some people do die from the disease. However, for the majority of people living with the disease today, it will not be fatal.

Lupus varies in intensity and degree. Some people have a mild case, others moderate and some severe, which tends to be more difficult to treat and control. For people who have a severe flare-up, there is a greater chance that their lupus may be life-threatening.

People with non-organ threatening aspects of lupus can look forward to a normal lifespan if they:
Follow the instructions of their physician
Take their medication(s) as prescribed
Know when to seek help for unexpected side effects of a medication or a new manifestation of their lupus
Although some people with lupus have severe recurrent attacks that result in hospitalization, most people with lupus rarely require hospitalization. Especially those who maintain a healthy lifestyle.

New research brings unexpected findings each year. The progress made in treatment and diagnosis during the last decade has been greater than that made over the past 100 years. It is therefore a sensible idea to maintain control of a disease that tomorrow may be curable.

A common misperception about life expectancy
Some confusion about lupus life expectancy relates to the way research is communicated.

Research that shows 80-90% of people with lupus live for more than 10 years is often misinterpreted as giving people with lupus only 10 years to live. It is important to understand that the "10 years" used in this context does not represent the number of years the person lived after their diagnosis, but rather the number of years involved in the study.

These studies followed patients with lupus from the time of diagnosis for a period of ten years. At the end of this research period, researchers were able to conclude that 80-90% of the people enrolled were still alive.

They did not continue to follow these patients to look at what happened in years 11, 12, 15, 20 and so on. We know there are many people who have been living with lupus for 15, 25, 30 and even 40 years.

Personal Stories
Angel Williams Derricott: Overcoming Obstacles and Making a Difference

Angel was just 12 years old when she started seeing a hematologist, rheumatologist, oncologist and several other specialists for unexplained symptoms, unusual body pains, discomfort, and extreme fatigue. As she struggled with the diagnostic uncertainty, it was a lengthy and challenging process, and she did not anticipate the impact lupus would have on her. It was as if her life was transformed in a blink of an eye.

After a little over twenty years, Angel has undergone numerous surgeries, recovered from a pulmonary embolism, and has had to receive multiple blood transfusions. While facing adversity, she remained resilient and is now using her experiences to help others, and advocate not only for herself, but for other lupus warriors seeking appropriate access to care and an accurate and timely diagnosis.

“In addition to lupus, I now have a variety of other illnesses as a result of the damage it has caused to my body. Today, I am taking back control over my life, by sharing my story in hopes it will provide more insight and further educate others about lupus, and especially the importance in taking charge of your health,” said Angel. “I hope my voice will change the life of at least one person as we fight together and overcome this cruel and invisible disease.”

The moment Angel became a trained volunteer ambassador for the Lupus Foundation of America, she has been involved in numerous initiatives aimed at raising lupus awareness, funds to support lupus research, and ensuring health equity. For instance, as a patient representative on the global advisory committee for the Addressing Lupus Pillars for Health Advancement (ALPHA) Project, Angel brings a unique perspective to the table, as the committee discusses the importance of access to care in improving health outcomes.

Even with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, she understands that every opportunity to educate the public on lupus will move the lupus community forward. Angel approaches every event, from speaking engagements at the Lupus Advocacy Summit to participating in the Walk to End Lupus Now® and sharing her lupus story with media outlets, as a chance to give back to her community.

“I’m so fortunate to have an amazing support system made up of family, friends, and peers in the lupus community!” Angel adds. “Because of them, I am encouraged and empowered each day to share my experiences and play a pivotal role in advancing lupus education and research.”

Living with lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease isn’t easy. With a generous gift, you can support and make a difference in the lives of so many people with lupus.

A lupus diagnosis is not a death sentence and you are not alone. The British born Nigerian singer, SEAL, has been living with the disease for decades.

Find an online community of people that are living with lupus so they can share their stories to strengthen your faith. They'll also give info e.g best specialty doctors, diet, medications etc to maintain the disease and live a relatively normal life.

Autoimmune diseases(lupus, multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia etc) are terrible, but hope is extremely necessary to fight them. So whatever you do, don't give up hope!

There are people who have less than a day to live yet they are living life like nothing is gonna happen because they've got no idea of what's about to happen.

But here you are (with a whole 4 years ahead of you to live life to it's fullest) crying because you have been privileged to know your day of appointment with death.

How we all are privileged to know so that we can further streamline our priorities.

Anyway, have faith in God. Doctor's report is not final.

Kemi, continue with your physical treatments while you hope for the best. Always remember what Ali Banat did when he was told by his doctor he had 3 years to live. He did what was right. You do the same before Allah calls you.
