He installed functional street lights in both the roads he built and the old roads built by all previous governments. His light-up Anambra project was really a novel success that every community in the state has at least one or two major roads leading there with functional street lights!

Willie Obiano sustained the legacy of Peter Obi in Education and even did more. For eight ( years, the standard set by Obi didn’t drop. Money were constantly allocated to Missions to manage schools under their care. This act alone, reduced Private school dominance in Anambra State and returned the glory of public schools.
While you still feel bitter and would want the world to know that Willie Obiano had over 2000 aides; don’t forget to add that thousands won the fight and battle against poverty through that singular initiative. Graduates and bright young population who would have added to the long list of criminals and syndicates in our society were instead absorbed into governance to add their quota to the development of our dear State and in so doing earned values that would last them a lifetime. Many of those are today CEOs, Business developers, political leaders and lots more. Willie Obiano understood so well that in mixed economy and in a society where there are no much opportunities, the Government steps in to shoulder responsibilities. This he did without noise. You may choose to disagree that appointments are not for charity, but let it be on record that the human capital development is not defined by your school of thought alone.
In as much as Governor Soludo wasn’t clear about what he met in the coffer, let it be on record that Willie Obiano left many projects in place that will account for the moneys Obi left for him and these projects when utilized, would yield immediate returns to the State.
Anambra is today an Oil producing State and due for the 13% Oil Derivation entitlement. All were made possible by Dr. Willie Obiano.
While Soludo is declaring the liability he inherited, let him also declare assets he equally inherited. Let the discerning public juxtapose the Assets and Liabilities and be the judge themselves.
The EFCC ordeal of Willie Obiano is a political issue with those he stepped on their toes while in line of service and governance of our dear Anambra State.

I supported Peter Obi when he ruled Anambra State. if you go through my posts from 2012 to 2015, you would see it all there. In the same way, I supported Obiano during his era. Both men meant well for Anambra. They had different styles with their characteristic strengths and weaknesses.
Obiano believed that with adequate infrastructure and economic base, Anambra would achieve its true potential. Obi believed that with the right education and equipping the schools, Anambra would produce leaders that would compete globally and help develop the state. Both men were right!
My recent disgust with Peter Obi around his unforgiving spirit against Obiano is mainly due to how shortsighted Peter Obi has been. Let us face it, Peter Obi had NEVER said that Obiano did not perform excellently as a governor. His only beef was that he was denied the right to appoint people to the government of Obiano after he was pivotal in bringing Obiano to power. Now, if I were peter Obi and truly placed the overall interest of the state over my own personal interests, I would have left Obiano alone as long as he performed well. But Peter Obi did not do this. Even after Obiano made efforts to reconcile with Mr. Obi, and went the extra mile of completing the Agulu Lake hotel to placate Peter Obi.
Compare Peter Obi's public rage against Obiano for not having a role in Obiano's government after bringing Obiano to power. Compared to Obiano's attitude of leaving Prof. Soludo alone to run his own government, even though Obiano single-handedly ensured Soludo was the APGA gubernatorial candidate and supported him thoroughly throughout the process. Yet, Obiano was NOT attacking Prof. Soludo publicly for not retaining his Commissioners or following Obiano's vision of development. Unlike how petty Peter Obi would have since been granting interviews to smear Soludo if he were in Obiano's shoes.
Peter Obi today wants to be Nigeria's president. Which i feel he is eminently qualified and has the capacity to save Nigeria from its current mess. But Peter Obi must understand that the more he hounds Obiano, the more he inadvertently belittles himself and hurts his chances. Love him or hate him, Ndi Anambra worldwide understands that in spite of his imperfections, Dr. Willie Obiano was a great force for good and rapid transformational development of Anambra state. No amount of calumny by Peter Obi can change the facts on the ground that everyone can see.
Obiano was Governor under Buhari led Federal government amidst poor GDP, Oil, and Economic meltdown yet he was able to increase Anambra GDP from N3 trillion to 4.2 trillion in a space of 5years (from 2014-2019), and as at 2020 Anambra had a GDP of $12 billion and per capita income of $1750. Obiano kept Anambra State at top of the chart in fiscal performance (even more than Obi's administration); attracted highest foreign/local investments in the entire Southeast and southsouth region. Delivered series of capital projects which are today yielding immediate returns to the state.
