Ajimobi, who had his first degree and MBA from the US, before he joined politics and was elected Senator in 2003, was MD/CEO of National Oil & Petroleum Marketing Company Ltd, a subsidiary of Shell.

Anyone who rose to be MD/CEO of the subsidiary of such a major multinational oil giant like Shell should be very rich; just like an ED in a major bank. And he declared these assets BEFORE he was elected Governor; so, they are somewhat believable.

However, this is not an excuse for any corruption under any guise; but just to say the facts, considering that I have read some funny comments as though the man was a nobody before he joined politics.

National Oil which later became Conoil was the downstream business of Shell. Shell pulled out of the downstream business sometimes in the mid 80s.

To have N292.4 mill sitting in a bank account is not as hard as many of you imagine. Most especially when that person in question has been MD?CE of a multi-billion oil Firm. To me, owning a house in UK isnt a heck of a deal.

He told me that your long-term financial credibility is checked before you are even considered for such financing.
