Umar Muda, a member of the Nigerian House of Representatives, has presented legislation to make cross-dressing illegal in the country.

On Tuesday, the bill was read aloud on the House floor. It proposes to outlaw cross-dressing, with the exception of individuals who do it for amusement purposes.

Recently, certain crossdressers have gained popularity in Nigeria, most notably Instagram entertainer Bobrisky.

Crossdressers now face 6 months in jail if the new law is enacted.

The bill proposes to alter the 2013 Same-Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act by inserting cross-dressing as one of the act’s offenses.

Remember that if convicted, same-sex couples and LGBT people risk 14 years in prison.

“A person engaging in cross-dressing is guilty of an offence and liable to imprisonment of 6 months or to a fine of five hundred thousand naira.”

Also ban estimated electricity billing system, the legislature keeps making only resolutions instead of making laws to ban estimated billing, you can't win a court case against a power company when there are no laws to use against them. I'm tired of paying for electricity that isn't available, na that one concern me, not an individual who is an adult but still confused about the sex he belongs to. I can't imagine the legislature discussing Brobrisky when the country is burning instead of inviting the president and all the security chiefs to the floor of the house embarassed

These people and focusing on unnecessary things while ignoring important issues ehn.

Is cross-dressing Nigeria's problem right now?

Is it more important than the dwindling economy, insecurity rocking the country, exploitation by all these service providers like multichoice and Co, and so on?

I wonder how the country will improve with these crop of politicians.

Arrest bobrisky, he is leading the kids astray. It's a shame how Bobrisky flaunts decadence and depravity on our collective faces, debasing the minds of our children. We need people with solutions, we need people with ideas to develop the country, we can not allow impoverished, and deceased people like Bobrisky destroy the minds of our kids and get them twisted.

Fake concerns. As far as I am concerned, any legislator that is not calling for the money they allocate to themselves and that of the executive to be drastically reduced and be directed towards educational sector, Insecurity or Jobs creation is not genuine.

After all this their theatrical display, they take home more money than average legislators in the western world where we borrow money and collect aid from.

Nonsense and ingredients.
